Chapter4 Awful Prank

Celia furrowed her brow slightly. She had been secretly married to Dominic for several years, and they had managed to keep it hidden from everyone.

But she was shocked to learn that Dominic hadn’t taken any measures to protect their secret after what happened last night.

While Celia was talking to Chelsea, she sent a message to Ryan, asking him about what had happened the night before and how things stood right now.

“Boss, Dominic removed all the surveillance cameras at the bar, and we already took care of the situation there,” Ryan responded.

Celia arched her brow slightly, as she knew it meant that this information would almost certainly not be leaked.

She was intrigued by how this information, which was not supposed to be shared with others, had somehow leaked out.

“Please, Celia, be honest with me. How lo

have you been dating Dominic?

Don’t think you can hide it from me! I’m your best friend!” Chelsea said coyly. over the phone.

Celia asked tentatively, clearing her throat, “Do you have any photos? How come you believed that rumor?”

Chelsea replied, “Everyone is spreading this news, but there doesn’t seem to be any evidence.”

“That’s not true,” Celia said straightforwardly.

She then sent a message to Leon, requesting that he look into the situation.

“It’s a shame it’s not true!” Chelsea didn’t dwell on the subject but then said, as she felt a little disappointed, “I thought it was true, especially given the good. relationship between the Dawson family and your family There were rumors circulating a few years ago that you were Dominic’s secret wife.”

Someone had seen Dominic and a woman getting their marriage license, and from there, the rumor spread throughout high society.

The lady was so undressed then that she didn’t even show her face. People would have been more eager to discuss this gossip otherwise.

Celia responded flatly, “It’s not me. In fact, Dominic is in love with someone else.”

“Exactly! I know you wouldn’t be interested in a man who has feelings for someone else, Celia. That’s why we’re now calling Dominic a “scumbag.” Grace was still abroad at the time, so that woman wouldn’t be her. I can’t believe he’s got back with Grace again.”

Chelsea said, tapping her head in regret, “Oh, I can’t believe I fell for their lies. Let’s go out and do some shopping, Celia. Please give me the opportunity to apologize to you.”

Celia had been extremely busy for the past month, so she jumped at the chance to take a break and agreed.

She believed that her involvement with Dominic did not need to be revealed to more people because it was already history. In addition, no one would ever find

out about it in the future.

Celia and Chelsea made plans to meet at their favorite shopping center.

As soon as Chelsea saw Celia, she noticed the hickey on her neck. “Oh my goodness! Celia, are you seeing someone these days?”

“No, it’s just an accident,” Celia replied, frustrated internally, thinking, “Damn it! Dominic went over the line! How could he have forgotten not to leave any marks

on me?”

Chelsea chuckled as she said, “Don’t worry. We’re all grown–ups here.”

Although Chelsea had dated many guys before, she never did anything inappropriate, especially when she had a boyfriend.

Celia still liked her as a friend because they shared some similarities.

After putting the Dominic incident behind them, the two girls went out for coffee. They had just entered their favorite boutique shop when she heard at woman say something loudly.

Celia looked over in the direction the voice had come from. As soon as she saw Grace, who was pale and frail in a snow–colored tulle dress, one word came to her mind: “angelic bitch.”

Grace smiled gently as she looked at herself in the mirror, saying, “Yes, it does suit me. Thank you, Lydia.”

Chelsea rolled her eyes and said, “What bad luck to run into them.” when she saw

them.

While Lydia Brady got along well with Grace, she couldn’t stand being around Chelsea. They had been at odds with each other ever since they were young children and enjoyed putting each other down.

Lydia had always been a fan of metal–rock music. She looked like a tomboy with her short hair, metal earrings, ripped jeans, and her studded denim jacket.

Lydia and Grace made an interesting contrast because of their completely. different fashion choices.

Chelsea lost interest in entering the store, but Lydia soon noticed them.

“Oh, look who’s here. Miss Cole and the woman who seduced Mr. Dawson, Lydia sneered coldly as she made her way straight for Celia.

“Who do you think you are, Celia Burton? You’re just a distant relative of the Burton family. How dare you steal Grace’s man?” Lydia said aggressively to Celia.

Grace came over awkwardly and drew Lydia back. As Grace cast a glance at Celia. She said, “Enough, Lydia. Please don’t say anything like that.”

Lydia glared angrily at Celia and asked, “Why can’t I say it? It’s the truth, isn’t it? She really did it!”

Grace bit her lower lip as tears welled up in her eyes.

Lydia had a lot of sympathy for Grace. “How can you be so cocky as a mistress?” she asked, her gaze shifting to Celia. “I’m going to teach you a lesson today.”

She raised her hand and attempted to slap Celia across the face.

Everyone around them was taken aback by how quickly the incident unfolded.

Lydia came from a wealthy family, but she was known for acting on impulse. Chelsea prepared to intervene, fearing that her seemingly weaker best friend Celia would lose.

Celia’s slender hand caught Lydia’s hand the next second.

“Why do you want to teach me a lesson? Who do you think you are?”

“Let go of me!”

Lydia experienced a sharp pain in her wrist. When she heard a crisp sound of bone breaking, her face turned even paler.

“Ah!” Lydia let out a piercing scream of pain that echoed throughout the store.

Celia shrugged off that hand with case. On the other hand, Lydia staggered. backward, knocking over a few clothing racks and ending up disheveled.

“Celia, what are you doing?”

Grace was stunned and rushed over to Lydia to help her in getting up.

Lydia gripped her hand, tears streaming down her cheeks from the pain.

Chelsea was surprised, but she remained by her best friend’s side. “You started it first! You wanted to slap Celia.”

“What’s the big deal about slapping her? She’s the slut who seduced Dominic.”

“That’s nonsense! Celia didn’t seduce…”

Just then, footsteps were heard nearby, and a man’s cold voice rang out slowly, “What’s going on here?”
