Chapter 22 Can’t You Check Your Phone?

Meanwhile, using a different SIM card, Celia reached out to someone. “Sure. I can help you with that tomorrow.”

“That’s fantasticl Celia, you’re awesome. Shall we meet at Dean& Ken Restaurant tomorrow?”

“Sure.”

Celia also wanted to go there for a cup of coffee.

However, this time, she decided not to bring Tammy along in case any unexpected situations arose. She still had to stay in the country for a period and enroll Tammy in an international kindergarten someday.

Coincidentally, Chelsea brought up this topic during their meal. “I’ve been able. to locate a kindergarten for Tammy recently. Osilfield International Kindergarten is pretty good, though their admission requirements are strict. I’ll give it a try.”

After pondering for a while, Celia replied, “Let me take care of that.”

Chelsea replied, shaking her head, “Just leave this to me. Don’t worry. Since I’m the daughter of the Cole family, I doubt any kindergarten would dare disrespect.

me.”

Celia simply smiled. “Alright, you can take care of Tammy there, then.”

With joy in her eyes, Chelsea grabbed a cake and brought it to Celia’s mouth. “Celia, eat more. You’re too skinny.”

Celia had always had a fast metabolism and struggled to gain weight despite her healthy appetite. Combined with her busy lifestyle in recent years, she naturally became quite slim. She smiled gently, appreciating the presence of such a good

friend.

That night, Chelsea stayed over at Celia’s place. She left early the next morning with Tammy because she wanted to get the enrollment paperwork done.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly until the afternoon when Celia woke up and drove to Dean& Ken Restaurant.

No VIPs were present today at the restaurant, and only a few scattered customers. occupied the limited seats.

Dominic sat by the window, his face now filled with gloominess and an

unsettling atmosphere surrounding him. Leon, who stood nearby, was under pressure and began to feel the need to excuse himself from the situation.

“What time is it now?” Dominic asked.

Leon hesitated for a moment and responded, “It’s four in the afternoon.”

Dominic’s sullen expression deepened.

In a rush, Leon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said, “Mrs. Dawson might have been delayed by something.”

“She hasn’t replied to my text,” Dominic frowned slightly, puzzled by Celia’s lack of response. In fact, Celia had already discarded that SIM card and informed.

everyone except the Dawson family of her new number.

Sensing Dominic’s irritation, Leon tried to offer some plausible explanations. “Maybe she’s busy. Or perhaps she accidentally missed your text?”

Dominic stared at him coldly. “Do you really believe she wouldn’t use her phone for an hour while doing anything else besides sleeping?”

Though not a heavy phone user, Leon understood the importance of timely responses. He would check his phone every twenty minutes, keeping up with text. “Perhaps she’s not feeling well and is resting,” Leon suggested weakly, even though he didn’t fully believe it himself.

Dominic sneered softly, his patience wearing thin. “Even if she’s not feeling well. She wouldn’t dare to ignore my texts.”

Sweat began to bead on Leon’s forehead as he discreetly sent several more texts. to Celia’s number. Dominic was clearly already in a foul mood, and if Celia didn’t respond soon, he was likely to lose his cool.

Suddenly, Leon’s eyes caught sight of a stunning woman in a blue dress. His face lit up, and he couldn’t help but exclaim, “Sir, Mrs. Dawson has arrived! She must have had something urgent to deal with earlier and came as soon as she was

done.”

Dominic’s expression gradually softened as he responded casually, “It’s not too late.”

Suddenly, his attention was drawn to the man standing next to Celia. This man. wore stylish gold–rimmed glasses and had fair skin, exuding an aura of gentleness with a hint of delicacy, while his eyes conveyed deep affection,

emphasizing his gentle and reliant nature.

Dominic’s lips immediately tightened upon recognition.

Even though he didn’t usually pay much attention to those in upper–class circles, his exceptional memory came in handy this time.

The person beside Celia turned out to be Jayden Fisher, the infamous second young master of the Fisher family, known for his lavish lifestyle.

A surce of murderous intent flashed in Dominic’s eyes

Upon entering the restaurant, Celia overheard Leon’s voice nearby. Being neither deaf nor blind, she followed the sound and discovered the two individuals.

Celia’s lips twitched as she found herself encountering Dominic wherever she went. Fortunately, she hadn’t brought Tammy along.

She wondered why Dominic kept staring at her, but she didn’t think it had anything to do with her.

“Celia, why are you just standing there? Come over. Let’s not waste time,” Jayden asked, attempting to grab Celia’s hand.

However, before his hand could touch hers, Dominic forcefully intercepted it.

Dominic twisted Jayden’s hand, causing him to cry in pain.

“Who the hell is you?” Jayden exclaimed angrily, looking at the person who had dared to hurt him.

Surprised and irritated, Jayden froze in place, momentarily forgetting the pain shooting through his hand.

“Mr. Dawson? What are you doing here?!” Jayden gaped as soon as he saw

Dominic.

Realizing that Jayden had suffered enough, Dominic released his grip on his hand, shaking it off like he was getting rid of something repulsive. He pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his own hand, a look of disgust on his face. “Go away,” he

sneered.

“Alright, alright, I’ll leave…” Jayden muttered, sensing the power fear that

Dominic commanded amongst their generation. Even their elders held Dominic in high regard.

Jayden immediately wanted to turn around and leave, but he soon realized there was a problem.

Despite Dominic’s intimidating posture, Jayden couldn’t resist asking. “Mr.

Dawson, what have I done to offend you? Why are you treating me so unfriendly?”

Dominic coldly stared at him without answering.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Jayden took a few steps back and was almost in tears. He dared not ask any more questions and shamefully turned away to walk off.

Celia was speechless, unsure of how to react to the situation.

Soon after, Jayden texted Celia, “Celia, can you help me? I don’t need any other kind of help now, but could you please ask Mr. Dawson why he despises me? I am willing to do anything for you in return for this favor.”

Celia didn’t know what to do. She wasn’t entirely aware of what had happened, but the situation seemed clear, with Dominic standing directly in front of her.

Celia lifted her head slowly, contemplating for a moment before directly asking, “What exactly did Jayden do to offend you?”

Dominic’s icy stare intensified, the temperature growing even colder.

Celia knew Dominic very well. She was aware that when he wore that expression, it meant he was truly enraged.

She recalled that the last person who had infuriated him had his company acquired the next day. “It’s better not to risk asking,” she thought to herself.

“Let’s just pretend I didn’t ask. I’m leaving,” Celia said, turning to walk away.

But suddenly, Dominic’s voice came out coldly, “Are you going to find that guy?”

Celia realized he was referring to Jayden. “No, he’s already gone,” she replied.

“Oh, it seems that you had just read his text,” Dominic said.

Celia suddenly felt slightly confused.

Dominic stared at her with cold eyes and questioned, “You said you didn’t have time to check your phone earlier, and now you have time to read his message?”

Leon nervously perspired, quickly interjecting, “Mrs. Dawson, didn’t you. mention that you were too busy to look at your phone earlier?”

Celia answered perplexedly. “When did I say I didn’t have time? I do have time to check my texts.”

Leon was left speechless, witnessing his buss on the verge of losing his temper.

Dominic appeared notably distraught. He approached Celia directly and unexpectedly enveloped her in an embrace

Celia was taken aback by this sudden gesture since she and Dominic had never been so intimate in public before. She couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to change Dominic’s behavior su drastically.
