Adella Arcos - POV

“Good morning.” Elizabeth greeted me when I sat down at my desk, and I waved at her in greeting. “I bought us some donuts,” she said, and opened the box and showed it to me.

“Wow, that looks tempting,” I said, and she nodded her head. I never knew that I would ever be able to meet a new friend in this foreign town, but Elizabeth has been very sweet and helpful from the very beginning, and we have started to form a beautiful relationship in this one week that we have known each other.

“So, do you have any plans for this weekend?” she asked me, and I shook my head. “Shall we go out shopping then? My mother’s birthday is next week.”

“Sure, I also want to buy a few things,” I said, once we had agreed on a suitable date and time, we began our work. Since Thanksgiving is only a few days ahead, the hotel has been very busy, except for the occasional coffee break, we never really have the time to relax and have a proper conversation.

“Are you done with your work?” Elizabeth asked me, and I nodded my head, shut down my computer, and grabbed my bag. After giving our shift to someone else, both Elizabeth and I walked out of the hotel. “You wait here, I will go and bring my car,” she said and then walked away to the car park.

After that bizarre incident a week ago, I never declined Elizabeth’s offer to drop me home. I know I should have kept that rental car with me, but my bill was only piling up, so I decided that the best option for me would be to use public transport. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Beep.

Elizabeth honked, breaking me from my trance, so I quickly walked towards her car and got in. “Do you want to buy groceries?” Elizabeth asked me while she slowly merged into the main road, and I shook my head.

“No, you can just drop me home,” I said and leaned back in my seat. “So, how is your boyfriend?” I casually began when a smile appeared on her face. No one can ever replace Summer’s place as my best friend, but at times, it is also nice to have a human friend because their world is so different from ours, and it always fascinated me how they can easily fall in love with anyone unlike us.

“He is doing great. He said that he would come to visit me next week,” she said, and a rosy blush formed on her face.

“Isn't that great? Don't forget to introduce me to your boyfriend.” I said, and she nodded her head.

“See you tomorrow, Ella.” Elizabeth waved at me as I got down from the car.

“Bye, take care,” I said, and then she drove away. I walked into the apartment building, and after collecting all my letters, I was about to head upstairs when I heard the landlord’s house door open, and he stepped out with a bouquet of colorful roses in his hand.

That bouquet looked very peculiar in his hand.

“Miss.Arcos,” he called out my name, sounding annoyed, which made me wonder what did I do? I don't think I went against any of his rules to make this old man so grumpy. “Who am I to you?” he asked me, and for a second, I was confused.

“Um, you are my landlord, Mr.Liam.”

“Well, I hope you make your husband understand that too,” he said.

“My husband?”

What is this guy talking about? Is he drunk or what?

Mr. Liam walked towards me and pushed the bouquet my way before stepping back. “I was wondering the same thing too, because you never mentioned that you are married,” he said, and he was waiting for an answer.

I never knew that too, old man.

“I didn't think that fact would have been needed, Mr. Liam. He is out of town for business, and we have lived most of our lives apart. We only meet each other for vacation.” I lied.

I will have to first figure out who this mystery husband of mine is.

“Kids these days.” Mr.Liam grumbled and rolled his eyes at me. “You guys are so weird,” he said and walked away from me. I waited till he closed the door before I made my way upstairs. After locking my door behind me, I placed all the letters on the coffee table, took the bouquet, and looked around it when I finally found the small note.

What I did cannot be forgiven easily, but can we at least speak so that I can explain myself?

Jose.

My blood boiled in anger when I saw this note. I tore it from the bouquet, crushed it in my hand, and threw it in the dustbin. I was about to throw the bouquet in the trash, but I momentarily stopped. The flowers he sent were the exotic kind, which must have cost a lot.

I am not a huge fan of wasting money, and I didn't have the heart to throw the flowers away, so I kept them in a vase filled with water to give to someone else.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

“Adella has joined the White Moon pack,” he said. This news made millions of butterflies erupt within me.

“Were you able to find out where she is living?” I asked him, and he shook his head.

“I was not able to retrieve all that information. Only Dylan can help us with that.”

“Then, let's go and meet him,” I said, and he nodded his head before we walked towards the pack house.

Knock knock.

Sebastian knocked on the door before he stepped back, waiting for Dylan to call us. A few minutes later, the door opened, and our general walked out of the office. “Good evening, Beta.” he bowed at Sebastian before he turned around to face me. “Gamma.”

“Good evening, general,” I said before we walked into the office.

“What do you need me to do now?” Dylan asked us the moment I closed the door behind me.

“We want you to get Adella’s address for me,” I said.
