Faith with Wolves
2. O'Dell's

Faith

Iris and I have spent the last three days unpacking and redecorating the house. My mom never changed anything in the house. All the furniture is old and there isn’t even a single television or Wi-Fi in the house. I have no idea how she survived here.

So drastic changes were made. I repainted the kitchen a country yellow and got all new appliances. In the living room, I got rid of the couch and bought a new black leather sectional. I also bought the biggest television I could find.

Mom’s old bedroom was the worst. I repainted the walls a light gray. Put up matching curtains and some fairy lights. Most importantly I got a new bed. I don’t want to lay in a place where I was possibly conceived. It’s just gross. My new bed is a California king. The bed set is ocean blue, my favorite color.

Now I’m starving. Iris wanted to stay behind and work on her bedroom. So I’m venturing into town alone I'm going to O’Dells, The bar where my parents met. Also, Kandy my mom's best friend owns it. Her niece and my friend Ruby work there.

I drive my large black truck into town and park outside the bar. There are only a few cars outside of the hole in the wall. I haven’t been here in at least six months since me and my parents visited. They had finally let me drink alcohol but only one beer. They don't know I drink way more than that when I hang out with Iris or at one of the royal balls we have. They still look at me as an innocent child, not an adult.

When I walk in the bar a few humans glance at me and then turn away. I hope I don’t look terrible. I’m in some jeans shorts and a black crop top. My dirty blonde hair is tied into a messy bun. Honestly, I've never been the type to dress up. I’m regretting it now.

I walk straight to the bar sit down and grab a menu. This place has great burgers so I will probably order that. Ruby comes out of the back and smiles when she sees me.

“Oh, my goodness. Is this real? Your parents actually let you move out? I thought you would be locked away in the palace forever!” She squeals and leans over the bar to give me a quick hug.

She still looks the same a lot like Kandy. With her caramel skin and bright brown eyes. No purple hair though. Hers is a dark brown.

“Surprisingly they said yes. I can’t wait to go out and finally live my life!” I smile and Ruby hands me a beer.

“I have the perfect welcome to freedom event for you. My cousin works security at this nightclub. He can get us in for free, let's go.” S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I bite my nails nervously. “A club. Like a human club? Is it safe?” I know I sound like a loser but it's been drilled into my head since I was ten to be extra careful, especially around humans. I've never been to a dance club before.

“It’s safe I promise. I've been there before and it’s very chill. And if you feel uncomfortable we'll leave.”

“Okay, then I’ll come. Now tell me all the latest gossip."

I end up sitting and talking to Ruby for another hour listening to her talk about the crazy patrons that come in and out of here. Just last week they had to throw out a guy for getting rough with his girlfriend.

“Wow, men are assholes. I'm so glad I'm single." It's not like I've had a choice though, since my dad scares away all boys who even glance in my direction, but still.

“Same so many guys hit on me every night. It turns me off so bad I might be a lesbian now.” She jokes.

While Ruby goes to help other customers. I check my phone for messages. My dad will probably be calling soon to check on me. Suddenly an alluring scent hits me. It smells like roasted marshmallows over a campfire, but it’s not the only thing I smell.

The door opens and Ruby sighs. “Crap we were having so much fun I forgot it’s Thursday. The Blue Moon Pack always comes in.”

I hear a growl and turn around. Standing by the door are five werewolves and they don’t look happy to see me.
