Chapter 99 

I was just about to pick up the phone when Frederic grabbed it and threw it on the ground. Then he pulled the blanket and covered us, continuing to toss and turn. 

The next morning when I woke up, I felt a bit disoriented. I turned my head and to my surprise, I found Frederic still sleeping beside me, not having gone to the office early like the previous two times. 

It’s really strange. Even though I was his rightful wife, I still feel a little uneasy after being affectionate. I keep thinking about how Emilia would react and if she would cause 

trouble with Frederic. 

But thinking positively, what I wanted was for them to not have peace, right? 

I considered myself as the “third party” and Emilia as the “original partner“, everything was turned upside down. 

Just as I was gazing at Frederic’s sleeping face, his phone rang again, and it was Emilia calling. Without thinking, I picked up the phone and answered the call. 

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone, and I too fell into silence. 

Emilia probably can’t face herself now. Initially, she hadn’t really accepted Frederic, but now she’s been sending messages and making phone calls like crazy, seemingly

connected, she didn’t know what to say.

I quickly went downstairs and sure enough, Kira was waiting for me in the living room. Upon seeing me, she awkwardly stood up and greeted, “Mrs. Hudson.” 

“Kira, how did you come here? I only found out about Frederic unilaterally dismissing you afterward, otherwise I would never have let you go!” I walked over and held Kira’s hand, then sat back down on the sofa. There were some vegetables and fruits in plastic bags next to Kira’s feet, which she must have brought. 

“Mrs. Hudson, ah, I never expected Mr. Hudson to be the boss in charge of the Gemini Chemical Co. project,” Kira said with an uneasy expression. “After I found out that Derick had hurt you, I couldn’t face staying here anymore.
