I Kissed A CEO And He Liked It!
Chapter 10: Just The Two Of Us

A day before.

"Kyle, son, Miss Taylor had an encounter with her ex at her apartment building, but she easily brushed him off, telling him that she was going to be living with her... new boyfriend," reported Hank over the phone, the driver that aided Gabrielle move to The Second Diamond Hotel.

Hank, in his early forties, had found a home in the Wright's and had been working for them for ten years. He considered Kyle as his second son. He was fully aware that Kyle had not had a girlfriend since, and even he had become concerned about the fact that the great CEO of the Wright Diamond Corporation was not interested in women.

Thankfully, Gabrielle Taylor came along, and Hank was happy to support Kyle in his pursuit.

From his office, Kyle held his phone up with pride. He turned to his city view at the side of his space and expressed a smirk. He thought there was no way one Warren Foster can win against him! "Thank you, Hank, for bringing Miss Taylor safely to the hotel," responded Kyle.

The news sparked happiness in Kyle's chest that he decided to leave for home early that day.

For the first time since he lived by himself, Kyle Wright arrived at his penthouse at eight in the evening. Usually, he was home by nine, ten, or eleven at night.

He no longer bothered to give Gabrielle a call, wanting to see what she was up to. Rather, he wanted to see her while still busy with arranging her belongings. However, after calling out her name by the door, there was no answer. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"Miss Taylor?" Kyle called again after shutting the door close. He first took off his jacket and rested it in his arm and made himself known, "It's Kyle. Miss Taylor?" Kyle took about ten minutes, settling on the sofa, just waiting for Gabrielle to come out of her room, but after not seeing any signs of Gabrielle, he decided to check on her.

The door to Gabrielle's room was left open, and he allowed himself in while softly calling her name, "Miss Taylor, are you in here?"

The lights were off, but while it was dark, he could make out the figure of a sleeping woman.

Kyle took a deep breath and turned on the lights. After confirming that Gabrielle was sleeping like a baby, he shook his head and just watched her for seconds.

After studying her cute face, he moved closer, covered her with a blanket, and turned back the lights off. While he did not get to spend time with Gabrielle that night, he swore to make her atone for sleeping on her very first day at the job.

The next day, he woke up early as usual. He ordered breakfast for two at the hotel and fixed himself up a cup of coffee.

As he was sipping on his hot beverage, he noticed the frantic Gabrielle Taylor rushing to the kitchen with her hair tied into a messy ponytail.

He calmly glanced in her direction, putting down his cup, and greeted her, "Good morning." Pointing to their early morning meal, he suggested, "Let's have breakfast."

Seeing how Gabrielle's face paled in his presence, he said, "I'm sorry. I had to come to your room last night and make sure you were alright... You were sleeping like a rock so I let you be."

Kyle was not fond of expressing a smile to other women apart from his family, but he forced himself to do so and suggested, "I should not have forced the Friday move in for you. Did the transfer exhaust you too much that you slept until morning?"

Sure, her hair was a bit messy, but Kyle saw through her charms, her small lips and her long nose, the expression on her eyes, and the glow on her healthy skin. Even without make-up, Gabrielle looked beautiful.

He could not help but look her profoundly in the eye.

"Ummm... Mr. Wright. I am so sorry," said Gabrielle. "I was really tired the other day and had been for days, selling my stuff and packing." She looked down before resuming her words, "Still, I know it's not an excuse."

Before Kyle could answer, he immediately saw Gabrielle look up to him and pleaded, "But please don't fire me. I really need this job!" She pouted her lips and, with puppy eyes, she added, "I really am so sorry for sleeping in on you. I - I hope you had dinner."

Kyle urged Gabrielle to take the seat in front of him and said, "I understand, Miss Taylor. Please, let's have breakfast and get this awkwardness out of the way. Can I call you Gabrielle?"

Gabrielle's eyes promptly widened. She took the seat and nodded her head, "Yes, Gabrielle or... actually, you can call me Gaby, Mr. Wright."

"Gaby, it's a nice name," said Kyle. "And you can call me Kyle."

Kyle did not know what she was thinking, but he clearly saw the shimmer in her eyes, the second he suggested that she call him by his first name. He heard her ask, "Are - are you sure, Mr. Wright? I mean tha would be -"

"I prefer that you call me by my first name." Kyle took another sip of his coffee and said, "Besides, you will be staying with me for a year. There is no reason why we would not get to know each other... right?" He cut off her words with this explanation. "I simply want you to be comfortable around me."

"Oh." She answered.

Kyle further intensified his gaze at Gabrielle, seeing her face turned a tint darker, her nose especially became red.

"So... I'm not fired?" She probed before beaming at him.

"No, you are not, but in return. I need help with something," Kyle suggested.

"What is it, Mr. Wright?" She quickly asked but when Kyle narrowed his eyes at her, she took back her words and said, "I mean." This time, her cheeks slightly burned before she continued, "I mean, Kyle."

"We have a new restaurant that opened up by the harbor, and I need to check its standards. My sister happened to cancel our plans of dining there together and I definitely don't want want to have dinner alone... Is it okay, if I... bring you along?" Kyle asked, in the most professional and benevolent way.

"Just... you and me?" He heard her ask.

"Yes, just the two of us?" Kyle answered without a hint of malice.
