Chapter eighteen - A beastly king

Raw screams ripped through the hot air. Scorching flames devoured houses and people.

Men in armor raided the streets. Slashing and cutting anyone and everyone in their path. The cries of pain and anguish filled the air as men tried to fight back and mothers defended their babies.

The air was thick with smoke. The streets were painted scarlet red, the color running down in little streams.

A man in armor approached a little girl trying to hide away. She whimpered as hot tears streamed down her face. The man snarled and grinned, a wicked smile forming on his face as he lifted up his sword and brought it down on her. There was a cry and then...silence. Blood. Blood everywhere.

"NOOOOO!!!!!!!" A scream tore through the air as a man tried to protect his daughter, but it was too late. She had already been taken. He held her in his arms and wept, her scarlet blood drenching him. He looked up, sensing someone standing over him. He whispered something before he too, was taken.

Over and over. People were taken.

Until there was no one left to take.

Now, the streets were silent. There was no sign of life at all.

King Satyr flew through the skies, a raging beast. All signs of his humanity gone. His thick black powerful wings propelled him forward as he soared through the sky. His eyes a fiery red. His teeth, long and jagged. He roared once more releasing his wrath in the form of unforgiving flames.

High above, staring out the window of a destroyed castle, stood a beautiful figure wearing a wicked smile.
