“You know where we came from. You know how far we ́ve come. Change and progress, are undeniable. The clearing of the sunset shines on our fields once again. Although, the mystery is still relevant, and my duty lies still. Waiting for the liberation of this puzzle, for only when the revelation becomes, life then will return me the pleasure of meeting once again with wholeness, in a harmonious encounter. I solemnly ask you father, do not abandon me. I ́m not only an eternal creation, I ́m also a human being. I am not perfect, nor do I pretend to be. I only want your support. Don ́t give me something that will sink me further. Whatever you are giving me, send with it the hopes that we will need to get up. I ́ll always decide to believe in you. I will always trust you. And I ́ll be delighted to follow your will, for all eternity. I ́m only asking you on my knees, right now: don ́t let me down. I know you won ́t. Send us your light, Elgoneth! Send me your light!

The woman got up, in tears. Starting from the place, she thought she would feel better, and in a way she did, but this actually made her more tense. She reached her bedroom, and as much as she tried to sleep, she couldn’t. She closed her eyes, and opened them again, waiting for something. She got distracted; it was already late at night. The king slept quietly and stealthily. Amalia then lit a candle. She sat on her bed, and decided to read the Book of Leyra, which came to her alone when she raised her left hand.

“A little reading would distract me” she thought. “It will help me sleep.”

The woman began to turn the pages, reviewing the book that had accompanied her for ten years. The text was bright, and some flashes of light of different colors emanated from it. She already knew most of the spells, so she got bored and moved onto the first part of the book where the general properties of Kepler’s Supernatural World were listed. In it, there was a section called Statutes of Elgoneth, where the general rules of nature were broken down.

Amalia began to read them; she had not read them in a while. She studied and glanced through them until she reached the General Laws of Protective Creatures. She started reading some.

Suddenly, she arrived at the Laws of the Dragons / Raēn. She began to read, and for some reason, her gaze was focused on a particular set of antiphons.

“7.1. A Raēn will swear by his divine blood, from the moment in which he is begotten, to protect, care, safeguard and defend the terrestrials from any external or pressing evil for their lives.”

“7.2 If a Raēn, takes the life of a terrestrial being, under any context, his energy will be immediately disintegrated by the Light.”

The sorceress was static in the second law, stunned as something made her keep her look on it. Suddenly, the law started to vanish slowly, letter by letter, before her eyes. In the full cold tranquility of the night.

Amalia began to scream. She got up and went to her King, and showed him the book.

“Argônæth!” said the woman crying. “It left! It is gone! The letters faded in front of my eyes!”

“For the love of Egmeon, woman! What’s happening?! What is gone?!”

“The Law, Argôn! The law!” shouted the woman. “What does this mean?!”

Argôn observed the texts of the book, and found the blank space where the Divine Law was. His face turned pale instantly.

“Get up immediately! Find the kids, tell your mother” said the king. “Notify everyone you can! Give the order to open the underground shelters. May the elders be group in the northern refuge. I want you and the kids in the shelter I built for us, now! Under the tower! As fast as you can! May all be ready!”

“Ready for what, Argôn?!” said the terrified woman as her tears began to fall. “What will happen to us?”

“We will be attacked, Amalia” the man responded. “An invasion of dragons! I´m not sure, but this is the confirmation of a war. We are all under attack! They will come for me! They will come for us!”

“Argôn, we are not going to survive this!” says the woman.

“Yes, we will do so! You and I, and our people. We will defend ourselves; I will not stay with my arms crossed. I will not allow innocent blood to be shed in my kingdom. We still have time! We must hurry!”

The King went down as fast as he could to the main militia fortress with The Queen. There he woke up all the knights of the Sons of Salvation. Preparing them for the war. They were about to be attacked.

Archers, crossbowmen, spearmen, nobles, horsemen, and warriors prepared for battle. The King ordered to place eighty-five fire catapults. Sixty at the top of the Great Wall, and twenty-five more catapults outside the fortress, in the outsides of the mills´ area. He gathered one hundred and fifty men to stand on top of the wall. Together, they operate the catapults. And the millers were ordered to leave their homes; ordered to occupy the remaining fire catapults and send their families to enter the shelters. The inside of the kingdom. The fearsome invasion was about to begin. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

The queen left an armament of arrows filled with a greenish poison to knock out the beasts. She ordered the archers to stand on the five main towers of the kingdom, where the view was perfect for attacking the neck of the spawn, over the heights. She withdrew then, for she had to spread the message of defense and caution. She alarmed everyone, and the word spread effectively. The subsoil shelters began to open to the locals.

The woman ran quickly to her mother’s house, and reached her. She warned her that she should not stay in her bed, for she would be easy prey for the beasts. She opened the nearest drawer in her bed, and hid the Book of Leyra in it, knowing that her mother was going to need it more than her. Once this was completed, Amalia went to her castle, climbed all the stairs, stumbling over some of them until she reached the end of it. It was the great bell tower, which only she had access to, and the sound of the bell announced the kingdom was officially facing a threat.

Over the heights of the bell, she saw in the distance an army of dragons approaching her kingdom. She descended the tower as fast as she could. She took her three children, and went into a series of secret and hidden passages that led to an underground shelter; the safest in the entire kingdom. Built especially for the royal family. And there, she stayed with them. Without listening much, knowing little. She was full of fear, but she couldn’t do anything. She had to give security to her kids. She had to show them strength. And there they hid, waiting for a miracle, and only a miracle, for she had no idea what was going to happen with their lives, or with their kingdom. The hidden mother cried all the time, because deep down, she knew exactly what was about to occur.
