Elliot slept soundly though he sweated. His temperature was normal, and as Avery was exhausted, she

lay down beside him and fell into a deep slumber.

Avery woke up at three o'clock in the afternoon, and she felt a pang of hunger. She got out of bed,

changed her clothes, and came out of the room, just to find the bodyguard and the driver sitting on the

sofa in the living room, watching TV. As for Laura, she was sitting in the kitchen, fiddling with her

phone.

The scene appeared calm... however, she was conflicted about how they seemed to be treating her

house as their own. 2

"Avery, are you hungry?" Laura placed down her phone and brought out the leftover food.

Avery walked to the living room and said to the driver, "Your boss should be waking up soon. Go back

and get a set of clean clothes." 3

The driver immediately stood. "Okay."

After the driver left, Avery turned off the TV and said to the bodyguard, "My mom has a migraine, and

she can't stand loud noises. If you're staying here, just keep quiet."

The bodyguard dared not object. After all, his boss was still in her bed, and he did not know when he
