“Come on, Windy, we need to get some sleep if we are going to be ready to teleport at five.

I watched my mom as she stood up and bowed her head to me, knowing I couldn’t stand when she bowed or anyone either. I gave her a pleading face, of course, she just smirked at me. She stared at me with a huge grin on her face, until she wasn’t smiling anymore.

Well, shit!

Windy’s POV

“Seriously?” I commented as I ducked and went invisible. I teleported behind the idiot and kicked him in the ass, spelling him at the same time. I didn’t want this ass-wipe to teleport anywhere. He was mine to do with what I needed to do.

I heard Sonny yell for Maximus, but I wasn’t paying attention to him. My eyes were dead set on the man in front of me as he looked around for me. I laughed and teleported to his right side. I slammed his head into my knee. He spat out blood as I laughed again. I was truly enjoying myself. I caught Maximus as he showed up in the dining room, shaking his head at me and smiling. It wasn’t as if he could see me, but he knew I was around this ass-wipe.

I showed myself for a second and smiled at Maximus, immediately going back to my veil of invisibility. I watched as the man stood back up and looked around him. He eyed my younger brothers and made a move to step to them.

Nope.

Not having any of it.

I jumped in front of my brothers, a surprise to me at how far I moved, almost causing me to stumble. I didn’t know I could jump that far. I pulled my head out of my ass and quit marveling at my superhero moves. I waited for him to step closer. I kicked him in the face and followed it up with a jab to his eyes. I watched as he fell to the ground, blood flowing down his face. He stayed down taking away my fun time.

I watched as Sonny took a step towards him. “Stand up, Nathaniel!” I watched as the vampyre stood up, wishing I hadn’t. I had taken one of his eyes. “Who sent you here!”

I felt guilty about his eye. I don't like taking away someone's senses. It wasn't how I was taught to fight. I couldn't believe I laughed when I was fighting him - more like me fighting and him bleeding. I knew he was here to kill us. But, he didn't want to kill anyone unless there was no other choice.

The vampyre shuddered. “Marcel sent me.”

“You were a dumb vampyre to even try. It’s a death sentence to come at the Royal King and Beta,” my brother told him as the dumb as shit vampyre looked around.

“You idiot.” my brother, Sonny, sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’m the Royal King and she’s the Royal Beta,” my brother sarcastically said as he pointed at me, causing me to show myself to him. I thought the dumb shit was going unhinge his jaw.

I rolled my eyes at him. I crossed my arms under my chest and smirked. I was waiting for him to open his mouth again. He came into our pack and didn’t know who his targets were? How stupid could a person be?

“A whole lot of stupid,” my wolf sarcastically replied. “Uh, Windy, you might want to check him for weapons. I smell silver.” I shook my head at her and disappeared, showing up behind him. Before he had a chance to turn around I disappeared again under my veil of invisibility.

“Let’s get him, Windy. If he moves, tear his fangs out,” my bloodthirsty wolf growled out.

I shook my head at her again. She was all kinds of crazy. I snatched the weapon out of the vampyres pocket and showed up enough to show Sonny. But, I could still smell silver somewhere. I checked his other pocket and didn’t find anything. I saw his hand inch back to his waistband. I needed to pay attention more or I would be losing my head to someone. I shook my head and grabbed the gun, teleporting behind Sonny. He had his hands clasped behind his back. I put the weapons in his hands and teleported back to the ass. Why would he have weapons if he didn’t know who he was killing? It didn’t make sense to me. I decided to check the vampyres mind at the same time Sonny did.

“Somethings not right,” I heard Sonny say.

“Give me a second to see what’s going on, okay? Please question him about the weapons so I can see if his mind has been messed with, okay?” I asked Sonny though our mind-link.

“Go for it,” he told me.

I heard Sonny talking to the ass-wipe as I searched his mind. His mind was all screwy. He wasn’t making much sense. But, I heard him cry out in his mind. He didn’t want to kill anyone. He was feeding off some bucks and was captured by Marcel and a witch. I searched harder as I let Sonny know what was going on, making sure to pull Maximus into our conversation. I wanted to see if I could figure out who the witch was. We needed to kill her before she gets more people hurt or killed.

I pulled out of his mind quickly. I didn’t want the witch to know who was looking, but I was sure she already knew. I can’t believe this witch. We went to school together. She found her mate and moved away. I talked to her all the time on the phone. I quickly let Sonny know what’s going on. I wanted him to know what witch was responsible for most of the vampyres spells. I knew it was going to shake him. We both knew her and ate lunch with her. Hell, I was in the same dorm with her, even though she was older than me. I even knew how her mom named her, an embarrassment for her.

Ruby.

I nodded at my mom as she gathered all of us together. It only took a few minutes to break the spell - I was sure Sonny could have broken on his own if he wasn't shaken up by the information about Ruby. I probably could have done it myself but I was shaken up. I was shaken to my core.

The vampyre fell to the floor and cried as Sonny broke his bond with Marcel, making sure to give him back to his true master, Maximus. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I couldn’t break away from their orders. I did everything I could to break away.”

Sonny knelt down in front of him. “Hey, Nathaniel, it’s okay. We broke the spell and put you back to your rightful master. We knew something was up after Royal Beta Windy knocked you down-”

“-Yeah, sorry,” I sincerely said as I stopped my pacing to give him a sincere smile, feeling guilty about his eye.
