Chapter 67 - Uh?

“I wish I could have gotten to you s-” Haley tried to say.

“-you did what you could with the information you had. Don’t worry about us, the Moon Goddess healed us completely,” the woman cut in, bowing to the Moon Goddess and us.

The woman started sniffing around her and looked to someone past my shoulder. I turned around and noticed Sonny had stopped as his eyes drank the woman in. He smiled and walked over to her.

“How?”

Sonny’s POV

The woman was looking at me as if I had two heads. I didn’t know what to do but I knew I needed to answer the question. My mate was confused about our differences. I was fourteen and she was twenty-ish. I was just as confused as she was.

“How, what? I asked her as I crossed my arms over my chest.

“How can a teenager be my mate? You look like you’re thirteen. I need to talk to the Moon Goddess about this. I’m sorry, I’m not rejecting you. I will be right back,” the lady told me as she walked away from me, breaking my heart even more than it was.

I sighed and ran my hands down my face. I was worried she was going to reject me. She looked over at me and smiled, making my heart pick up its pace. She was a beautiful lady and it wasn’t only her physical form. I could tell she was beautiful inside and out.

I felt pain erupt from every bone in my body. I was wondering if I was shifting for the first time but I don’t have a wolf. My whole body burned and ached, so what the hell was happening to my body? I tried not to scream out. I didn’t want to scare my mate, plus I didn’t want to look like a wimp.

I closed my eyes, trying to regulate my breathing. I was trying to stay calm and let whatever was happening to me happen. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to fight but it was hard not to.

I opened my eyes and looked at my mate. I noticed I could see ten times better than I could before. I stood up and fell back down, noticing I had paws instead of hands. I looked at my grandmother and saw her with a huge smile on her face. I stood up again and trotted over to her as she got on her knees. I was taller than her now. When I got right up to her I licked her cheek as she hugged me.

“You’re beautiful. You’ve earned your wolf. I had to hold back from giving you him until you met your mate. I hope you’re not mad at me,” my grandmother explained to me as I licked her face, letting her know it was okay.

My mate trotted up next to me, giving me a wolfy grin. She had a beautiful wolf. She was a pure white wolf with a star on her forehead. If I would have been in my skin I would have gasped out my surprise.

“Woo-hoo! I’m finally free. I thought you would never find your mate. I’ve been trying to contact you for a while. My name is Sun. My name is spelled S.U.N, okay?” My wolf, Sun, explained.

“Hi, Sun,” I said, not knowing what else to say. “Do you know what my mate’s name is and what name her wolf uses?”

“My wolf’s name is Moon and my name is Star. Can I ask your name?” My mate, Star, asked me.

“My wolf’s name is S.U.N and my name is Sonny,” I told her as I rubbed my neck over my shoulder.

“Uh, grandma, I don’t know how to change back,” I explained my predicament.

“Think of yourself as human. Imagine your legs, feet, torso, etc. You can do it, Sonny,” my grandmother explained out loud.

I nodded my head and rubbed against my mate’s body as I went behind a tree to change and dress. Changing back was not as bad as changing to my wolf was. I thought about myself as human. It was easier to change back to my skin side than it was changing into my wolf. I went to pull the clothes on but they didn’t fit.

“Uh, grandma, these don’t fit me anymore. And, I don’t know why,” I remarked as she snickered at me.

“So not funny. I don’t want to embarrass my mate when I come out naked as the day I was born. I had several pairs of shorts thrown to me, my grandmother still snickering. I noticed the pair of shorts I put on was one of my dad’s old ones. I let out a gasp. I was shocked that they fit so well. I needed to see a mirror as quick as I could.

“Honey, come out and show us your beautiful face. We have much to discuss,” my grandmother coaxed me out of my hiding place. Okay, I wasn’t hiding I was marveling at my grown-up body, not understanding what the hell happened to me.

“Ooh, now you need to drop fucking money in the swear jar,” my wolf, Sun, taunted me as I walked over to my surprised mate, who was looking me up and down.

“Yeah, yeah.”

I looked at my mom and dads, then my sisters. Their mouths were hanging open in shock. I guess I really have changed a lot. I stopped right in front of my grandmother. She nuzzled my neck, grabbing my mates hand and mine as she stepped up into the middle of the training circle. She turned us around towards the pack, who were waiting to see what was going on, a question I had too.

“As you could see Sonny is royalty as is his mate. I paired this wolf with Sonny for a reason. He will be the one who brings all our supernatural species together and unite them together. His mate, Star, has been royalty since the day she was born, but her parents were killed off by the defunct vampyre queen. I know they both have been taught about being stewards for all our species. Any questions?” She asked, looking around at everyone.

My grandmother grabbed Star’s hand as well as mine. She was quickly making her way to the door as I was tripped over my new large feet as my parents, sisters, and brothers followed us into my parent's office.

“Somebody better tell me why my son’s a grown man now.” My mom looked at her mom, the Moon Goddess, with a confused look on her face.

“Good question,” I stated, just noticing my voice was a few octaves lower than before.

“Uh-” the Moon Goddess said, looking around at every one of us in the room.
