Edith nodded and replied respectfully, “Yes, I see!” 

“Come and sit here. You could only sit beside me and are not allowed to go anywhere else.” 

“Then what if I want to use the bathroom?” Edith asked. 

“Hold it in, Carlos said bluntly. 

Hearing this, Edith felt helpless and wished she could stay away from this domineering man! Suddenly, she felt that she was lucky to marry Simon, who had many affairs but was thoughtful and never cared about what she did. He even housed her and gave her new clothes and money. 

By contrast, Carlos was a control freak and didn’t allow others to defy him. Moreover, he often lost his temper and said. sarcastic words, forcing Edith to do things she didn’t want to do as her uncle. 

It was a fact that he didn’t have a date, but he brought her here to act! 

Edith complained inwardly. “It’s not shameful to like men. You just need to be strong enough. I don’t understand why I can’t even talk about it. Forget it. Since I dare not to offend you, whatever you say is reasonable and right!” 

Suddenly, she thought of a question and asked curiously, “Can I ask where the two beautiful girls went?” 

Carlos was very close to the two girls just now, who were nowhere to be seen now. 

“Beautiful girls? You have bad taste!” Carlos scolded.. 

Hearing this, Edith was at a loss for words. 

She didn’t talk back, feeling pity for the single man. 

Knowing that whatever she said would be wrong when Carlos 

was angry, Edith chose to remain silent. 

For a moment, the atmosphere became a little depressing. Others were having a good time at the party, but Edith was restless and did not even dare to eat anything. After the party ended, Carlos sent her back but was silent on the way. 

The atmosphere in the car was very tense. Edith wished it could be faster so that she could go home as soon as possible. 

When they finally arrived, she got out of the car quickly and said hurriedly, “Thank you! See you, Uncle Carlos! Good night!” 

Then, she ran away in a flash. 

Carlos watched Edith leave as if she couldn’t wait to escape. He couldn’t help feeling depressed and his brows furrowed tightly. 

Seeing this, Sam teased, “You will scare Mr. Lawson by treating her like this, Mr. Lawson. She doesn’t know you worried. about her and stayed in the underground cabin for so long. If she knew, she would be grateful to you.” 

“You said too much. Carlos lifted his attractive eyes with mixed feelings. 

Sam immediately fell silent. If he said more, he would probably suffer. 

Edith returned to the living room, got a glass of water, and took a few gulps to calm herself down. 

Flora, a servant of the Lawson family, walked to Edith with a plate of exquisite cheese cakes, which surprised her. 

Edith tasted one and found that it was exactly the same as what she had eaten at the party.

Hearing this, Edith had a warm feeling in her heart. She did not expect Simon to be so thoughtful. He was concerned that she would be hungry when she returned home late. 

She suddenly changed her opinion of Simon and asked curiously. “What else did Mr. Lawson say?” 

“He didn’t say much. He just asked if you’re used to living here and told us to take good care of you.” 

“Oh, I see…” Edith was touched and said, “I didn’t expect him to care so much about me. I thought the rumors about him were all true…”
