I Love You More, Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson)
I Love You More Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson) Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Edda amiled and replied, “I’m a psychologist.”

Nydia, unfamiliar with medicine, simply said, “That’s good.”

Not really. Compared to my brother, I’m far behind. I wish I were not a psychologist. This field is popular abroad but quite a niche in Creekheim.” Edda expressed a rare sense of dejection, indicating she might be feeling underappreciated.

Nydia thought for a moment and sincerely said, “With the current societal conflicts and pressures, the rise of psychology is inevitable. As long as you persevere, you’ll surely succeed one day.”

Edda seemed comforted. She grabbed Nydia’s arm and asked with a smile, “Nydia, do you feel stressed?”

The abrupt address caught Nydia off guard, but she decided to go along with it. “Of course, she replied.

“In terms of work or marriage?” Edda inquired.

Nydia paused for a moment, lips pressed together, fingers rubbing the cup. She then replied softly, “Both, I guess.”

Edda observed her actions and, with a look of empathy, remarked, “Being ‘Mrs. Jackson‘ must come with a lot of pressure, right? I understand.”

Nydia paused. Edda’s sincere concern made her reflect on her attitude. It seemed that she was overthinking.

“What’s wrong?” Edda asked, puzzled by Nydia’s reaction.

Nydia shook her head. “It’s nothing.

As they conversed, a nurse hurried over to inform Edda that the head physician was looking for her. Edda stood up, telling Nydia, “Nydia, I have to go attend to something. If you need anything, you can find me on the 17th floor.”

“Sure,” Nydia replied.

Josephine lay in bed, her face pale. Her mother, Pythia, tried to feed her some food, but Josephine frowned and glanced at the man on the sofa.

Cade, absorbed in handling documents, looked so attractive,

Pythia understood Josephine’s silent request for Cade to feed her. “Mr. Jackson, Pythia smiled and called out to Cade, who glanced coldly in her direction, silencing her with just one look. She quickly reassured him, “It’s okay. Seems like you’re very busy?

Cade, expressionless, lowered his head again, clearly displeased.

Josephine glared at Pythia, who could only mouth to her daughter, saying, “At least he’s here for you.”

Edda knocked on the door and entered the ward. Despite the tense atmosphere, she seemed oblivious. Spotting Cade, she exclaimed in surprise, “Mr. Jackson, what are you doing here?”

Cade glanced at her without a word,

“What a coincidence,” Edda continued. “I just met Mrs. Jackson.”

Cade’s hand paused slightly, his eyes narrowing.

Edda, noticing his reaction, turned to Josephine and asked, Josephine, are you feeling better?”

“What did you say?” Josephine’s face grew even paler, her hands tightly clenched together.

Edda realized her insensitivity and quickly apologized, I’m sorry, Josephine. I didn’t mean it. Please don’t take it to heart.”  sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Pythia, sensing Josephine’s distress, felt a mix of irritation and resentment. If not for Nydia, Josephine would have been the esteemed “Mrs. Jackson” by now. She held Josephine’s hand and reassured her, “Don’t be afraid. If she dares to hurt you again, I’ll teach her a lesson.”

“Cade.” Josephine, teary–eyed, trembled as she bit her lip. “I’m scared.”

Cade, setting aside the documents, walked over, and stood by her side, saying, “It’s okay. I’m here.”

Josephine nodded gently and embraced Cade, who furrowed his brow but didn’t push her away.

Pythia, delighted by the scene, exchanged a glance with Edda, who nodded with a smile and left with her.

Chapter 54

Cade stared at the door, his eyes darkening as he calculated when Nydia would arrive. He wondered what stunt she would pull this time to defend her position as “Mrs. Jackson.” Glancing around the room, he noted it was too small to fit 150 bouquets.

Josephine sensed Cade’s sudden change in mood and believed her affection had softened him, feeling ecstatic.

As time passed, the silence outside the door remained unbroken. Cade’s patience waned, his teeth clenched, and the room’s atmosphere grew thick with tension

Perplexed, Josephine asked Cade, “Cade, what’s wrong?”

Cade pushed her away, and as he left expressionlessly, Josephine held onto him unwilling to let go.

“Have a rest.” Cade stood up emotionlessly and walked out. Josephine stared blankly at his retreating figure, wanting to call out to him but hesitating. She just bit her lip and clenched her fists.

Lance’s condition improved, and he was moved to a regular ward. Nydia was feeding. him some liquid food when the door behind her swung open. Assuming it was a nurse, she continued feeding Lance, urging him gently to take another bite.

Cade’s face darkened as he watched her. She treated another man with kindness but was always hostile toward him.

Lance suddenly noticed the menacing figure at the door and almost choked. “Mr…. Mr. Jackson,” he managed to utter.

Nydia paused briefly, her eyes narrowing, but she quickly regained composure and continued feeding Lance without looking back.

Cade coldly asked Lance, “Can’t feed yourself, huh?”

Lance, intimidated by Cade’s sharp gaze, stopped eating. “I’ll do it myself, Mrs. Jackson.” Lance forced himself to sit up.

Cade finally averted his gaze from Lance, entered the room, kicked the door shut, and sarcastically questioned Nydía, “Is Sharp Group so short–staffed that you have to care

for him?”

Nydia’s face paled, her hand trembling as she held the bowl. “My parents are both gone, and Sharp Group is indeed short–staffed now,” she explained.

Cade realized he had ignored the impact of his words, which made him irritated. He coldly reminded Nydia, “Don’t forget you’re my wife.”

The constant reminder of her identity had worn on Nydia’s patience.
