Legends of Kepler: The Dragon & The Woman
CHAPTER VII: INHERENCE (3)

The next day, in the morning, Argôn decided to approach Wiz.

“How are you, my son?” Wiz exclaimed. “What do you offer to go through these morning hours here?”

“Your majesty, I come with an open heart and with the intentions that some doubts can be clarified.” Said the young dragon.

“Excellent, son!” he answered back. “These questions you want to clarify are about the past or the future?”

“Towards a fearful future, sir.”

“Well, let’s see” responded Wiz. “We can see some visions of your destiny, although it is not recommended that we see more than necessary. I will prepare the crystals.”

“That’s the thing, sir. The reading is not for me. It’s for Elgoneth’s daughter.”

“I see” exclaimed Wiz. “Why do you think it is our concern to know about the future of the girl?”

“Well, you see, I’ve been training her” responded the dragon. “She has improved a lot, and can be definitely be the potential leader of the movement Elgoneth wants to build in the land race. But right now, she found herself weak in mind and spirit.”

“For what reasons?” Wiz asked.

“She has been having some visions of massacres and destruction, lately” Argôn exclaimed. “Of the places that surround her southern town, the Town of Anaís. I´ve already told her to relax a little; that this should be just a distraction for her, a heavy episode, something temporary. But I would definitely like to reaffirm this with you, perhaps observing some future visions. I want to show her that this is not going to happen, and that as dragons we would not allow such act to happen. In the end, we are here to protect them, isn’t that right?”

“It’s like that, partially, son” replied Wiz. “Remember that with Elgoneth´s will, we cannot interfere. But it’s okay, you convinced me. I also find it strange that this town is annihilated without a firm reason.”

Wėzhreem prepared the potion; it consisted in a sequence of a persons´ near events. He needed three strands of Amalia’s hair, from which he managed to extract two that remained attached to the rough skin of the young dragon.

“Everything is ready, son” Wiz repeated. “This is actually a very simple spell. But for this, your mind must be open to the possible paths life will show us. It won´t be pleasant, even if it shows us what you want”

“I fully understand the divine´s will, sir” he repeated, while knocking over a vase. He was nervous.

“Don’t worry, it has been there for a while” replied the Golden King. “Sometimes we must get rid of things that no longer serve us.”

The great magician then began to conglomerate a set of fine herbs. Dictating ancient words of the Dragomař, and in syllables of which only some could be understood by Argônæth. A series of vapors sprouted and emanated from the boiler, which frightened the young dragon. The mixture went hand in hand with some spells of the Golden King, and proclaimed his last words aloud.

“Oh powerful will of existence, let us know the visions of this reality!” he exclaimed.

“Give these visions to us, so we can use them properly for the protection and care of this being! For the protection and care of this star! As eternal protectors of the Terrestrial Race, we ask you, reveal us her divine plan!”

The whole room began to shake. The fluids began to boil violently, but in the center, a big bubble had formed, in which an image was beginning to appear; a series of imagery followed in very fast sequences, one by one. Displaying thousands of future scenes, where the woman explore herself, and her people in countless adventures throughout all the regions of the world.

But when this bubble exploded and was integrated into the magic liquid, these images spread throughout the surface of the liquid, allowing the dragons to observe the nearer upcoming events. The destruction of Anaís was inevitable. Barbarians expelled from Merđhen, lost for many days in the forests of Eldriner and Anaís, reached the latter’s end. In the images, the barbarian found the small town, and attacked it; eradicating all of its people. The sorceress tried to defend herself, but lost at the end. She fights until the barbarians made the young woman unconscious, and when she woke up later from her trance, she discovered the worst: the end of her town and her people.

“What does this mean?” the dragon asked.

“It is the will of Elgoneth, Argôn. A teaching for the sorceress.”

“Teaching of what? Of violence? Of destruction? Of despair?”

“Argôn, listen–”

“How is this beneficial for her? How is this positive for them?!” he repeated.

“It is the benefit of the uncertain, where more opportunities are born and the true paths of glory are opened.”

“Did you see those images, sir?” asked Argôn. “What opportunities can arise from this tragedy?”

The future visions started to appear again, involuntarily.

“Look! Look how this people suffer!” he continued. “What this makes you feel as a Raēn? What this makes you feel as a dragon? Didn´t we swore to protect these beings with our blood?”

“Just as we swore not to intrude between them” said Wiz as he vanished the unwanted visions. “These are not our children, Argôn; much less our friends. They are the sons and daughters of Elgoneth, and it is on him to decide what to do with them.”

“This town is honored, sir!” shouted Argôn. “This town is faithful to life; it is servant to nature. It is the humblest town we have found in all these areas. They are the humanity hard to find, how can they be exterminated in such a way? How can that be Elgoneth´s will? No, no, this is an evil, my lord. An evil that we should correct.”

“Argônæth, I already told you” replied Wiz. “These are the paths set since before our ancestors. They are paths aligned to our feelings; to our actions, to our thoughts. It is the common good for the divine plan of life. This is why, we are not allowed to see future events. You are not prepared for this battle; you have much to learn. Your father was right.”

“What does anything of what my father said matters here?!” he exclaimed. “How do our ancestors matter here, sir? This is our present, and we are responsible for it! We can do something; we can do good.”

“Son of Bongo, I tell you” said the Golden King, “this subversive desecration of our ancestors is not allowed at the top of my kingdom, much less towards the divine choices of Elgoneth. Your time here is over! Retire!”

“Is this being the deity to whom we give our lives too? Is this the being to which we swear allegiance? A deity without mercy? Without compassion? Treating his creations as he pleases?”

“You don’t know what you say, young dragon” replied Wiz. “That girl´s town will not be saved from you, and you must accept it, for she is destined to fulfill her father’s purposes. And I, as your superior father and your current king, warn you to stay away from that human. Bigger problems will come if you interfere with this. Until now, I have not prevented anything to both of you because I thought this made you stronger, but apparently, I was wrong. While it makes you stronger physically, it makes you weak in your mind; fragile in the heart. Excessive in your decisions.”

“She will be saved, and her people will be saved too” responded the young fire dragon. “I will not allow this calamity.”

“This is not what Elgoneth asks from you. She does not correspond to you!”

They were screaming. The tension increased in the place. And when Argôn opened the door to leave, he heard these final words from Wiz, and the young dragon was enraged. An attack position came to his body, as if he were in battle. His energy began to multiply to higher levels, more than he could contain. The fire began to sprout from him and irascible, he turned with red eyes and burning hands; shouting at his King.

“She corresponds to me because I can do something! Or do I invite you to try to stop me?” exclaimed Argôn.

Without realizing it, Wiz found himself in a position of defense; in an instant. His body trembled; after many years, he felt in danger. He felt a power and an energy out of his reach; out of his control. He understood what Bongo had warned him all these years, Argôn ’s energy was unmeasured, uncontrollable, which caused the Golden King to feel a rush of adrenaline. His vision became greenish and his senses told him that he was in a dangerous threat. A dragon from his own kingdom was challenging him before his eyes could process it. He felt the day, had come.

After a brief silence that seemed eternal, Wiz decided to talk.

“Get your presence out of my home. I´m not going to tell you twice.”

Argôn then, withdrew from the abode by crashing the door and breaking it into pieces. Not a single word was mentioned afterwards.

After a while, Bongo went to visit Mount Geneza, just to found a tremendously scared Wiz.

“Sir, I hope it’s not a bad moment,” said Bongo. “My son don´t show up anywhere. We don’t know where he is. Have you heard anything from him?” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“He was here a while ago” responded Wiz. “We had an argument.”

“Sir, excuse–excuse me, really,” said Bongo, ashamed. “I no longer knew what to do with this boy, since the last Nénufar war, he seems to be someone else.”

“That being is not your son” said the Golden King.

“Sir?” Bongo asked confusedly.

“This energy that was revealed to me does not come from him. This power he has is exorbitant, and influenced by a higher energy. You were right.”

“But sir, how could you notice this?” asked the supreme dragon.

“Because the energy in which he transformed naturally, for a few moments, was extremely familiar to me.”

The Golden King rose from his chair, tall and hunched over, looked Bongo directly in the eyes, and continued his statement.

“I was not in the presence of your son; it was the presence of your grandfather. The presence of Legendary Colonel Kramian. The living incarnation, of him.”
