Ironwood

After the theft of a sacred artifact, Jacob has one chance to ascend beyond his pre-planned life, to avenge a murder, and just maybe - save Ironwood from the destruction caused the birth of Sorcery. When Ironwood’s peace is shattered by the murder of two men, and the theft of the Shield of St. Thomas, Jacob, unlikely second son of the Merchant-Baron of Ironwood, hastily assembles a team to return the relic. Driven by fear that the ignorant and superstitious will threaten Ironwood’s unique accommodation with the Clans, Jacob and his comrades track the Shield deep into Clan territory. Little do they know that the hunt will not only entangle them in the affairs of the mythical Spirit Realm, but also the rise of Sorcery in Annaria. Unless Jacob and his friends can retrieve the Shield, and win the help of Heaven, Ironwood will not survive the throes of its birth, and neither will they.
