Chapter 10

I stare at the two lines as if I am getting a glance into my future. Who knew such a discreet symbol could mean so much and change so much.

"So, how are you going to tell him?" Fiona catches my attention.

"I have no idea, maybe I'll wait." I shrug and continue to stare at the two lines. "I don't know if I'm ready yet."

"Well you should get an appointment set up, don't you want him to be there?"

"I guess, maybe. I can't even think right now but at least this explains why my bladder has been filling up every hour. Shouldn't I be getting morning sickness?"

"I'm not sure but I don't think it happens to everyone, but that's just another question you can ask at the appointment." She stands up and looks down at me. "You do everything at your speed but I hate to say it, you don't have forever."

"I know, I'm just having a hard time taking this all in, I mean there's a little thing growing inside me." I rest my hand just below my stomach. "It's kind of crazy."

"It's is." Fiona squeals. "I can't wait until it starts to kick so I can feel it, I've always wanted to feel a baby kick."

"I wonder what it feels like to have a baby kick inside you."

"It's probably uncomfortable and amazing at the same time." She gazes off before walking with me back to the pack house. Fiona told me that she would stay with me all day because I need a friend right now, and I'm thankful that's she's happy to be with me. The entire walk she went on about pregnancy glows and trying to convince me that I'll begin to have mine any day now. It would be nice to know how many weeks I am, I'm going to guess three since the first two times were accidentally unprotected. The second one being completely my fault.

We entered the house to find Henry waiting right by the front door which gives me a bit of a jump-scare.

"You were at Andrew and Fiona's?" He asks, obviously seeing Fiona standing right beside me.

"Oh ya, I forgot something from the other night."

"Really, what?" He looks at my empty hands and crosses his arms. "What happened, what did you guys do?"

I glance beside me at Fiona and she takes over, "Don't worry Henry, I'm sure you have other things to worry about, where's Sebastian?"

"He ran over to one of the border posts because there was a rouge trying to get in, and don't try to change the subject one me. We all saw you bolt out the door Evan." Henry crosses his arms while giving me a sassy stare. "I'll let it go for now but know that I always find out secrets around here." With that he turned around, huffed, then marched upstairs and into his room.

"Well that was weird." Fiona murmurs. "Let's do something fun... Oh, I want to go swimming, the weather is warm enough now."

"Thank god, the kitty pool isn't as fun." I agree and we go into the bedroom to grab swimsuits, Fiona obviously changing into the most revealing one I have. She throws one at my head and I glare at her before changing myself.

The water was warm and quite enjoyable. We bronzed up a bit and splashed around into the pool which led to Henry joining us. He jumped right in and we had a splash fight until I got tired out and crawled out of the pool, laying flat on the toasty pool deck. "Evan we just started, get back here and fight!"

I roll my eyes at Henry and laugh as he drags me back in by my feet. Suddenly Sebastian and Andrew come outside in swimsuits also and I'm somewhat surprised.

"Who told you guys about our pool party?" Fiona calls to them as Henry climbs out.

"Who cares, Sebastian throw me in!" I cheer and hurry over to him. "I want to go high!"

I stand in front of him and his hands grip my waist. "Ready?" I nod and glance over to Fiona who looks a little worried, almost telling me to be careful.

"Okay just maybe not too high, like a gentle toss."

Sebastian chuckles. "A gentle toss?"

"Yes, now hurry up I want to fly." So he lifts me up and throws me into the pool causing me to shriek. I splash in and Henry jumps in after me along with everyone else. Water splashes everywhere and I open my eyes underwater, seeing many blurry legs.

My hair floats around me and I move my head even more, letting it sway with the current.

My bottom lightly taps the pool floor and I feel weightless, like a feather in the wind. Air bubbles slip from my lips so I follow them with my gaze as they float to surface. My lungs begin to burn but before I can push myself up two large hands grab me, and I'm yanked from the water.

My hair sticks to my face and I try to move it all back.

"Were you ever going to come up?" Sebastian's voice catches my attention and I notice that he's holding onto me.

"I was fine."

"You looked dead to me." Henry comments.

Sebastian glares at him and I wiggle out of his grasp before climbing out. I grab a towel and wrap myself up like a present until I'm nice and warm.

The sun begins to set and I lay back on one of the lawn chairs to watch it. I hear Fiona yelling at Andrew but I ignore it and close my eyes. Sleep wants to overcome me but I can't help but peek when a shadow casts on my eyelids. It's Sebastian.

He sits beside me and lays back himself before looking my way. "You've been acting weird today, what's up?"

I gulp and glance down, not wanting his hypnotic eyes to make me word vomit again. "Well there is something we should talk about."

I would feel better if he knows that I'm possibly pregnant, I wouldn't be able to keep the secret for long anyways. Plus, I have to set up an appointment and I want him to be there with me. "What is it?"

"Well I don't want to talk about it here, maybe when everyone leaves it will be a good time."

He nods and leans back.

Not soon after, Fiona and Andrew leave and Henry begins to dry off. I head inside and straight into the shower, not wanting my hair to smell like chlorine anymore. The hot water feels nice as I try to figure out how I'm going to tell Sebastian about the news. It gives me time to think.

Of course, along with the thoughts comes worries. What if he doesn't want a kid? What if he thinks it's too early? What if he's angry?

Stop it Evan. He deserves to know as much as you would. My wolf says.

For once she's right. No matter what outcomes I conjure up he still needs to know.

Sighing, I turn off the water and step out. I dry off and mentally prepare myself for our conversation, and too say the least, I'm nervous.

After slipping on my pajamas I find Sebastian curled up in bed like a giant baby. I smile and crawl under the covers myself. "Can we talk now?"

"Of course." He mutters with his eyes closed, pulling me down into his embrace. I can't help but laugh.

"We can wait until tomorrow if you're too tired."

"No no, I'm wide awake." He sits up and I roll my eyes. "Go ahead I'm listening."

"Okay, well, I'm not sure how to say this," I begin, "Actually I'm a little scared about how you're going to react."

"Evangeline what did you do?" He looks deep into my eyes and I groan, he thinks I didn't something wrong?

"I didn't do anything... Well I kind of did something that led to this, I mean you were apart of it too-"

"Just say it."

I take a deep breath and gently grab his hand, holding it tightly. "Um, I'm pregnant."

He says nothing. It's like he's frozen. I squeeze his hand but I get no reaction in return. Beads of sweat form on my forehead and my nerves skyrocket. I continue to wait for him to say something or anything then he suddenly stands up. My hands slip from his and hit the comforter. My ears perk up, ready for anything he's about to say, but he says nothing.

Sebastian slowly walks away from he bed and towards the door. He pauses for a brief second, not looking back, before leaving the room. Leaving me alone in shock.

My heart slaps against the floor as I pray to see him come back in.

But he doesn't.
