The years passed by slowly as Karen lived on this unknown island. She did not know where she was until the first night she stayed. The stars gave it away. Even though it had been over a decade since she had last seen the constellations of her home planet, she knew them in an instant. She was home away from the life she once lived.

Her days were spent at the shore line hearing the waves crash against the shore. The vastness of the ocean reminded how beautiful her home was. For two years she visited the shore until one day some fishermen were stranded. She plunged into the waters and helped them to shore. They thanked her and she showed them the island and where to find food. They learned of her mutations when she hunted. The fear in their eyes didn’t even phase her. Despite their fear of her, they did owe her their lives.

Within a few months a rescue team found the island and the fishermen. The fishermen offered Karen the chance to get off the island. She was hesitant at first, but she thought it would be nice to see her old home and the beauty it had.

Karen sat quietly on a plane back to Arizona. When that rescue team landed in Australia, Karen was sent to the doctors for a check up. She had asked the fisherman to find the address of her old home. Paying their debt to her, they gave her what she needed to get there. She had never been on a plane before, but it was very similar to being in a spacecraft. She almost missed being in space.

When the plane landed she soon made her way to vehicle transportation. She asked around for directions to a taxi then made her way there. When she got a taxi, she gave the driver the address and they were off. After a few hours they came up to white house with flowers by the porch. She thanked the driver as he drove off.

The house of her childhood was much different now. Her memories of this place only reminded her that the life she had here had vanished. Her family was gone. She stood there a moment longer before her instincts told her to leave.

Having no money, Karen had to find a job that suited her. As she walked the streets she heard sirens echo ahead of her. She followed them out of curiosity, but found a cop on the ground. A masked man pointed the gun at the cop, but the man saw Karen.

“Stay back!” he shouted.

Karen slowly walked towards with her hands up.

“Stop!” he shouted

“Why would I do that?” she asked with a smile.

The man shot her, and Karen flinched, but kept walking. The man shot her again and again but to no avail. Karen drove her claws through his forearm. He screamed in pain as his hand dropped the gun.

“I don’t like people like you.” Karen snarled. “You hurt innocent people.”

She released her claws and punched the man in the face. He slumped against the wall of an old building. Karen walked to the cop and pulled him to his feet.

“Lock him up, and never let him out again.” Karen instructed.

The cop nodded his head and Karen began to leave.

“We could use someone like you on the force,” he commented.

“I don’t work well with people. I have a temper that I can’t control.” Karen answered.

“Be a bounty hunter then. They can work alone.”

“I’ll think about it.”

Karen disappeared from view, but it was a good offer. She soon spent a few years hunting the worst of the worst. She was still a hunter from the wars she had fought in, and this helped those instincts.

After four years of hunting criminals, Karen was ready for a break. She used the money she had acquired to travel and see the beauties Earth had to offer. In her travels, Karen had met some humanoids that lived on Earth. Just as Vixok had told her, they knew him and stayed in touch with him. One of Vixok’s contacts had the means to send others back to space if they so wished. Karen sought him out and explained her situation.

“It is not a cheap mode of travel.” the humanoid stated.

“Take the rest of my money.” Karen said flatly.

“Exactly how much would that be?” he sneered.

“Three million dollars.”

He smiled as he showed her a spacecraft.

“All I have to do is input the coordinates,” he explained.

“Perfect.”

Vixok stood on a balcony overlooking the wilderness. His mind had wandered off when Nerok came bursting into his office.

“She’s back!” Nerok announced.

Vixok smiled as they both made their way to the loading dock. Karen stood with a smile on her face.

“Hello, my old friend.”
