At that moment, Victoria opened the door to find Alaric standing in front of the
bathroom door.

faded when he saw her walk out.

change into a new gown?”

tomorrow?”
Those words eventually derailed his train of thought, and he replied, “I’m fine with
anything. I’ll eat whatever you make.”
“Okay. I’ll bring you breakfast tomorrow morning, but I won’t be able to stop by for
lunch.”
“Okay, Terrance will deal with it.”

time, he was leaning against the wall and brooding after being sent out of the room
due to his misspoken words. Then, he straightened up when he heard the door
open, and when he saw her, he shot her a guilty look and said haltingly, “Miss
Selwyn…”
After hearing that, she walked over to speak with him like nothing had happened.
He listened attentively to her while nodding and asked, “Very well. Shall I buy him
dinner as well?”
“Yes. Also, if he refuses to eat it, tell him I won’t return tomorrow.”
“Okay,” Terrance said, nodding hard. “No problem. Thank you, Miss Selwyn. Why
don’t I drive you home?”

brief break before moving on. Despite her best efforts, she could not stop thinking
about Griselda’s death.
At that moment, she ran into Bane as she approached the hospital entrance. Their
gazes met, and she was surprised to see him there. “Why are you here?”
“I’m here for you.” After saying that, he grabbed her wrist and left the hospital.
On the other hand, no words were exchanged between them on the return trip.
Neither of them questioned the other about how he found out she was at the
hospital or why she went there. They already knew each other’s responses to
certain questions, so they did not bother to inquire.
