“First, I thought that he had shunned me or was still in recovery from the great loss we suffered recently but then, I recently realized that I couldn’t feel his presence at all in my mind. It feels like my wolf has left me and I’m unable to shift,” I explained to her and she gasped. 

Her hands flew over her mouth as the words sank in her mind. “How can it be possible? Did your wolf sacrifice himself to save you? Or is it also the side–effect of that f**king antidote?” She was fuming in anger so she lifted her b*dy and laid beside me. 

“I don’t know either, Tila. I was going to ask Zach about this tomorrow morning as we don’t have much time left at the moment,” I said firmly, taking her hands in mine and drawing circles on the back of her palms to soothe her. 

Tila pressed her b*dy into mine and I felt a jolt of electricity running in my b*dy. There was a comfortable silence between us before she broke the silence. 

“The marking process wouldn’t be finished since you don’t have a wolf and without our wolves, we are nothing but mere humans,” she told me, pain was visible in her tone. 

Tila had been waiting for this day for so long that I didn’t want to ruin it by adding more to her burden. Since the day our marks disappeared, she had been eagerly waiting to get our marks back and show everyone with or without the bond, that we were the one and would always have each 

other’s back. 

It had sl*pped my mind and if I was being honest, I didn’t think that it was going to become such a 

issue but if the council members or high–witches didn’t see the mark on our n*ecks, it wasn’t that bad. 

“Your n*eck isn’t healing,” she remarked, her eyes holding pure innocence and raw pain that I had bestowed upon her. 

She closed her eyes and swiveled her arms in the air while chanting something before channelizing her powers into me. A wave of power rippled through me, making my veins burn for a second before my nerves cooled down and I felt my n*eck healing. 

She rubbed her hand over my n*eck and whispered, “It’s healed.”
