From Here to Ecstasy
Chapter 29 - Wait, what?

Short N/A: A longer chapter, hope you like.

Recap:

My mom was squeezing the shit out of me, acting over the top. Didn’t she have faith in me? Couldn’t she feel me as I rubbed her back? She dragged me into her lap, not caring about my ribs.

“Women are crazy, Griffith, didn’t you know this already?” My wolf decided to pipe in with his thoughts as I snorted.

“My baby!” My mom wailed as she pulled me into her lap, not remembering my broken ribs until I cried out.

“How?” Autumn asked the one question everyone else was wondering.

“Well...” I croaked, feeling as if my throat was as dry as the desert.

Kaiden’s POV

“Well, what?” Mom asked me as she narrowed her eyes at me.

Autumn handed me a drink of water and I gladly drank it all down in one sip. “Sheesh, you would think you wouldn’t be reprimanded after you died.”My mom slapped me upside my head, but it wasn’t very hard. I guess she was still worried about me.

“Well, what?” Autumn asked as she crossed her arms, looking as if she was our mom. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I grabbed Makenzie to me and kissed her. I held her trembling body in my arms as we sat in mom’s lap. “Okay, I was in darkness for however long as I was there before I felt lightning hit my body. It hurt so much. I don’t know why I was in pain, hopefully, you can fill me in. When the lighting hit me I was laying on the greenest grass I’ve ever seen. The first person I saw was mom’s mom. She was funny and charming.” I turned towards my mom. “She said to tell you she misses you and she loves you. Oh, and to give you this from her.” I kissed her cheek as she smiled.

“Definitely my mom.”

“The next person I saw was my other grandma, the Moon Goddess. She was not happy I was already with her. She made sure to let me know I was between the living and the dead. I had a decision to either stay with her and she would bring Makensie to me or go back. You see which I decided on. I chose all of you. I was hit by lighting again and fell to my knees. That’s all of it. I had a choice between life and death.” I made sure to illiterate my choices. It wasn’t an easy decision for me with all the pain I had been in.

My mom squeezed me again, eliciting a yelp out of me. “Are you alright, son?”

I looked at Makenzie and smiled. “Uh, my mate did as I asked and hit me in the chest. Hard. She might have broken a few ribs, but she brought me back.”

“I didn’t mean to hurt you,” Makenzie told me as she cried.

I pulled her to me. “I rather you hurt me then to let me stay dead. You saved my life. You heard me when I told you what to do.” She wiped her tears off her face and smiled, as she slumped against my good side. “I thought you were gone for good.”

I nodded my head, knowing how she felt. I turned back to look at everyone in my room. “What happened? I need to know all of it, please. I remember mom standing over me with her eyes blazing. I don’t remember anything else.”

Blaize cleared his throat as mom shook her head. “I’ll tell you what I know and the rest can tell you what they know, okay?” I nodded my head. “I was back in the woods, waiting to see if he-”

“He? Can anyone start from the very beginning? I will listen to mom as soon as we get to the part she was standing over me,” I basically ordered, causing Micah and the doctor to shudder and drop their eyes to the floor. “Oh, hell, I didn’t mean to Alpha order anyone.”

“I tell him,” Winter told everyone as they nodded. “We found out the man who wanted to hurt our pack was a wolf and dragon shifter, well, Ander and Asher found out he was a dragon.”

I nodded and smiled. “I remember what happened, all but what happened when mom was standing over me. The dragon was sneaky and came on me quickly. He must have learned a spell to hide. But, what happened after mom found me?” I turned to my mom, wanting an answer.

“The dragon was coming to kill all of us. He wanted all of our packs. Justice and Athena joined together and told me when he would pass overhead. I raised my hands, at their instructions, and zapped the dragon, killing him. He fell to the ground hard, taking out a few trees. When I got back to you, you were barely breathing. I teleported you to the hospital, well, something akin to a hospital, but I had to bring our doctor and nurses here. This pack has nothing. The nurses are lazy and there is no doctor. I can fix the no doctor part.” She shook herself. “You had broken bones everywhere. Autumn and either Asher or Ander helped heal you.”

“Wow. Wait! What?” I asked as I rubbed the back of my neck. I needed to know how they healed me so fast. “It usually takes all of you to heal a person. But, with as much as I hurt there was no way I would not be in pain still.”

Autumn stepped forward. “I found out I could heal from the inside out before I was born. I healed dad when he was stabbed with a silver blade-”

“-What?” Mom and dad yelled as they looked at Autumn with a stunned look on their faces.

“Yeah, uh, I, well, we, Asher, Ander and I, healed you by leaving our body and healing yours from the inside out. I was glad we did. You had something go through your heart, causing you to bleed. It would have killed you sooner rather than later. We also found your nerve damage. You know the one you got when you thought you could fly?”

I moved my leg back and forth and didn’t have pain in it. Not any pain. My eyes had opened wide and I was sure my mouth was hanging open. “You healed me completely.” I looked at Autumn, Asher, and Ander, tears running down my face. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. We had to do something. We couldn’t stand knowing you were in pain. And, being in pain for a long time. You should have something, Griffith.” The three of them had tears running down their faces.

I got up as slow as I could, my feeling as if they would break through my chest at any moment. I walked over to them and hugged them. I looked at Autumn and smiled a cheeky smile. “Think you could fix my ribs again?”

Everyone laughed as Autumn shook her head yes. I felt as if someone was inside of me moving around. “Now?” I asked in a squeaky voice.

“Evidently,” my dad drawled as he smirked at me. “Does it feel funny with her moving around inside of you?” He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

“Eww, Dad. I didn’t before but now I do. Thanks, Dad,” I sarcastically answered. I rolled my eyes at him as everyone laughed, Micah the loudest. I didn’t want to move in case I jarred her. I didn’t know if it would make a difference or not.

I felt one rib go back in place, causing me to gasp out in shock and a little pain. “Are you okay, Griffith,” Makenzie asked as she ran over to me.

I nodded. “It only hurt for a second, but I gasped because I felt it pop in place. A weird feeling for sure.”

I felt another pop into place and my pain was completely gone. I stood up straight and took a big breath into my lungs. I might or might not have done a little jig. I couldn’t help it. The pain I had was all-encompassing, now it was all gone.

Autumn entered her body and collapsed. Micah grabbed her and sat her in his lap. “Whew, that’s harder to do the fourth time around.”

The doctor added another bag of glucose to the needle already in her hand. I hadn’t noticed she was set up for glucose. “Is my sister okay?”

The doctor nodded his head. “It takes a lot of energy out of her. She’ll be fine in about thirty minutes.”

I watched as my brothers Trace and Chase handed her energy bars and cokes. I felt as if I needed to do something to help her but I was all tapped out of energy. What? Dying takes a lot of work, at least, the coming back part did. You would think that with all the electricity I had taken I would be energized, but sadly I wasn’t. I didn’t know what to help her with. She had saved my life, along with my little monsters, my brothers. I couldn’t believe how she healed me. And, one of our dads. She healed him before she was born. She was a lot stronger than we all thought. I didn’t care how much power she had. I was happy to be able to call her my sister.

I walked over to the bed and laid back, grabbing one of her hands and squeezing it. Ander and Asher joined me on the bed. I hugged them. I was eternally grateful for my siblings - all of them. I turned my head to the rest of my family and smiled, nodding my head at them. I hoped they knew what I was thinking.

Seriously? Duh,” my wolf sarcastically said. “You’re an idiot, Griffith. They can read your mind.” My wolf, Blaze, turned around and laid down, his tail covering most of his face.

I had to agree with him. My siblings, my Beta, and my parents were laughing at my thoughts and what my wolf had said. The little shit had telegraphed his words to their wolves.

’Thanks, Blaze.”

Seriously. He was a little shit at times, but I wouldn’t want another wolf. We worked together perfectly. He could calm me or he could cause me to rage. But, he would never let me hurt someone in anger. He was the perfect balance for me. Plus, he loves our mate as much as I do. He would do anything for Flame, hell, he would lay down his life just as much as I would.

After a little bit, Autumn had color in her cheeks and her eyes were sparkling once again. “I’m back, bitches!” She yelled out, ducking her head when our mom gave her the look.
