IMPALA (Farside Saga: Book One)
Chapter Thirteen: Watchers (Them Part Two)

Somewhere in the distant unknown part of the universe, lies an area that is both existing and not existing. It is a place between dimensional realities called The Nexus Boundary.

Time and space has no true meaning there. It is because of this that a very old particular entity called Falron is able to manipulate the universe in accordance with its design, but there is something disturbing the very fabric of reality.

Under Falron are a group of ascentiant beings known as Watchers. The Watchers go out and report back anything wrong within the universe. They can not interfere in any way with any living being in any realities. That is the first rule Falron made after his own mistake of saving an entire species and was taken for the creator. 'There can be no other creator but the creator himself' was the creed he establish after placing the planet out of existence. Now, with this new threat, the Watchers have a new mission. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"Maylar!.... The one you call human is here. " Kadesh said as he gently guided a bright blue Frankie around the corner into Maylar's council chamber then disappeared.

"The prodigal son has returned....I believe that's how you humans say it. I take it you did what you had to do?" Maylar said as Frankie nervously walked towards Maylar and slowly sat across from him. He glanced about the room still fascinated by its spartan-like but elegant beauty. The room itself was no palace thrown room or such but Frankie always felt an atmosphere of royalty whenever he was in Maylar's chamber. Sure Maylar was only one member of a council of eight Elder Watchers but his demeanor seemed to be that of the creator himself. He knew better than to address that to him, or any Watcher for that matter. They're very strict on not being labeled as a God.

"ummm yes... " Frankie said nervously as he stared into Maylar's gold-irised eyes.

"And do you understand what you have done?" Maylar asked in a tone like that of a father teaching a son something new.

"I believe so, but what I don't understand is why you let me. I mean, when I left, you guys seemed pretty upset so I just knew something bad was going to happen to me. Now that im back it's like yall celebrating...like you said, the return of the prodigal son. What gives? " Frankie asked, now out of curiosity.

"Yes, we were upset because we thought you were going to expose our existence...and we didn't exactly let you at first, you just happened to slip away before we could catch you. What gives, if you haven't figured that out already, is that an old enemy has resurfaced and is bent on destroying this plane of existence. Eventually we will be exposed anyway so we figured we'd do it on our terms instead. That's where you come in. Your species is on the brink of an extraordinary evolutionary phase. You are the first of your kind to experience it. It is this evolution that will bring you to a new clarity of mind and body, but the rest of your kind must first get past its own mortal thinking." Maylar said as he stood up and walked towards what would be considered a window.

He briefly studied the myriad of colors that served as their sky swirling around. Frankie still found that strange, that a city like piece of land is the only thing that exist in this place. Even more so that this place has no real atmosphere and that he could breathe and not freeze to death.

"Falron was confident that you'd return and that when you do, we begin your training." Maylar said, remembering a past moment as he turned to face Frankie after a short while.

"Training?" Frankie asked more excited than nervous.

"Yes. What you have done is jumpstart your particular evolution, but what you possess is what we call Herion Energy. You only see it as light in it's physical form in what you call photons. It is actually a shared living entity. When the creator made light, he made it as a source for all to receive in order to thrive. The Watchers were assigned to carry that source throughout the universe therefore connecting all worlds together in this plane of existence. The brightest stars you see when you look up at the sky? Those are pieces of Herion guiding each species towards it. Many beings we've come across old or new, only reflected or immitated it's form, but your species is the only one we've encountered to actually harness that energy,..."

Frankie thought about the arc generators.

"...but you are the only one besides an Elder Watcher to tap into it and utilize it. Hence the reason for your training. I see you already covered teleportation and sheild projections." Maylar said, the last appraisingly.

In the back of Frankie's head the whole time, although he didn't know what to call it, he knew about the Herion Energy and that it had a greater potential other than what he was already capable of ever since the accident. He only hopes they don't find out that he already passed on some of that energy and therefore exposing the Watchers, sorta speak. The training would help him better understand and control it. As for Jason, he only prays he can pull this off....because the fate of the universe is in his hands.
