I hope I’m doing the right thing, trusting Detective Alderman. I know I broke my cardinal rule—don’t give up the secret—but I really don’t see what else I could have done. I didn’t even tell John and he was one of my dearest friends in all my life. Regan and whoever else I pissed off will just have to get over it. Zachary’s still out there somewhere and he’s probably working on another plan to get to Xamn. Secondly, I had the dagger in my bag. That would not have looked too good if they searched me at the police station and that is exactly where I was going had I not told her. Besides that, I believe I can trust her and now I don’t have to worry about anyone getting ahold of the dagger or me losing it or leaving it somewhere. Now, I just have to wait for Detective Alderman to give me a copy of the symbols and then figure out what they mean.
