Chapter 52: Shawn walks out the back door

I walked out the back door as they finished talking. I walked toward the woods to the creek and sat down. I was enjoying the quiet of the woods when I heard.

"Can I talk to you?"

I looked up and saw Shadow standing there.

"I want you to know that Gunner was not kissing her."

" He was pushing her off and besides, he was trying to find out what she was up to. He meant what he said. He would never take her or any woman as a mistress. I know my brother."

"He loves you, Shawn."

" I watched him when Malice and Rage got phone calls from Jean and Donna and he didn't get one from you."

" He was hurting. He wanted to hear your voice so bad. He would watch every time you all were on tv."

"If any one tried to change the channel he would throw a bottle at them."

" Please don't leave him it would break him. He loves you so much."

" I will think about it."

" That is all I ask I said before turning and walking back to the club."

I was so relaxed that I fell asleep listening to the water. I didn't even feel myself being lifted and carried back to the club.

Shadow told me where she was and I walked to the creek. I found her sleeping so I carried her back to the club and put her in her bed. Before covering her up I kissed her forehead and said:

"I love you, Shawn"

I turned and walked out shutting her door.

I was sitting outside on the porch smoking a cigarette when Rage, Malice, and Shadow walked out. They sat down lighting up their own cigarette.

Shadow said. "I am so sorry that I came back here with Karan Gunner."

I looked at my brother and signed.

"Shadow you are not responsible for what Karan did or does. We all knew she wanted power. She just couldn't get Rage to fall for her tricks. As for you, you never let it be known you did not want to take on a lot of responsibility but she didn't know that. That's why she played us so well."

"I didn't have to go along with the plan to find out what she was up to. I just wish we could have included Shawn in it. None of us were thinking about how Shawn would take it."

" I just refuse to let her go. We should have remembered everything she has already been through. I love her and she will have to learn to trust me."

"I think I will go to the house. I can't stay here knowing she is laying in bed three doors away from me. I am finding it difficult to keep from walking to her room and demanding that she talk to me."

" I need to get my thoughts together so I'm not coming back here unless you need me for something. You do not know how bad I want to lay next to her and hold her I said as I walked over to my bike." I looked up to the window of her room before starting my bike and riding out of the compound toward my house.
