“Dad, happy birthday. This is my gift” Frederic placed the gift he brought, which appeared to be some coffee beans, on the table. 

My father entered politics, so it wouldn’t be appropriate to give him luxury goods. If he wore luxury goods, it would go against the clean and honest atmosphere. 

My dad liked to drink coffee. Frederic was very smart, he catered to his preferences. 

In front of Frederic, my dad didn’t directly unwrap the gift packaging. He just smiled and said, “I’m happy that you could come. You don’t need to bring any gifts.”

“What were you doing?” Frederic asked coldly. 

“Give me a ride,” I said as I fastened my seatbelt with a cheeky grin. I had asked Marcel to take my car for maintenance, and it would be quite troublesome to take a taxi back home. 

Frederic pursed his thin lips and looked displeased. He was definitely not willing to accompany me, but it was inappropriate to leave me behind since we were now at my doorstep. 

Finally, he agreed to my request and drove me back to Maple Villa.

In the car, I smelled a faint fragrance, which was very similar to the scent of Emilia. Did she sit in the passenger seat of this car this morning? 

Didn’t she tell me she was going to block Frederic? How come they met again?
