Chapter 99 

In reality, it didn’t matter whether there was a child or not in Jonathan’s mind. All he wanted was Yennefer. 

Jonathan was only forced to take that step because his mother wanted a grandchild. 

Sitting on the bed, Jonathan took a photo of him and Yennefer, and tears started streaming down from the corner of his eyes. 

After looking at the photo for a long time, Jonathan took out his phone and pressed the familiar number. He felt miserable. 

It turned out that the phone showed that the other party was on a call almost immediately. Jonathan already knew he had been blacked, yet he was still hopeful.

Jonathan thought of how he would never get to see Yennefer’s beautiful face anymore. 

Finally, Jonathan pushed open the door and got out of the car. Then, he walked in Yennefer’s direction. “Yenny.” 

Yennefer, who was talking to her colleagues, turned her head around when she heard someone calling her. However, her face darkened when she saw 

that it was Jonathan. 

Then, Yennefer asked her colleagues to leave first. 

After all, Yennefer didn’t want to argue with Jonathan in front of the company. 

Jonathan approached her and said, “Yenny, how are you?” 

“I’m fine. What can I do for you?” Yennefer’s tone was not friendly. 

“We’re husband and wife, after all. Do we have to do things this way?” Jonathan felt heartbroken about Yennefer’s attitude. 

Yennefer smiled and replied, “I don’t think I have anything else to say to you. Don’t come to me again if it’s not about the divorce.“” 

After some time to process, Yennefer’s mood gradually improved. 

However, Jonathan’s appearance messed with Yennefer’s heart once again. 

After all, it was not easy to let go of such a long relationship just like that. 

Still, Yennefer turned around and left as soon as she finished her sentence. 

Jonathan was upset to see that Yennefer refused to even speak to him now. 

“Yenny, I agree to divorce.”

The next day, as Jonathan was ready to go out, Samantha said, “Jonathan, I’ll go with you.” 

“Mom, what do you want this time?” Seeing that she wanted to tag along, Jonathan thought Samantha might want to cause trouble again. 

“I just want to see if you’re lying to me. I’m not going to do anything” Samantha said. 

Jonathan knew that once his mother decided to do something, there was no way of stopping her. 

Thus, Jonathan had no choice but to let Samantha tag along.

In reality, Jonathan also had his selfish motives. He thought that if his mother made a scene and the divorce did not go through that it meant he could stall the divorce a little longer. 

Soon, the car stopped in front of the City Hall. Jonathan saw Yennefer as soon as he stepped out of the car.

After getting out of the car, the two walked to Yennefer. “Yennefer, I’m telling you. You’ve been with Jonathan for so many years, yet you have no children. We have even helped raise your niece for several years. Now that you’re divorcing, I hope you don’t go too far!” said Samantha. 

It turned out that the true purpose Samantha went was to prevent her son from being a fool. She wanted Yennefer to leave the marriage without 

anything. 

However, Yennefer didn’t bother herself with Samantha at all. Instead, she turned to Jonathan and said, “We will still follow the terms in the divorce agreement. We’ll go in if you have no objections. I don’t want to say anything else.” 

“Okay,” Jonathan agreed. 

“Wait a minute,” Samantha called out to the two, who were about to go inside. 

Then, Samantha walked to Yennefer and said, “Yennefer, you asked for a divorce, so you have to leave the marriage without anything. I said it before. Don’t you dare think of taking a dime from Jonathan?” 

Samantha thought Yennefer would agree if the latter wanted a divorce. 

At the same time, Samantha knew her son well, and that it was impossible for Jonathan to say such a thing. 

Meanwhile, Jonathan’s face darkened when he heard those words. He hurriedly pulled Samantha to stop her from saying more. “Mom, can you stop interfering? I’m the one in the wrong in this matter, to begin with. It’s our fault. How can you still make such a request?” 

“I knew she was going to cause trouble the moment she said she wanted to come,” thought Jonathan. 

Everything went as Jonathan had expected. 

Similarly, Yennefer sneered at Samantha’s words and said, “In that case, there’s nothing to talk about anymore. I’ll see you in court.” 

As soon as she said that, Yennefer glanced at Jonathan and added, “I just want to leave you with what is left of your dignity. If you insist on making me do this, then I won’t show you any mercy anymore.” 

With that, Yennefer left indifferently. 

Still, Samantha refused to let it go and shouted, “Yennefer, how dare you threaten us? The Zimmerman family has taken care of you and Josephine for many years. What a waste!” 

“Mom, can you stop making a scene? I’ll handle this matter myself,” Jonathan jumped in as he never forgot that Josephine recorded the video of him and Winnie in the hotel. 

That said, Josephine probably gave Yennefer the video. 

Thus, not only would Jonathan lose his reputation if the video was made public, but he would be the one to leave the marriage without anything. 

Thinking of that, Jonathan couldn’t help but get nervous. 

Meanwhile, Yennefer was really angry. She thought Jonathan truly came to divorce and solve the problem. However, she realized she might have simplified things too much.

However, Samantha only agreed on the surface. In reality, she was still firm on not letting Yennefer get a penny. 

Back at home, Winnie was upset when she found out the divorce was not settled.. 

Aggrieved, Winnie cried and said, “Jonathan, I don’t think you want to divorce at all. In that case, why am I keeping this child? 1, Winnie Jones, am still young. I don’t want to be a homewrecker. I can’t afford to be humiliated like this.” 

Without giving time for a response, Winnie balled her eyes out and continued, “If you hadn’t said you would marry me back then, I wouldn’t have ended up being called a homewrecker.” 

As she got to the end of her sentence, Winnie reached out and started beating her abdomen. 

At the sight of that, Samantha panicked and hurriedly stopped her. “Winnie, you can’t joke around like that” 

Still, Jonathan ignored her and said directly. “Stop messing around if you still want to marry into our family.” 

After saying that, Jonathan looked at Samantha and said, “Mom, it’s all your fault. Would we be in this situation if it weren’t for you?”
