Jason 

I was drumming my fingers anxiously on the steering wheel of the car that I had prepared for me so that it would be available for me to use as soon as I arrived in Staten Island. It had been a few minutes since I had parked the car on the road opposite the daycare center, Saint Laurent and I were waiting around the place, seeing the usual movement of children and some adults coming and going. 

I checked the time and it wasn’t long before the kids would be released to go home, so I was alert, waiting patiently to see Anne coming out of that door.

I was still shocked to have discovered my daughter’s existence in such an unpredictable way. I still didn’t know how to deal with that information, the only thing I wanted was to see her with my own eyes to know that she was really real. Not only that, but I would never guess that Laura had had my daughter, and she would never tell me. Furthermore, I was paying for my sins. 

I sighed seeing that Terence was calling me, so I answered reluctantly. “Hello, 

Terence.” 

“What’s up, buddy? Everything ok?” He asked, excited as always. 

“What do you want?” I didn’t have much patience to talk to Terence because one, I was mad at him because I was sure he knew Anne was my daughter this whole time and never told me anything, he kept in touch with Laura from the beginning and 

always refused me grant me any information about her claiming that Laura didn’t 

want me to know anything about her. I understood that he was a reliable and faithful 

friend to Laura, but he was also my friend and it wasn’t nice for him to hide the fact 

that I had a son out there..

since now you can’t see her anymore, right?” 

“Yes, I said. 

“So there’s an event tonight with some friends of mine, if you show up you might 

meet some beautiful women and maybe be interested in one of them,” he suggested. 

“I appreciate it, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to show up,” I told him, my eyes fixed on 

the daycare center’s entrance gate. Some guardians‘ cars were already starting to 

park on the sides of the road so they could pick up their children home. 

“What? What do you mean? You seemed excited when you asked me that,” he 

snapped. 

That was true. It was true that I wanted to find other ways to get Laura out of my 

head, I still loved her fervently and still wanted her, but my hands were tied, I
