Legends of Kepler: The Dragon & The Woman
CHAPTER IV: FLORAL FIELDS (3)

“He left, daughter” Clara told her crying. “He is gone.”

In the room, there were some important people. Her mother and grandmother, were kneeling at each end of the bed. Each one grabbed one of the hands of the man who lay dead in his own home; a devastating situation. Adelia’s mind was blocked. She broke down in tears, turned around and ran from the place. Her being was flooded with denial, agony, helplessness, frustration. She felt disappointed with life. She didn’t understand why it had given her hope in vain. She didn’t understand why she had entered into her positive feelings, at early times of the day, if thas was going to be the outcome. She thought that, if this was going to happen, giving her false illusions was an insensitive act. She felt attacked, vulnerable. She felt threatened, she felt cheated. Disillusioned, all she could think of was running away; she wanted to run away from this unfair reality. She wanted to get away from this inexplicable resentment she felt in her heart. She went too far, out of the village, crossing paths with some villagers, who shouted at her to stop, but she couldn’t hear them.

In a moment, she reaches the entrance of Anaís’ Forest. Every step she took further, she felt his presence closer into the depths of the unknown forest. Distancing more and more from the region. Without stopping, she got lost in it, and entered the territories beyond the safe, beyond the known. Without looking back, she crossed dark paths, passing through all the bushes. With tears falling from her face, she couldn´t stop her furious race, until she tripped over a huge tree root. She fell and rolled on the ground, circling a small ravine, until she fell on the ground. In pain, she placed her hands on her face, and continued to cry; she was disconsolate, wrapped in the forgetfulness of the forest, in the cold and disconcerting night.

The dragons, at that time, continued to observe the beautiful conglomerations of stars in the squares of the Hanging Garden. Bongo and Rosaleth, contemplated some radiations that arose from the heavens. They were impressive rays, which colored the night sky in luminescent ranges. They were true incarnations of the gods.

“It’s the birth of a star!” said a dragon.

“No!” exclaimed another. “It is the manifestation of the Light! A Borealis!” said another pointing to the glowing northern lights.

“It is a wonder!” Bongo said. “It looked like there was a–”

“Ugh! What is this?!” exclaimed Rosaleth, containing the pain. “I can´t handle this!”

“But what is happening with you, Rosaleth?!” he replied “You’re passing out!”

“Help me, my love!” she said in agony. “I can’t stand this pain!”

“What pain ar–”

“My belly, Bongo! It’s my belly, help me!”

Rosaleth started screaming intensely. The present dragons there began to notice what was happening. Bongo asked for help, and many females approached to help her. The pain was increased. Rosaleth could not contain it. The grief went from being a small nuisance to an unpleasant torture.

In the surroundings, the confusion spread. The night was very beautiful, but the beloved of the Fire Heir rejoiced in torture, and his suffering was so remarkable that the other dragons felt it. It was impossible to ignore the birth of this martyring pain, and the female cried and screamed, touching her belly. No one knew what was happening.

In an equidistant way, Adelia finally stopped crying, for there were no more tears left to show. In an instant, she looked up. Sitting down, she directed her gaze towards the clear sky. Her eyes glimpsed at the presence of a beautiful light, of aqua and green projections. She noticed an incredible number of stars, which she had never seen before. The greenish light shed a delicate effulgence on the forest. This lighting made her realize that, she was in a place with high levels of magic and divinity.

She looked around. The trees rippled, dancing tenderly for her. She directed her gaze forward, and noticed a tiny creature that moved in her eyes from side to side. From its small body, it emanated a luminescent energy. Adelia had never seen this creature before. She didn’t know, but fireflies were mystical creatures. They only became visible on special occasions.

Adelia got up. She wanted to get close to the thin and shining creature, but the creature began to move away. She started following it in the bushes. In a moment, another one appeared. These flew in front of his face, trying to get her attention; trying to make her follow them, and she deepened into the mysterious area where she was.

In the heights, Rosaleth was in a critical state. She began to bleed from her nose, making evident the existence of an internal pressure. Word spread quickly, and people talked about her suffering in a lacerating episode that was taking place over the Square of Sacred Pity, with no one knowing exactly why.

Dracko arrived at the place, along with some warrior dragons. He approached his mother, and baffled talked to his father.

“What can we do?!” the Prince asked.

“She’s dying,” said one of the females apathetically.

“She is not dying!” Bongo exclaimed “Bring her more water!”

“Something inside of her is not working, sir!” exclaimed one of the dragons.

The Supreme Dragon, not knowing what to do, began shouting for Wezhreem in the face of the confusion and despair of the crowd. He implored his help, and his hysterical voice echoed through the temples and squares of the Garden.

“Golden King, we need you! Please, appear! When in doubt and restlessness, I only remember your name!”

In the forest, the fireflies multiplied at the eyes of the young woman. She understood that they were leading her somewhere. She was in an area full of the best mysticism of the region. The carnations shone, and some fireflies were located on them. Others flew through the air between the plants, illuminating every step Adelia took. Now she was following hundreds of them, which emanated different lights from the previous ones. Along the way, the trees were still waving delicately, but Adelia realized that the trees were actually changing their forms. They had different shapes, and she could tell from the first ones she was seeing.

One of these primary trees had a symbol forged in vivid fire on its trunk. It seemed to have been made recently with a sword, but she realized as she went along, that these symbols were formed by the trees themselves. It was a very old sign. It was described in a legendary script called Dragomař, the sacred language of Kepler. This was the language used by divine creatures, and had been taught in the first terrestrial until these changed to their modern writing, the Rimerian writing. And since these had similarities, Adelia could decipher was what the writing on it. This symbol was a number, the number seven; this scared the woman immediately, for the day on which these events were happening, was precisely the seventh day of the first autumn cycle; the Casmal Cycle.

The fireflies led her to a beautiful spring, and hidden from the naked eye. It was covered with pink orchids and orange trees. The small lagoons were lit at the bottom of them by magic algae and aquatic fungi. Adelia never saw again so many fireflies together. This was their home. Most of them, were blue and green, and all these flew happily from one side to another, trying to get the woman’s attention. Thousands of them began to show themselves; the woman was stunned. She had never been in such a magical place, and she didn’t think she would be there again. She didn’t even know how she got there.
