Concerned that Robert would start crying, Mrs. Cooper immediately hurried to Robert's room to check on him.

Shortly after, she walked out with Robert in her arms.

Robert pouted as soon as he saw Layla holding onto Hayden.

"Layla, you shouted so loudly that I think you woke all the living." Mike poured himself a glass of water.

"Boohoo... Why didn't you tell us that you were coming home? No one told me anything before I went to sleep!" Layla wrapped her arms around her brother tightly and complained to Mike.

"We came home in a hurry." Mike set his glass down and checked the time. "It's almost two in the morning. Don't you two have school tomorrow?"

"I'm taking leave tomorrow! It's been so long since Hayden came home. I'm not going to school!" Layla decided without hesitation.

"Are you catching up on your studies?" Mike teased.

"I can whenever I want to!" Layla puffed her cheeks in frustration.

"Go to sleep, Layla. I'll send you off to school tomorrow." Hayden let go of Layla. "I won't leave until after this weekend."

"Oh... Fine! I want to introduce you to all my friends when you send me off to school tomorrow!" Layla was overjoyed when she thought of gloating about her brother in front of her classmates.

"It's late, Hayden. Let's go to bed together!" Layla took Hayden's hand and tried to pull him into her room.

He pulled away and said, "Layla, we aren't kids anymore. We can't sleep in the same room."

"What do you mean? Are you dating someone?" Layla still felt like a child and did not see any issue with sleeping in the same room with her brother.

"Layla, why don't you take a look at yourself in the mirror? You aren't a little girl anymore." Mike chuckled. "Take a look at your brother. I don't really think he will ever be in a relationship, but he's about as tall as your mom now. If people find out that he is still sleeping in the same room as his younger sister, they are going to laugh at him."

"Hmph! I hate growing up!" Layla brooded, before turning her heels and heading back upstairs.

"Layla!" Robert called out, but she ignored him.

Robert turned to glare at his older brother after being neglected by his sister.

"Robert, you can totally sleep with your brother if you want to! Hayden won't reject you," Mike teased.

"I don't want to go to bed with him! He made Layla mad! Hmph!" Robert snorted as he tightened his arms around Mrs. Cooper.

Suddenly, a white flash of light shone into the mansion through the windows.

Mike immediately hurried to the door and glanced outside the yard in surprise. "Your mom is back."

He had thought that she would remain in the hospital with Elliot until he woke up.

"Mommy!" Layla spotted her mother from the second floor and hurried down frantically.

Robert, too, exclaimed, "Mommy!"

Mike shook his head, feeling as though his ears were ringing from all the noises.

"I suppose Elliot is alright, then." Mike stepped toward Hayden and whispered, "I'm about to pass out so I'll get going now."
