Asgeir POV

I yawned a bit when I opened my eyes and moved my hand to my side, but frowned when I felt it empty. I sat up and looked around and narrowed my eyes when I saw him sitting at the edge of the cliff looking out.

I got up and walked towards him. I yawned and sat down behind him wrapping my arms around his waist while I leaned my chin against his shoulder.

"Why are you up so early?" I asked and placed a kiss on the side of his neck.

When he didn't answer me,but rather continued to look ahead, I turned his face to face me, and it was only then that I saw he had not slept last night, given the tiredness in his eyes. But that wasn't the only thing that was worrying me, because he looked like he had been crying, and the last time I had seen him cry was when shifted into his human form.

"Hey what's wrong?" I said and cupped the side of his face.

I tilted my head in confusion when he I felt him rest his hand on my stomach and I wondered why he was doing that.

"Last night when I put you down in bed , I heard something." He said and trailed off as a stray tear rolled down his cheek.

"What did you hear?" I asked in a worried tone.

"I heard a heartbeat." He said looking up at me.

"But you hear my heartbeat all the time. Why do you look so emotionally exhausted?" I asked seeing the different emotions cross his face.

Worry, excitement,then worry again, and finally the look he always had when he told me loved me.

"That's just the thing. I didn't hear yours. I heard a heartbeat here." He said and rubbed my stomach.

I narrowed my eyes and looked down, and only when I saw his hand on my stomach did I realize what he meant, and I looked back at him with wide eyes.

Was I pregnant??

I didn't think I would get pregnant because I mean he was dragon, and he told me they didn't have babies, but with that look in his eyes, it was clear that he was just as worried as I was.

"I'm so sorry that I did this to you." He said withdrawing his hand from my stomach but I quickly placed mine above his and looked him in the eyes.

"Can you still hear it? His heartbeat?" I asked when he looked down and nodded at me.

"That's our son's heartbeat you're hearing. I don't want you to ever say you're sorry again. We both wanted this and it's not something to be sorry for. It's something beautiful, someone who came from our love." I said and ran my thumb across the back of his hand.

"Our baby." I said and smiled at him while he looked at me with tears rolling down his face.

"Is there really a baby inside you?" He asked looking at me, making me laugh while I pressed my lips against his and nodded at him.

"He's our little baby" I said smiling at him.

"How do you know it's a he?" He asked and tilted his head.

"We can only have baby boys, it's something that was passed down from my forefather." I said and kissed his nose.

"I am curious about how you're able to hear his heartbeat so early. I'm most likely only one month pregnant." I said looking down at my flat stomach.

"Maybe he's growing fast?" He said and kissed my forehead.

"He is going to be half dragon so that wouldn't surprise me." I said and chuckled.

I could see some sort of relief wash over his face and I couldn't believe that he actually thought I wouldn't want our baby.

After all, this baby was a symbol of our love and of the strong bond that we had formed.

I had come to love him so deeply and dearly, that just the mere thought of being away from frightened and terrified me.

"You're going to be a father." I said smiling at him.

"Does that mean that you're going to be Dad?" He asked and kissed my nose.

"Yes" I said and laughed.

"Well that would explain why I threw up yesterday." I said and moved a bit when I saw him attempting to get up. He held out his hand and helped me up while he kissed my forehead.

"Or why you suddenly wanted to eat fruit." He said smiling at me.

"In my defense, I always eat fruit, in fact my favorite is pineapple." I said and turned around to walk away when a wave of nausea hit making me hold my hand over my mouth while I rushed towards the corner of the room and threw up, well I mostly dry heaved because I hadn't eaten anything yet.

I smiled when I sat up despite the horrible feeling of nausea that was still in my system and wiped away my mouth with the back of my hand. The reason for my smile was because I now knew why I was throwing up, and that made me the happiest person.

I leaned back when I felt him behind me, rubbing my back, while I sat there.

"Are you always going to throw up?" He asked making me turn my head towards him and smiled at him.

"Just in the beginning. But it's all worth it. Soon we're going to have our own little baby running about." I said and moved my face when he was about to kiss me.

"I really don't mind." He said, understanding why I did that and turned my head towards him. He pressed his lips against mine, and kissed me so passionately, it drove me insane.

Everything about him drove me insane, from his perfect body, right to his warm personality. He was everything I could ever want and so much more.

There was no other person I could ever imagine my baby calling Father besides him, and that thought alone, put a smile on my face whenever I thought about it.

I absolutely could not wait.
