Hero Dyes - Blue
I'm A Sage Now

Yosin, Son of the Sage: I jerked my upper body straight up as I inhaled deeply. Apparently doing both simultaneously causes a massive coughing fit. After I settled myself I swallowed hard and looked around. I was sitting on a bed, a very comfortable bed too. I was dressed in something other than what I remember wearing when we went to take down Lord Magnus. Before I could think of that event a loud boom came from the window and startled me. I saw bright and brilliant lights flashing in the night sky. Magic Pops is what they were called. Back then, most likely before my father’s time, mages used such magic to signal an SOS, or a recon point. Sometimes it was used to alert others of danger, other times to state the threat was over and it was safe to come out of hiding. Now it was used for celebrations and festivals. This brought a world of curiosity to my mind as I moved myself off the bed and went to the window.

People were dancing, feasting, celebrating and having a good time. Now my mind wondered how long was I out for and what exactly did I miss? Either there was a festival day I somehow managed to forget, or what we set out to accomplish came to pass. I winced a bit as the memories were flooding into the front of my mind. I was afraid, weak, ashamed, and a coward for leaving. Then again, I remember my father calling me an idiot for leaping in front of that arrow. I’m not sure what compelled me to do so. What about those voices I heard? Two lovely female voices speaking to me in a song-like manner. What was it that they said to me?

“Planning on joining them?” My father’s voice came from the entrance of the room. I looked at him and smirked as I shook my head no.

“I’m comfortable right here actually. I mean, look at this room? It screams royalty. Honestly speaking, and no offense to you and mother, but I’ve never slept in a more comfortable bed.” We both smirked at my comment as he waved his hand dismissively as to say no offense taken. My smile dimmed as I braved to ask my next question.

“Speaking of sleeping, how long has it been?” My father’s smile dimmed as well as he moved closer.

“Not long, actually. Magnus’s defeat was only several hours ago. All you really missed was Ulrik’s placement as the new lord of this land. Other than that, they’ve been celebrating ever since.” I nodded my head as we both watched the people carry on in their festive activities. I swallowed hard in preparation of my next words.

“Father, I’m sorry for acting foolish. I shouldn’t have risked my life for her.” I only got a sigh as a reply at first. He then patted my back to comfort me as he spoke.

“To further explain your current situation, you’re now immortal. You can not die, much like me and my parents, and their parents, and so on. You’ve been cursed like the rest of us. However, there is a difference.” He paused as he looked at me with sadden eyes.

“Because your mother was so hell bent on protecting you from the tyrants, she had me place a curse on you. It was a curse I fully didn’t understand, yet I knew I could perform it thanks to my knowledge I contained. Upon placing the curse upon you I managed to summon the Dark Geminis to complete the curse. A sacrifice must be made, a trade off for your immortality. To be honest this wasn’t what I had planned. We simply wanted to protect you. Having said that, your mother’s words were exactly this… Ensure his safety, make sure he never dies. Keep him alive from the tyrants that may try and take his life.” He took a moment as the memory seemed to be painful to recall. A tear rolled down his cheek as he looked away from me and back out the window.

“I remember those words clearly, for they were repeated to me by the Dark Geminis. It wasn’t even a question of what sacrifice needed to be made. Since I was already cursed my life couldn’t be taken. So they cursed your mother instead. Of course, I pleaded with them to have a drawback to this curse. I didn’t want you to live forever like I have. They were going to place the same absurd curse that was placed upon me. However, thanks to my begging they made an exception. Instead of binding you to an unachievable task, they bound you to the amulet that I wear as a guide. Should this amulet ever break, then your life will end.” My eyes were widened with shock. This information, this news, this reveal stunned me to the core. I felt my sweat running down my back as I placed my hands on the window seal to inhale the fresh air before me. It was calming but not as effective as I thought it would be.

“My son, you are the first sage that can actually die.” He added, which didn’t bring me any comfort at all.

“Of course, this amulet can not be easily destroyed.” I perked up and faced him as a slight smirk spread across his cheek.

“The Gemini Goddesses assured me of that. Apparently there is only one way to destroy it. Trust me, none of these tyrants would be able to, even if they spent the rest of their undead lives trying. No worries, my son. You’ll live longer than me, perhaps. Of course, that is only if you wish.” No words could combat my father’s speech. I couldn’t even bring myself to say thank you, as it seemed improper to do so. Honestly I was filled with mixed emotions as I processed all of this. On one hand I had hope in my future. On the other hand, once we complete this task and all is right in our kingdom, my father will finally receive the rest he deserves. As for me, I’ll continue to live on with no purpose. Also, this trade off has sent my mother to her grave.

“I’m sorry, father. This is all very hard to embrace. I don’t know what to say.” I finally replied. He smiled and shook his head with content.

“Say nothing, and we’ll leave it at that.”

“Excuses me, brave sages.” A knight addressed us as he waited at the entrance of the room.

“Bridget, Knight of the Twin Swords, has requested the presence of Yosin the sage.” Upon hearing this my father’s attitude completely changed. He was annoyed that she was summoning me. It didn’t matter for what, he could care less. He noticed I looked to him for advice on a reply. He simply shrugged and waved his hand dismissively.

“Do as you please, you’re a man of your own mind.” He added as he returned his sights to the window. I found it admiring that he wasn’t looking at the people but up at the night sky, as if that was more important than what was transpiring down below him. “Tell her I’ll be there shortly.” I replied, to which my father huffed as the knight nodded and set off to relay the message.

“You don’t think it wise for me to go to her, correct?” I asked, to which he nodded in agreement.

“Regardless of my own thoughts, I would have told you to go to her if you would have asked for my advice. After all, you did aid in her achievement of slaying the tyrant. Why not give you credit where it’s due?” This was a strange phrase he produced. Was she planning on giving me something for my idiotic heroics?

“Go, it isn’t proper to keep the savior of this land waiting.” he added, as if trying to push me out the door it seemed. I slowly nodded and adjusted my clothes as I headed for the door. I turned to admire my father one last time before departing towards her chamber. Once her door came in sight, each step I took I felt like something wasn’t right. My heart was pounding louder and louder. I was fearfully excited, and I hadn’t a clue why. Maybe I did. Maybe I was wishing my impure thoughts weren’t the reality of her summoning me.

“Kill her…” Two voices echoed in my mind. I quickly spun around to see if anyone was around. There was no one. The long hallway was empty. Everyone was outside celebrating.

“Killer her, for our sake alone…” They spoke once more, this time outside my mind and literally behind me. I slowly turned to face the speakers and gasped in fear. Two divine looking beings shrouded in a dark purple aura floated before me. They were unclothed, almost translucent, beings. It didn’t take long to figure out who these two lovely, very busty and curvy, goddesses were.

“Dark Geminis… I-I… How can I…” I couldn’t formulate a proper sentence as their appearance baffled me.

“Kill her, to save our mistake…” Their words struck my heart and snapped me out of the love stricken trance I was in.

“Kill her? Kill who?” I asked, to which I waited as they slowly drew near to me. They pressed their bodies upon my own, one of each side of me. They leaned their faces in towards mine. Their lips caressed my ears as they softly and seductively whispered.

“The Knight of the Alliance Bloodshed… Tilly… Faidon… Bridget... Within a blink of an eye I was alone again. My heart was racing as I panted out of breath. I gripped my chest to steady my heart as I leaned against the wall. Sweat drenched me as I wiped my forehand to prevent any from getting into my eyes. Why would I experience such a thing? What purpose would this bring? How should I proceed now that I’ve witnessed such a phenomenon? Was it real, did I imagine it? The bigger question was, do I carry out this order and end her life? My mind swam with all different thoughts as I slowly steady myself back on my two feet. I took in a deep breath and exhaled as I fixed my eyes on my destination. I couldn’t decide here and now. I’ll have to see her first in order to determine if this was an actual encounter with the Dark Geminis. Most importantly, I won’t decide until I bring this up to my father. Until then, I’ll go to her. I’ll accept whatever reward she has for me, then report back to my father. Maybe he could make heads or tails of this event…
