Fight for Me
Gotta appreciate

Third POV

Layla was busy tidying up in Nicholas’ room, while he was in the shower.

She wanted to get done with her chores, so she didn’t want to wait for him to be done. She knew he must have had a late night, seeing he’s usually an early riser and never in his room at this time.

Her gaze turns to the sound of the door opening and she can’t help but stare at the sight in front of her. He’s roughly drying his hair as he rubs the towel on his head, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

His gaze instantly shifts to her as he senses her presence. He smirks, seeing her stare at his body.

She can’t help it though. She knew he was sexy as hell. She’s seen him shirtless countless times, as many of the men around here prefer to be most of the time. But seeing him all wet and dripping, is making her engrave this view into memory.

“See anything you like?” He says with a smirk as he takes a step forward.

“Oh, definitely.” She says still looking at his chest, also taking a step forward.

They’re so close but so far apart. But Layla knows if she lifts her hand, she’ll be able to touch him. But she doesn’t know if she’ll be able to stop if she does.

“You know, most women would at least try to act shy.” She looks up at his words.

“Why?”

He furrows his brows still trying to understand this woman.

“Well, it’s not good manners to stare. Not to mention, I’m a taken man.”

“So?” She unknowingly takes a small step forward as his natural scent of pine and cinnamon pulls her in. “You can’t expect me not to stare when you look like this. If anything, you should be grateful that I’m giving you such open appreciation.” She bites her lower lip seeing a drop of water slip down his jawline.

A low growl rumbles deep in his chest.

“You certainly are a strange woman.”

“What’s going on here?”

They both snap their heads to the tall blond standing in the open doorway. She walks closer to the pair with a confused and angry look.

“What’s a maid doing in the Alpha’s room while he’s busy?” Rebecca raises a brow.

“Tidying up of course.” Layla smiles at her as she takes the loose towel from his hand and leaves.

Later that day, Layla decides to help out in the kitchen. She often does that when she finishes and has already become close with some of the kitchen staff.

It all started when she asked the chef if he can make Bulgogi. With her parents’ travels it was a dish that became an instant favourite. So her mother made it very often for her as a kid. But she never knew how it’s made and she really wanted it again, - something to remind her of home. As chatter filled the kitchen, the clacking sound of heels into the kitchen made them all go silent. Many of them bowed their heads in submission at Rebecca, but she was too focused on Layla.

“I thought you were a maid. Why are you helping in the kitchen, human?” She folds her arms.

“Uh,….I’m already done with my cleaning duties. So I came to help out here.”

“Ever resourceful I see. As long as you keep yourself busy and your eyes to yourself.” She turns and walks out.

Layla is quite surprised by that as she looks up and at the rest of the staff. They take her look as confusion, telling her not to worry about Rebecca and patting her on the shoulder like consoling some child.

But Layla knows what that was. She’s just shocked that a woman like Rebecca would feel the need to express or even feel such concern. She’s nothing compared to Rebecca.
