Chapter 19: The Way Home

Meanwhile back at the house, Andrea had stayed in meditation for the last few hours, looking for Victoria until a few minutes ago. She was just getting ready to give up for the day when images of the inside of her car flickered in her head along with Victoria's voice saying "mommy". Andrea teared up, before racing downstairs and saying "I've found her, all I have to do is track my car...get ready to go". Andrea pulled out her phone, tracked her car's coordinates, and said "alright let's go" before teleporting out into the middle of the desert where she found a scene of carnage...Paula lay there all still breathing slowly as Andrea ran up to her and said "oh my god Paula, let me heal you" but She slowly shook her head and said, "no, let me die...my time has passed and I can't wait to see my sweet husband Jorge...Just remember what I told you and do it immediately...that would give my death some meaning". After choking out those last words, Paula's head slumped over as she died in Andrea's arms with a smile on her face, which really sent it home to Andrea as she started crying.

After wiping away the tears, she walked over to Andi who was dead, and said "I will never let myself become anything like you...You weren't a bad person, you're just a victim of circumstance and unresolved issues that caused you to lose it...I hope you find the peace you never found in life". Unknown to Andrea, Andi had found what she was looking for and all it cost was her life. Andi woke up in her and Jay's bedroom in their house, but it was different...it was clean, the power was on and the halls were filled with the sounds of life including... Victoria. Andi immediately hopped up and ran down the stairs where she every member of the Mendoza family stood. Andi's eyes opened wide and she began to back up as she said: "no this can't be real... it's gotta be a dream, a joke, something". Jay came out of the crowd with Victoria and said "sweetie you're dead, we're in the spirit realm...we literally watched as you died". Paula walked up and said, "yeah and I shot you in the neck after you shot me in the chest". Paula pulled out a gun and shot Andi again but it went right through her and Paula said: "you're dead which means my plan worked". Jay smiled at Andi and said "kidnapping and trying to steal that other Andrea's life was fucked up but I'm going to forgive you". Jay pulled her into a deep kiss and said "I'm not mad about you dating Paula either...you did what you had to in order to survive...you are strong and I love you for still living even without us". Victoria ran up to Andi and said "mommy you're back, I missed you" and Andi bent over and hugged her before bursting into tears. She said, "mommy missed you too but we're together again now, forever". Paula walked up to Andi and said "I'm sorry about shooting you I-". Before she could say anything else, Andi hugged her and said "you did what was right...all those years of hurt drove me to do things". Paula smiled and said" in a week we're getting drunk" and Andi said "you're on" before the two went to go talk with the rest of the family.

Meanwhile back in reality, Andrea walked over to her car and opened the door to find her daughter passed out asleep in the backseat. Andrea reached over and shook her awake and said "mommy you're alive?" and Andrea said, "it's a long story sweetie but I'm here now and I'm taking you home". As they got out of Andrea's wrecked car, Victoria saw Andi's dead body and stopped before looking at her mother with a horrified face". Andrea smiled and said "I'm your mommy... remember a month ago when you broke your lightbulb in your room and I cleaned it up and sent you down for snacks?". Victoria smiled and said "you are my mommy" and Andrea smiled and said yes, we're going back home in just a minute". Andrea walked over to Maya and said "thank you for helping me find my daughter". Maya smiles and says "you're welcome, but we're not done yet, we must figure out what to do about Victoria so that this mess can't happen again".

Andrea nods and says "give it a day or two...I have to fix another mess that used to be my marriage ".Maya nodded and said very well...but what should we do with these two?". Andrea smiled and said "I'll take care of it" before blasting Paula and Andi's bodies which began to disintegrate into purple fragments that blew into the sky. Andrea said, "now their bodies will become one with the stars as all gods do when they die...and she was a god...a lost one who finally made it back home". Maya nodded and snapped her fingers, sending them all back home. When Andrea and Victoria appeared in the living room,she told Victoria to go up to her room while she talked to dad. Victoria smiled, gave her a kiss, and left off to her room, while Andrea headed in search of her husband.
