CHP:7

We arrived at the factory and a familiar red headed man is sitting at the table with a big black bird on his shoulder, I start screaming at him immediately “What the hell! Do you know what you put me through today?! Who was in on it huh?! You better spill it now!” and Sam jumped up from his chair and stared at me not saying a word so I ranted a little longer trying not to slap him. I finally calmed down when I noticed Sebastian was trying to balance on my shaking shoulders, I took a deep breathe and sat down on my cott. After a minute in silence Sam spoke up “what the hell are you talking about?” I scoffed at his words in disgust and told him about what Jack said earlier that day and shook my head. Jack took a step back and fell onto the ground whispering something to himself so I screamed to get his attention “what happened when I was gone?!” and Sam just looked at me apotagenically and said “we just wanted to help you… we all pitched in but it wasn’t good enough” I looked at his with concern and crouched down to his level and asked in a soft voice “what happened?” he was hesitant at first then started to talk slowly “Me, Spek and Kye all agreed we want you to stop living in this dump so we came up with a mission of our own. We planned it all out but we couldn’t figure out how to get the outside cameras off but we continued anyway. We all thought it went well but from what you just said i guess it didn’t” after his explanation I couldn’t be mad. I couldn’t look at him because I was too embarrassed to admit I was talking about before all that happened, so I went along with what he said. After we finished talking and apologizing to each other we got interrupted by two jealous birds, Sam’s bird started to cuddle between the extra space in our sideways hug and Sebastian decided he would put himself on top of our shoulders where they were touching. At that point all four of us were snuggled up sitting on the ground, it wasn’t until we heard the door slam open did we part. Me and Sam separated real fast and Sebastian clung onto both our shoulders keeping us from leaving each others side. When the rest of the guys walked in we were facing away from them so it looked like we were hugging but it was just Sebastian holding us together with amazing strength. Next thing I know I hear two people gasp and one laugh, Sebastian lets go of Sam and he jumps away onto his feet without hesitation. When I look up at Sam he is as red as his hair so I stare at him even more intensely trying to figure out what he was thinking but got interrupted by another laugh, just then Spek comes up to Sam and pats him on the back saying “dude! You got a chance and took it huh?” still trying to figure out what was going on I stand up and see Sebastian dead lock staring at Sam. When I look at Kye and Jax just standing near the entrance and I walk up to them and casually say “hey guys what’s up?” Jax doesn’t look at me but Kye does and he said “what exactly was going on in here? I hope we took it the wrong way” I look at him blankly. When I realize what he was implying my face goes red and I stutter out a the words “No, uh uh! Nothing happened! We just got into a argument! We made up! We’re all good here! Trust me nothing happened” Jax finally looks up but not at me just at Sam. Sam finally isn’t red anymore and decides to step in “Nothing happened, she found out about the bank and that we did it for her sake” everyone except Jax looked like they were in trouble. They kind of looked like they were a puppy about to be punished “Guys I’m not mad, actually it made me happy… But that doesn’t change the fact you did it without asking us! Come on guys!” I paused then got really depressed “guys… I thought we were family… what if something went wrong and I didn’t know” tears were running down my cheeks. I couldn’t bare to look at any of them so I turned for the door and walked out, before I left I set Sebastian down and told him to stay along with the others. I walked out into the snowy night but I didn’t go to town I grabbed a small throw blanket from Kye’s truck and went back to my tree in the woods. I got deep into the woods and found the tree I went to last time, it was large and had long outstretched branches, each one seemed to be the perfect length away from each other. I decided to climb the tree and see how high it goes, I hopped onto the lower branch and started climbing from there. Not long after I reached the high point and I could see above the tree line out to the city lights, I cried and screamed while sitting on a branch. The more I cried the more I leaned forward, when I got calmed down and sat up. I was enchanted by the lights flickering in the snow so I scooted forward to get a better look, before I knew i heard a cracking noise and I fell. When I fell there was only one thought I had “this is probably for the best, I have no family, no one to trust and no hope. I mean come on it’s almost christmas and I don’t have anyone to wish for” so I shut my eyes and waited for the ground to hit. Just Before I hit the top of the trees below I heard a loud swooshing sound my arm is yanked up and I scream at the pain shooting through my arm with my eyes still closed I felt lots of wind and cold air blowing around me. I couldn’t Imagine this was heaven, It is way too cold to be heaven. I open my eyes only to find I was in the sky looking down at the small city lights below. As I watched the lights below I felt the weight of my body shift and now I was being held in a much more comfortable position, I knew In that moment I would be okay. I gasp when I see A large Pair of grey wings flapping on each side of me but before I could say anything It felt like I was changing directions and suddenly I was doing a spinning motion and the wings were moving ever so gracefully with the wind. I then notice that I don’t have wings… wait a second, who’s wings are those? I feel a new anxiety come up in my chest and the wings even out once again, my curiosity got the better of me and I slowly reached my hand above me and makes contact with what feels like a shirt. I keep my eyes below not wanting to think about what was holding me, I take my hand back with haste and put it to my waist. When my hand arrives at my waist I feel a hand, I slowly make my hand follow it and sure enough that’s an arm attached, I pull my hand away and gasp “oh my god” but I quickly shut my mouth so I don’t catch a bug. After we finish the wide turn I see a familiar place, As I am trying to figure out where I am headed I come to and see that it’s the factory. We start descending and all I can do is shout out “no no no no!” but the person who carried me didn’t intend to stop going lower. When my feet hit the grass just out back of the factory the warmth from before leaves my back and I quickly turn around to see the angel from before standing there, I can’t think of anything to say and for a second I just stand there. Once I made up my mind I quickly jumped at the angel and wrapped my wings around him, as I hugged the angel it just stood there with it’s arms up in the air like it didn’t want to touch me or something. I let go and take a step back and the angel just looks at me with a piercing gaze but it wasn’t like before, I could move and if I worked up the courage I could talk. After a few minutes I heard someone shouting my name “Max! Maaaaax!” and the angel looks like it’s about to fly off again and without hesitation I grab his hand and run into the woods yanking him along. After a minute of running I looked down to see I had no shoes on and remember I took them off to climb the tree, a couple more yards and my feet will be completely torn up. Just as I am about to stop I hear Jax’s voice “Max! Is that you?!” I gasp trying to keep the pain in control, as I am running I trip over a huge Large branch and start falling forward. Right as I am about to land on my face I am lifted and a booming voice hits my ears “watch out, I can’t stand this anymore” it was very flat but bursting. As the angel runs he is holding me in his arms with no trouble at all, Once we reach a opening he unfurls his wings and starts to fly low to the ground skillfully dodging all the trees. We get to where we can’t hear their shouts any longer and make a slow stop to land, when he is able to stop his wings from flapping he lets me go and I step on the ground and step away and watch him fold his wings in amazement. I snap back to reality and apologize to the angel but am cut short by his rough words “You can thank me by explaining why the hell you wanted to fall” with his curt words I send my eyes to the ground and start walking back in the direction we came from in shame. I walk around him and cringe at the pain in my feet but try to show no sign of it, I don’t say a word and walk towards the factory only to be stopped by a giant wing pop out right in front of me followed by a stern voice “Why won’t you say anything? You know what would have happened if I didn’t come right?” with that last comment sending my emotions through the roof I shove his wing and dash past him with tears in my eyes. Once I find my large tree once again I fall face first onto the ground and curl up into a ball, I soon hear that booming voice once again but not before it can reach me I feel a warm hand touch my back with the soft voice of Jax “Hey, you’re okay now”. I sit up to see Jax holding a blanket out for me, I gladly take it and wrap myself up in it, Jax jumps at the sound of twigs cracking and then angel appears with his wings hidden. The two just stare at each other, as I watch them I notice the angel is a bit taller and more broad than Jax. When I compare the two Jax looks like a beagle compared to a doberman, the silence is broken when Jax speaks up “I’m sorry but I am going to ask you to leave” I could tell he was trying to make his voice deeper but the angel talks back “I’m sorry do you want her to loose anymore blood?”. Jax looks at me and removes the blanket from my body and gasps at my feet but I quickly cover myself with the blanket again with a shout “I just need a couple bandages that’s all” Jax holds out his hand with a smile and I take it to stand up. We all make our way back to the factory, once my feet his the smooth cement I am relieved that I don’t have to step on anymore twigs or rocks. I head to the table and sit down next to Spek soon followed by Jax and the angel, I quickly scramble to a sit up position. Jax makes his way to me and puts his arm around my shoulder, I get a feeling of pure tension as he does that. Spek stands up and walks over to the angel with attitude and looks up to him “So, who is this guy?” and the angel just ignores him and walks over to me so of course Spek got worked up “Hey! You can’t just ignore me!” and he is showing some of his accent. When he reaches me he bends down and pulls out a couple bandages from his pocket as he started wrapping them around my feet staring at Jax the whole time. Finally he speaks up to everyone “you are all mean to Max and you claim to be her friends, she even considered you family for a while there. Do you know what she just went through? If you did you would know that she is having a hard ti-” he get cut off by an enraged Sam “and how the hell can you tell all that from meeting her in the woods? She IS our family! There is no ques-” but I am the one to cut off Sam this time. All I could do to stop him was to scream “Shut up! Just listen to to him!” with that the room goes silent until the angel is done wrapping my feet. The angel stands up and talks once again “as I was saying… do you know what happened out there tonight?” he looks around the room and everyone is quite “of course you didn’t, well let me enlighten you on that subject. Unless Max wants to say it herself?” he looks at me and I start to tear up so he continues “she tried to put an end to her own life! Do you understand what it means to be family? If i hadn’t been there what do you think would have happened?” He lets out a sigh and removes Jax’s arm from around me. Jax didn’t even try to resist because his arm went limp, it hurt even more because nobody said anything at all. I decided to go lay on my cott and lay down, as soon as I hit the cott I drifted into a deep sleep in the silence filled room.
