Looking at Johann’s desperate face, Edith really wanted to comfort him and give him a hug, but she knew that she had no turning back. She couldn’t do 

that. 

Edith gritted her teeth and finally chose to turn around and leave without even looking at Johann. 

Seeing Edith leave, Johann came to his senses and immediately chased after her, but he was held tightly by Vanessa. 

“Johann, give up. She’s already married. No one can change this.” 

Hearing this, Johann was stunned for a moment and stared blankly at Edith’s receding figure.

Vanessa froze on the spot, tears falling from her eyes. This time, she was not acting, but really sad.

That night, Edith went back, hid under the quilt, and burst into tears. The next day, she went to work as if nothing had happened. 

Edith didn’t expect that Johann would find out where she worked and block her way at the company entrance in the morning. 

“How did you find this place?” 

“Vanessa used to give me wrong information. Of course, I couldn’t find you. Now… you can’t get rid of me anymore,” Johann said stubbornly. 

“It’s over between us.” 

“Not at all,” Johann said loudly. “You can’t end it unilaterally. You’re my fiancée and the only woman I’ve ever loved. We can’t just break up like this. No matter what you become, you’re still the woman I love. I won’t give up. 

“I don’t care about Simon and the Lawson family. No one can stop me from loving you. I want to be with you. I’ll negotiate with the Lawson family. I won’t give up on you.” 

Johann spoke word by word in a sonorous and powerful voice, which shocked Edith. 

Her heart almost softened. After a long while, Edith became firm and said, “What about Vanessa? You know that she loves you. Can you guarantee that

You’re the one I love.” 

Johann held Edith tightly in his arms and burst into tears.
