Fight for Me
A thief too

A few days later

Layla rushes to get her things sorted from her bag, -weapons, money, food. This is after all, everything she has on her now, after she basically left her bag of money and passports at Nick’s pack when Blake kidnapped her.

She has been trying to stay low for the past week, terrified that word will come out of who and where she may be.

She still can’t believe Nick caught her that night.

I knew he would be there, but for him to actually be the one to go after me and then still catch up with me is just ridiculous.

She glimpses out the window again before grabbing her backpack and swinging it over her shoulder.

Walking out of the motel room she rushes into the street and hails the first cab she sees. As she gets in she quickly gives the address and rests her head against the window taking a deep relieved breath.

Things are too calm. She doesn’t know why Nick hasn’t said anything about her yet. Or maybe he has and they’re just waiting for her to show herself to attack.

Nick wasn’t supposed to become a problem. He wasn’t supposed to find me.

She grunts out, frustrated.

I never wanted to become a killer. But it was the only way to just stop the pain and to survive. Even when those relentless trackers kept on coming after me, I took no pleasure in it. But I had to, to keep my secret. And I'll continue doing what I have to, to ensure my survival, and of course trying to stop this ridiculous war from happening. The war my parents tried to prevent.

As the cab comes to a stop she quickly hands him cash and gets out of the car. She throws the hoody over her head and rushes into the department store.

Tonight’s going to be another long night and she needs to be ready for anything, even for Nick. She knows how to hide her tracks and scent, but that can only bring her so far as her targets are becoming more and more inaccessible. And especially now that she might have a direct opponent.

There is only so much I can do to get Nick to hate me. First I get his pack in trouble with berserk attacks. Then I shoot him. Just to get Maxim hurt in my booby trap. And now I find out that Alpha Reid was like his uncle. Uuuggghh.

But it's too late to turn back now. And I knew people would get hurt. So, I’m not going to stop now, I can't.

She swiftly moves through the crowds of people as she makes her way to one of the high-end boutique stores.

She knows she doesn’t look the part to fit among these high class shoppers. But she has learned to adapt.

She puts on her oversized sunglasses and flamboyantly strolls in with a black card in hand, -obviously stolen. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Yes. I know. I’m a thief too at this point in my life. But it’s not like living innocently did anything for me.

And now she has pulled off the spoilt girl look. Seeming to just want to avoid any so-called paparazzi while doing shopping with daddy’s money.

After buying a very tight and very revealing red dress, she makes her way to choose matching shoes and accessories as well, of course. Even though the dress isn’t her taste at all, she knows it will serve its purpose. After all, seduction is a key part in getting your target’s attention. And it just makes things a whole lot easier.

It’s a good thing this is a masquerade event. So I don’t need to worry about anyone being there tonight that might recognize me. And I doubt they would, with this outfit I chose.

She heads out, making her way to the hotel she will so graciously stay the night on the expense of this black card’s owner. And from what she could guess, the man was so rich he would probably not even notice the card gone any time soon.

She plops down onto the King sized bed in the suite, enjoying its softness. Missing her princess-styled bed. She’s been hiding out in motels for the past few days to keep a low profile. None of it was pleasing at all, especially the food. Until she reached her limit and realized that she might as well go all out tonight before she goes on her next hunt.

I have realized that living life without a care of having to follow the rules, really makes things a whole lot more easier and ….fun.

She giggles as she orders room service and starts getting ready for tonight.
