The men who tried to bribe Loid were shocked.
Not only did they fail to bribe Loid, but they might even risk getting investigated.
“Governor, we are just doing what Kaze Lee did! People said he gave you gifts and got released, so we thought of the same!”
The first man who presented the gift, Alvin, explained as he wiped his sweat off his forehead.
He resented Kaze for misleading them. It was that idiot’s fault that they were in this awkward situation.

“That idiot is a menace! He always did things the wrong way! He made the news for giving the governor presents and we all looked down on his despicable ways!”
The others echoed in agreement.
Loid did not say anything and they thought he accepted their explanation.
Cosmo breathed a sigh of relief. He added, “Governor, you should do something about Kaze Lee, maybe make an example out of him.”
“You must punish him, or lock him up! He’s a public menace that disrupts the city’s order,” Ivy said.
“Look at you people, being wise and wicked at the same time. You people make it sound like Kaze Lee is the only villain here and you people are the heroes.”
Loid laughed out of anger. “I don’t care what the news or rumors said. I’ll make things clear for you people.
“Blake Bowman openly accepted gifts on his first day on the job. Quartet Group and the other companies that did not send him gifts were all maliciously targeted and put in a difficult position.
“I relieved Blake Bowman from the mayor’s position because he’s an ass, not because I took Kaze Lee’s gifts. Those gifts are just a sign of gratitude for me

“As for you people, learning all the wrong things and spreading false news, you should be investigated and punished!”
Loid silenced the entire cafeteria with his shouts and left everyone stunned.
