Ragnor POV

It has been a week since I came back to my kingdom. At first, everyone was extremely shocked when they saw my form, but gradually came to accept me and swear their allegiance to me.

When I arrived, I sent letters to all the kingdoms, informing them of my decision, to which they all swore allegiance to me, accepting me as their king saying they had long awaited my arrival. Many of them even came to our kingdom to see..

" The Saviour"

One king however, did not return my letter and neither make any indication of surrendering.

The king of Fire.

I did not hear from Solveig either, and as much as I did not want to believe it, all the signs were showing me that he decided to side with his father.

I could only hope and pray that we did not have to go to war with them, so far I had managed to gain the support of all the kingdoms without bloodshed. I was not about to shed it now.

I sat at my window over looking the sea. I thought back to the time I saw Solveig doing the same thing.

My heart ached whenever I thought about him.

I missed him so much. I missed his arms that would engulf me and make me feel safe. I missed his lips that would send sparks throughout my body. I missed his scent that was sweeter than any perfume.

I missed everything about him.

I heard my father come in and sit next to me.

"It's beautiful isn't it. It contains so many scary creatures , yet manages to hold it's beauty" he said as he looked at the sea.

"Someone said the same thing once" I said not looking away from it. Somehow the colour of it reminded me of his eyes. Dark blue and filled with mystery.

"Really. Who?"

"Solveig.. He isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He's sometimes a lot to deal with but he has a soft heart. He showed me what it was like to be yourself." I heard him chuckle and saw him shaking his head.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked.

"Son.. that's the most ,and all I've heard you speak about since you got back. Aside from politics" he said as he ruffled my hair.

There was a pause between us as we both looked at the sea and took in the fresh night breeze.

"Dad.. I can't marry Lorrain." I said as I looked down. I didn't want to see the disappointment in his eyes when he heard me say that.

I felt him place his hand on my shoulder.

"I know son. It wouldn't be fair to either of you.. when you love another"

I shot my head up and looked at him with wide eyes.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"How could I not know. You couldn't keep your eyes off him when you first saw him, and now.. he's all you ever talk about" he said while he laughed.

"Dad.. it really isn't funny"

"You're right.. tell me.. does he feel the same way?" He asked.. adopting a more serious attitude now.

"I don't know.. maybe.. I thought he did.. but.. ugh I don't know" I said as I dropped my head in my hands out of frustration.

"Take it one step at a time son. Loving someone isn't always easy. You have to fight for it and treasure it when you have it. He'll come around when he's ready. Give him time."

"What if I give him time, and he decides it's not what he wants. I'll loose him forever"

"Then it means it was never meant. Not everyone that comes into our lives are meant to stay. Some serve as a means to make is stronger, others .. wiser.. but not all of them stay.. though I highly doubt he's one to leave without a fight..." He winked at me before he turned around to leave.

"Dad! What does that mean.." I called after him.

"Call it my intuition... " he said without facing me and walked out of my room.

I picked up the letter that was delivered to me this afternoon. I had no energy to read it then and just placed it on my desk.

I read the contents of the letter, making my heart drop.. I had expected it.. but a small part of me hoped that I was wrong..

I dropped the letter and fell to the ground as it dawned upon me.

I would have to fight him. I would have to hurt him.. I would have to.... kill him.

I was all too familiar with the aspects of war. We were to fight until one of us fell indicating that the battle had ended and the ruler had died.

I had all the other kingdoms on my side, whereas the Fire soldiers were on their own. They didn't deserve to die for a man like that.. A man they call king.

I announced my decision to go to war with the King of Fire and all the kingdoms showed their support of my decision. In a way, everyone was fed up with this King of Fire already.

I stood in front of my mirror as I fixed my armor and took in my appearance..

I didn't have the same slim and slender figure I had before. I was muscular now and looked like a real man. A dominating, strong male.

But inside.. I was still the same person I was when I met him.

I still longed to be held by those strong arms, I longed for him to kiss me like he used to.. I longed for the feeling of him inside me..

I missed every touch of his.. every inch of his body.

I brought myself out of my thoughts, and convinced myself that it was a lie. That he didn't really love me like that.

I took my sword and turned to leave. My father was waiting for me outside and put his hand on my shoulder when he saw me.

"Are you okay.. I can't imagine that this is easy for you.. just know .. you're not alone." He said as he smiled .

I forced my self to smile, even though.. all I wanted to do was crawl up into a ball and cry.

This was it.. it's really over now..
