Chapter 0039 

Laura 

I stood there without being able to move a single muscle while looking at Jason running on the electric treadmill, but he noticed the presence of someone else in the room and turned around to look at me. I noticed the surprise on his face just seeing me there, and he quickly reduced the speed of the treadmill until it stopped. He jumped off the treadmill and came towards me, still surprised and a little amazed. 

“Laura? Wow, I didn’t expect to see you here,” he said, coming towards me. It was impossible not to sweep my eyes over his physical appearance: his arms were muscular to the right extent, his biceps were well–toned, and his six–pack was defined in a way that was not so exaggerated but was still quite attractive. Jason had an overwhelming physical shape, even more so when his body glistened with sweat. “You just keep surprising me more and more,” he commented. “Damn, you look so stunning.” His eyes looked me up and down. I couldn’t judge him, after all, I had just done the same. 

“Thank you… Can you put on a shirt, please?” I asked, especially because it wasn’t like I was going to be able to concentrate with his manly beauty so clearly on display. I was feeling an agitation in my lower abdomen that I hadn’t felt in a long 

time. 

He nodded and smirked, realizing that I was attracted to him. “Sure, just a minute,” he said, going over to a sofa in the corner, where he grabbed a shirt and quickly put it on, but that didn’t lessen the sexual tension between the two of us. “So you finally decided to come here,” he said, opening his arms and referring to the entire mansion. There was a silly smile playing on his lips. Jason simply wasn’t able to contain his happiness, for him, it was like he was finally surrendering little by little. 

I fixed my hair and replied, “I was curious to see how this place was after so many years. I won’t deny that I was surprised to realize that the entire house was 

practically as I left it. Did you turn this mansion into a kind of sanctuary of mine?” I 

said, half–mocking him.. 

“I wanted everything to stay the way you left it, it gave me some comfort,” he

confessed, wiping his neck with a towel se he and I walked through the hallways. heading back to the main too. 

“You know this whole situation is sick, don’t you? With your fixation on me, you’d better go see a psychologist,” I commented with a sigh

I shook my head. “No I didn’t come to make a formal visit, I’m here because I need to resolve the issue of publicity that you have to release,” I said rudely. 

He laughed, a little embarrassed. “You came to kiss me? Holy shit… You should have called me to let me know you were coming, so I could take a shower and introduce myself properly to you.” 

Don’t take a shower. I like the smell of your sweat, it makes me horny. My intrusive thoughts almost flood me. I shook my head. “There’s no need to take a shower; it’s just a kiss, I’ll be brief,” I said and took a step forward, approaching him. 

In turn, Jason took a step back with his eyes slightly wide. “Will it be now…?” 

I frowned. “Can it not be now?” 

“Yes, it can, it’s just… Damn! After so long,” he said, laughing nervously. “Wow, I’m finally going to kiss you.” 

“Jason, it’s going to be a professional kiss. It’s not about getting ideas,” I reminded 

him 

“Professional kisses? What does it mean?” 

I shrugged, a little lost. “I don’t know…” What would a professional kiss be like?” Whatever, let’s just kiss soon!” 

“Right! Right!” He sighed and approached me, but now it was my turn to take a step 

back. 

“Wait!” 

“What happened? Why?” 

“I’m going to kiss you, but only on one condition,” I said. 

“What do you mean? Haven’t I already given you a condition? Aren’t you here because of your project and for the good of Nemesis?” He looked confused. 

“Yes, that’s why I’m here. But there’s more,” I insisted. 

He sighed. “What else?” 

“You have to promise me that you will leave me alone from today onwards.” 

“What?” 

“You will stay away from me forever, you will not try anything with me or blackmail me anymore. You will stay away from Nemesis decisions and let the company flow naturally. There will no longer be you and me, not for good or not for bad,” I said 

decisively. I had given this a lot of thought, which was necessary. 

“How absurd!” He exclaimed, utterly disappointed. “What if I refuse?” 

“Then there’s no kissing for you.” 

“But I’m the only one imposing conditions here!”
