Dedicated to PenumbraMINE. You always seem to make my day with your comments. Thank you.

Recap

“Did you two figure out a way to torture everyone by talking to them at the same time, using your wolves?” Star, my wolf, asked a proud gleam in her eyes.

“Yes, Star, it was time for some new tactics we may use on our enemies later,” they both said, using their wolves. I was about to say something when my eyes rolled back.

Windy’s POV

Damn visions.

All I could think of was how much pain I was in. Come on, my visions had never hurt like this one, but hurt it did. Why was everything different now? It had to do with my transformation. If If I had known it was going to be like this I would have rather stayed a ten-year-old. I wanted to call my mom and beg her to stop this pain, but I knew it was impossible.

I felt fire flash in my bones, followed by extreme cold. Liquid fire followed right after. I wasn’t getting any kind of vision yet, making me wonder if this was something else. This was the worst pain that I have ever had. I didn’t really know when or if when started and the next one started. The worse pain from all of this was feeling as if someone had stuck my finger in a light socket using a fork. It was a pain like no other. I felt as if I was in a cartoon that had a person hit by lightning and could see every one of their bones as if someone had x-ray vision.

The next indignity I had was for my body to start twitching and convulsing. I knew I looked as if I was a flounder on the sand. My flopping around was not attractive. But, did I care?

Hell no!

I felt my mother calming me enough to hear her telling me to let everything flow through my body without tensing up.

Seriously?

Has she ever been in this much pain? Has she had to...Shit! This is what my dads went though. She knew how to calm them and get them through the pain. I started to listen to what she was saying. How? I had no idea. I was just happy I could hear and feel everyone around me. It’s what kept me from screaming from the pain. I didn’t want anyone to think I was weak, especially Belle.

I did what my mom was telling me to do and tried as hard as I could to relax my muscles and not fight what was happening, keeping the moans of pain from escaping my lips. I knew the pain was from before when I felt liquid silver poured into my veins. I knew the pain would heal in a matter of minutes, I also knew my wolf was holding off on helping me, knowing I needed to go through the pain.

Why?

I had no idea.

I opened my eyes and looked at everyone at my family. I noticed they had smiles on their faces. “I’m just going to throw out a question." I looked at their faces. "What the heck was that?”

“You got two new powers,” Zane informed me as he picked me up and hugged me hard, causing me to gasp. “Shit! I forgot you would still be in pain.”

I shook my head at him. “Dad, I only gasped because I couldn’t breathe. Star has already healed my body.”

He smiled. “Did you ask Star what your new powers were?”

“I forgot.” I listened to what Star told me and started grinning like an idiot. “My first power is invisibility-” I said, before being cut off.

“-you can already be invisible, Windy,” my dad explained slowly as if I were an ignorant child.

I huffed and shook my head. I disappeared from in front of him, well, I was still sitting in front of him. Star had told me no one could smell me or hear me in this form. I knew I had received this power for a reason. It would help me to flesh out enemies. I could follow them as if I was a shadow, making them my prey, especially if they were trying to hurt anyone. I knew I would have to hide my emotions if the prey made discouraging comments about me or Sonny. I couldn't give away that I knew what they were planning if we wanted to take them down.

“Where did Windy go? I can’t smell her or sense her at all. What if she’s hurt or someone had kidnapped her?” My dad asked, bringing me out of my head.

I shook my head and rolled my eyes, moving closer to my dad a little at a time. I didn’t want to show him where I was for a little longer. The only reason I didn’t wait any longer. My mom and my other dad were starting to panic. I sighed but even that sound was quiet. I leaned over, tapping him on the shoulder, and sat down in his lap. “Here I am, Dad,” I smirked as I released myself from my first power. “Now that you know about the first power would anyone like to know what my second power is?”

I don’t think my heart could take it,” my dad, Zane, sincerely said.

“Good, because I was told to keep it a secret,” I said with sass, smiling at their disappointed faces. I knew it was killing them to not know what it was. I knew Sonny knew it but he never said anything or showed anything on his face. He was going to be a great King.

I got up from my dad’s lap. “I’m going to go pack early.”

I was about to teleport to my room when I felt as if I was blind. “Oh, shit.”

My eyes rolled to the back of my head as the visions took ahold of me. I was twitching again. I watched the preg vision roll across my eyes as if it was showing a movie. This vision was from the beginning to the end, not in clips as they had always been. There was color in this vision when there had never been any before. It was realistic I thought it was happening outside of my precog vision. It scared the shit out of me. I wasn’t sure I wanted to have precog visions anymore. I clawed my way to the top of the vision, making sure to take another look around. I needed the reality of the situation, so I didn’t make any mistake when I spoke of it.

I gasped, sitting up quickly, shuddering from what I ‘saw’. I was trying really hard not to cry. One was a warning of what could happen and another was of one that would happen if I didn’t do something.

“Hey, Windy, take a breath in. Slow and steady. Breathe in and out. Let go of the panic and think. You’re having a panic attack. Come on you can do it,” Sonny cooed as I followed the pattern of his breaths. My panic was starting to ease and I knew I needed to be calm when I told my family.

I looked around for Belle, not wanting to give her any information about my precog vision. It wasn’t as if I didn’t trust her, I wanted to be discreet with the information I was going to lay on my family. I looked at Trace as he nodded his head. I nodded back in thanks.

I was startled when my mom moved. “Are you okay?” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I nodded. “I need everyone to spell the room after we look for bugs, okay?”

They nodded their head as they moved to find any bugs. I wasn’t sure if there were any, especially since my grandma would have disabled any she heard or sensed. I needed them to check for my piece of mind. I didn’t want our enemies to find out I was going to say. They didn’t need to know who the Royal Beta was either, at least for now.

My family came back and shook their heads no. We held hands and spelled the office as tightly as we could. We needed to make sure no one could hear inside our office. It was good practice for me when I went to the Royal Castle. I would need to watch our backs from any threat. And, I was sure there would be sharks trying to stir the blood in the waters.

“Okay, Windy, the floors all yours,” Trace informed me, a silly grin on his face. I appreciated the way he tried to lighten up the mood of the room.

Too bad it wasn't going to stay that way.

I opened and closed my mouth several times, clearing my throat twice after.
