High School Terrans
Chapter 12

Kyle, Dan, Morgan, and Nicholas sat in Mr. Wright’s new Terran history class as Mr. Wright stood and spoke at the front of the room.

“So after spending several years exploring the first Terrans searched out from a world they could colonize from the group that set out,” he explained. “They were successful in finding one that was very similar to Earth’s own atmosphere. Some of the most extraordinary indigenous plants and wildlife had already thrived for decades on the planet. For the next ten years the first colonists built a society where all of the Terrans were able to develop their powers more fully.”

“Do you feel the first Terrans had an influence on the Egyptians?” Kyle asked.

“I’m sure you are referring to the Terran tomb found in Giza.”

“Yes.”

“It’s very possible, “Peter said. “There have been several stories of aliens and how they reflected ancient Earth cultures. Atlantis is one example.”

“Like the obelisk,” Dan answered.

“Exactly. The obelisk is a rare piece. Hopefully the museum will be able to track down whoever stole and recover it intact.”

The bell rang and everyone started to rise out of their chairs and walk out.

“That is all for today. Tomorrow we will start on the development of the acts on Terra and the formation of the Council of Elders. However, I’d like to see Morgan, Nicholas and Dan before you leave.”

“I wonder what he wants,” Kyle said.

“Don’t know, I’ll catch up with you.”

“It’s cool. I will just wait out in the hallway.”

Dan stood together with Morgan and Nicholas surrounding Mr. Wright’s desk.

“Principal Roberts told me that some of you have an interest in creating a sky surfing team but that you needed a faculty adviser?”

“That’s right,” Dan said.

“I am happy to offer my services,” he replied. “I was a champ for four years straight so I know a little bit about the game.”

Morgan, Nicholas, and Dan all smiled together.

“We’ve seen him on the water,” Morgan said. “He’s really good.”

“Thanks. Comes naturally for me.”

“It definitely shows,” Morgan said.

“The team will be like your family in no time,” Peter said shaking Dan’s hand. “The school has arranged a meet with another school in the district for competition in the next couple of days which will give you enough time to fit in some practice. You all better get going. Don’t want to make you late for your next class.”

They all walked out into the hallway where Kyle was still waiting for Dan to finish.

“By the way I am hosting a party at my house if you’d like to come,” Morgan said. “Really?”

“Yeah, a team get together,” he said. “A way for us to all get to know each other.”

“Thanks. I’ll be there.”

Dan waved to them seeing Morgan and Nicholas walk off and turned back to Kyle.

“So what did he want to see you for?”

“He just wanted to talk about the team.”

“Mr. Wright’s is your sky surfing coach?”

“Yeah, he volunteered himself. The first meet is already set. You know you should join me. It’d be good to have you around.”

“No, you always had more interest in it than me,” Kyle said. “It’s alright. All I really do it for now is for recreational fun.”

“Morgan and Nicholas seem to be good guys. Definitely focused individuals if you judge them by the way they surf.”

“Glad you found something to be a part of.”

“Yeah, Morgan is throwing a party at his house that he just invited me to,” Dan said, quickly stopping in place.” Whoa, I’m sorry. I should have asked if I could bring a guest. Think they wanted to keep it just the members of the team.”

“That’s okay,” Kyle replied, shrugging his shoulders. “They’ll be other parties to attend. Sarah and I are double dating with Christian and Anna this weekend anyway.”

At the end of the school day, Peter Wright drove up the driveway of the stately Malibu mansion with the obelisk safely tucked away in a small case beside him. He rang the doorbell finding an old butler dressed in a tux greeting him at the door.

“I’m here to see him,” Peter said.

“He’s been expecting you Mr. Wright. Come in.”

The butler walked Peter down the hall to the den opening the large double doors.

“Mr. Wright is here to you see you, sir.”

From his desk, an old gentleman looked up from his book seeing Peter walking inside carrying a silver case in his hand.

“You can leave us,” the gentlemen said to the butler.

They both waited until the butler had safely closed the doors.

“So were you successful?”

Peter placed the case on the desk and opened it up placing the obelisk down in front of him.

“Good work. And nobody suspects you at the school?”

“Not at all,” Peter said, smiling.

“I will have our Professor White look at the markings,” he said. “This can never get back to us if our plan is to work.”

“I understand, sir,” he answered. “What would you like for me to do next?”

“Lay low for now. Hide in plain sight.” Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Peter’s employer rose from his chair with the obelisk in his hand opening the faux set of books behind him on his shelf finding a safe. He unlocked it and put the obelisk in and closed everything back up.

“Phase one of our plan is completed.”
