I was covered in shivering cold punch from head to toe. Melixes had really got me. Kai was out there somewhere trying to put her in her place. I was walking back towards my room, flanked by Jax. Entirely embarrassed, shivering from head to toe. My high heels eerily clacking on the marble floors. I nearly slipped a few times from the goo that was still dripping from my head, unto my beautiful lavender dress. Silent tears were falling down my cheeks. I angrily swiped them away. I was trying so hard to fit in in this strange world, being embarrassed in front of the regents, your friends and frenemies was really hard for me to take right now. I really needed a hug from my boyfriend. Kai where are you?

I sniffed and wiped away another tear. ‘I got her Jax.’ Ash said to Jax, who handed me over reluctantly. But he saw I didn’t protest so he let me go and walked back towards the dining hall. My arms crossed, teeth cackled and I was trying to preserve some heat by rubbing up and down my ice cold arms. He caught up to me. ‘Hey… it’s no big deal okay. Here take this.’ He took of his thousand dollar jacket and hung it over my dirty shoulders before I could protest. I shrieked his name at him. ‘You can’t….it will be ruined!’ I felt instantly warmer but I felt ashamed that I had damaged his beautiful jacket. I stared up at him, eyes red from crying and big with embarrassment. ’You are taking a shower, get out of that dress and we are going to read some books on that windowsill of yours okay?’ I was shaking my head but he hadn’t noticed. He was already dragging me towards my room. Supporting me as I was slipping on the floors. He made a puffing noise as soon as he saw my giant bathtub. ‘Now that’s a tub…’ I giggled at that. Which made a huge glob of goo fall down on the floor with a wet thud. Another one slid straight into my eyes and it burned immediately. ‘Shit… shit…’ my hands were covered in the same goo so I stood there flailing around. ‘I got you!’ He yelled and walked over to me. The steam from the tub already covering the entire room. He picked me up under my ass, his jacket falling down on the floor. I yelped. ‘Ash what are you doing?’ he walked straight into the tub with me, both of us fully dressed. What is it with these Rainers and walking into tubs completely clothed?

He gently dunked me in the middle of it and I went down and back up. The goo was drifting around us. I was trying to open my eyes but it was still painful. The dress was cramping up from the water and the heat. ‘It’s hurting me…’ I whispered. Trying to undo my zipper but it was stuck. ‘Here let me….’ ash scooted behind me. He slipped me out of the dress and raised me up in his arms. He threw the dress out with a wet thud and put his two thumbs over my eyes to clear them some more. When I could finally see I wish I hadn’t, because this man, completely wet, with his clothes sticking to that body and not realizing how hungry he was looking at me, just about did me in for real.

‘Here… get washed up… I’ll be out there waiting for you okay?’ he kissed my nose gently. Breathing me in deeply, placing his forehead against mine. Stepped behind me and out of the tub. I was so grateful for him. He was one of the few that kept me sane. He and his sister. I washed up, towel dried my hair and we spend the rest of the night reading books together in silence. Kai never showed up. That hurt me more than any of it.

The next morning was still pretty awkward since we were all still in the mansion. I was ignoring Kai. Because he had really hurt my feelings last night. I saw immediate tension between Sebastian and Melixes as well. She was giving me more evil stares than usual. Skylark drew me into the laundry room for a quick gossip session. She told me that Melixes and Sebastian had gotten into a huge fight after I had left the dining room. Sebastian dumped her in front of everyone. But according to Melixes they are just on a break.
