Noah headed out of the house, however as soon as he stepped down the last stair, his gaze met with Edward who was walking towards him. Seeing the head of the intel and security team walk over to where he stood, Noah paused and waited for the man. 

As he was the employer and not the employee, Noah found it beneath him to walk towards his employee, whom he paid and employed to work for him. 

Once Edward came to a stop in front of hi, Noah immediately questioned him, “Did you find riana?” 

Edward raised a brow when he saw the anxiety etched 

on Noah’s face. He hadn’t seen his boss act like this, even when they were on the verge of losing a grave contract. Yet, he was acting like this because Miss Ariana went missing? 

Did he really have no feelings towards Miss Ariana? It 

did not seem like that. 

However, this was not of his concern as the train was long gone from the station. Edward closed his eyes and relayed, “We did not find where Miss Ariana is at

“What? What is it? What did you find?” Noah questioned. Though he tried to suppress his excitement, a bit of it still leaked, causing him to stiffen. Why was he reacting like this? He should be filled with anger that he needed to release on that woman who walked away, leaving him in this chaotic 

situation. 

“Mrs Harlow will be holding her 70th birthday party tomorrow,” Edward replied, causing Noah to furrow his 

brows.

“What does that have to do with what I asked you to 

do?” Noah asked with a twitch on his forehead. He 

looked at Edward and stated, “Do you want me to go to visit my in-laws while bearing a gift?” 

Everyone knew that he disliked the Harlow’s. Other than Ariel, he did not have a good impression of anyone in that family. Especially, Mother Harlow, who was quick to suck up to those who were in power while acting arrogant with those who were beneath her.

The last time he saw that woman, she was beating and slapping someone like a shrew on the street. It was simply humiliating to think that the woman was related to him in one way or another. This was why he pretended not to know that he even had in-laws, in the past three years. 

Edward did not feel offended at the sarcas ic response that Noah threw his way, as he knew that this was going to come his way when he decided to deliver this information to Noah. 

In fact, he did not even want to deliver this 

information, but Heather told him to leave way out for himself as well. Even though he was doing this because he wanted to repay Ari’s goodwill. He was bound by a contract with the Nelson family f someone were to find out that he deliberately hid Ari’s information from Noah, then he could get in great 

trouble. 

Edward agreed with Heather when she told him that he needed to get his mind straight. 

He opened his eyes and then stated, “That is not what I meant, Mister Nelson. What I am trying to say is Madam has never missed a single birthday party of her

parents. Maybe if you visit the Harlow house, then you might run into Madam.” 

It was only then did Noah remember, that Ari did make it a ritual to attend the birthday parties of her mother. Even though that woman did not treat her any better than the rug under her feet, Ari, despite her fear had gone to those birthday parties. 

He remembered seeing Ari tremble whenever she was about to step inside the Harlow house. As if it were the place where all her demons were locked, yet she never failed to show up. 

Noah had sometimes wondered why she d it, but she never told him why she went to this place despite being scared. 

Usually, if someone feared a thing, they would avoid it with everything they had in their power. 

Ariana, however, had done the opposite. 

“Doesn’t mean that she would do the same thing this year as well,” Noah remarked. He did not know what had gotten inside Ariana’s head, but she was surprising him lately, it wouldn’t be a surprise for him if that woman decided not to attend Mrs Harlow’s birthday.

Noah did not answer and simply stared at Edward, who smiled and offered, “That’s because his body is 

used to it.”
