“What do you mean don’t trust her?” I said after we were inside the bar not far from the SPADE headquarters.

“Here,” Marx suddenly threw a Glass at me on the table in between us.

I looked it up and saw a picture of Paula, a much younger Paula looking back at me from the Glass. I picked it up and looked at it. It looked like she had to be half her age that she was in this photo. There was no doubting it was her though, something about the way she looked in this photo told me that it was Paula.

Cassandra Joetche

The name next to Paula said. I looked at it and looked up at Marx.

“Keep reading,” Marx pointed at it.

Known Aliases: Paula Plum, Cassie Cyan, Sandra Slate

Cassandra Joetche was a former secretary involved with the dark project of Project Rho. I looked up when I read that.

“What?!” I said.

“Heck of the thing huh?” Marx said.

“What the hell is she doing as the director of the Time Trappers?” I asked.

“Keep reading,” Marx said pointing at the glass.

I picked it up again.

Her involvement in the Dark project of Project Rho is dubious. There is no indication she was involved in any of the testing. She was given a chance by SPADE to act as an informer as part of a deal. Cassandra agreed, therefore was acquitted of any wrong doings.

“The damn fact a damn project Rho thing shows up mysteriously all of the sudden in the past, and she is the damn director of the Time Trapper Division is highly suspicious.” Marx said.

“Damn Olga was right about her,” I said.

“Who?” Marx said.

“Olga Onyx, she is another Time Trapper,” I explained. “She thought there was someone working on the inside to mess around with the Chronotravler.”

“Smart girl,” Marx nodded. “Where is she at?”

“I…I don’t know,” I said.

“Why do you sound like your worried?” Marx asked.

“Because she came back to save my ass,” I said.

“What do you mean?” Marx said cocking his eyebrow.

I went to explain what Olga had told me, that I had been Time Napped for some reason, and that she had come back to get me out of the time loop I was in. And the second it happened she had disappeared.

“The fact that she was onto ‘Paula’ and disappears concerns me,” Marx said as he grabbed a cigar from an inner pocket on his coat and pulled it out. He motioned it up to me and I just nodded. He lit it and took a deep inhale. “So, what’s your deal with that girl?”

“With which one?” I asked.

“Both,” Marx said. “You do know that Beth is Willie’s sister, right?”

“What?!” I said.

I knew who Marx was talking about, William White, he was our mutual friend and member of the clique we had made that was called the Color Brothers.

“Beth is?!” I asked.

“Mother fucker how long have you been with the girl and you don’t know that?” Marx said, and I must have looked confused or something. “How the hell don’t you know?”

“I…I don’t know,” I said.

“Oh fuck, are you still being time napped?” Marx said.

“I have no clue, I am not even sure if I knew I was being time napped before or not.” I said. I took one of the drinks we had ordered and downed it.

“Where’s Olga?” Marx asked.

“I have no idea either,” I said.

“Well if Olga was onto Cassandra, there is nothing saying that the reverse was not true.” Marx said after some thinking.

“Would she really do that?” I asked. “I mean you were in Project Rho.”

“Mother fucker I was a super soldier, not a scientist.” Marx said.

The second that Marx said I suddenly remembered something that made me jump up. Marx looked at me like I was crazy. I realized my outburst had gotten some unwanted attention from the rest of the bar. I managed to calm myself down and I sat back down.

“That green haired dude!” I said whispering.

“What green haired dude?” Marx asked.

“Norman something…” I said trying to remember this guy’s name. “He had this really long weird ass name. Like Hendrikson? No that’s to normal.”

I didn’t like the guy he always seemed like a creeper. Not only that he always rubbed me the wrong way.

“You’re not talking about Norman Hunraken, are you?” Marx said.

“Yeah that’s it Hunraken,” I said.

“I don’t remember seeing Hunraken on your roster,” Marx said

“Huh?” I asked.

“There is no one named Norman Hunraken on the roster of SPADE.” Marx said he reached out and grabbed the Glass and tapped on it. Marx then showed it at me. I picked it up and looked it over.

“How do you have a roster?” I asked.

“Heck of a thing that military-grade clearance can get you.” Marx said as he took another puff of his cigarette. I looked over the names on the roster. I didn’t see the name Hunraken anywhere, nor did I see the name Norman.

“Is this current?” I asked.

“Copied it this morning,” Marx said.

“Why did you do that?” I asked.

“Well the second I looked back on Paula’s background I thought there could be more infiltrators.” Marx said. “This Norman you know, what does he look like.”

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe a few years older than us, super creepy looking. Green hair for some reason.” I said.

“Green Hair you say?” Marx said cocking his eyebrow.

“Yeah that’s why I remember him,” I said. “It’s not like he is using an alias I mean I remember him, and he calls himself Norman.” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“How do you know that?” Marx asked.

I stopped and thought about that. I had no idea how I knew his name was Norman. How was it that I knew his name was Norman? Was this still from being time napped. Then I remembered about Olga. I looked down to the roster again, her name was there.

Good, I thought. I was hoping that whoever the hell was time napping Olga hadn’t erased her from history.

“I actually don’t know,” I said.

“When did that girl go missing?” Marx asked.

“Olga?” I asked.

“No, the other fucking girl,” Marx said.

“This morning,” I said.

“But didn’t you…you fucking slept with her didn’t you?” Marx said slapping his forehead. “I swear to Krishna you literally cannot keep it in your pants.”

“Woah…say that again,” I said.

“You can’t keep it in your pants,” Marx said.

I froze that somehow was jolting a memory in my head. Quite suddenly everything came rushing back. Everything, including the number of times I had jumped. The number of times I had told Olga I had jumped. I even remembered who had said to keep it in my pants. That monkey-man the self-proclaimed Time Fairy.

“That’s why he said that?!” I said hitting my head.

“Who said what?” Marx said confused. I got up and headed out of the bar.

“Vinny hold your ass up,” Marx said getting up and headed after me.
