Cory was thankful that tennis had strengthened his arms, so he was able to pick her up without any problem.

Carefully carrying her inside, he made his way upstairs, passing the bathroom which was still occupied, and put Lily into his bed.

He returned to the hall and went to the bathroom door and listened. Not trying to be nosy or intrusive, he just wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to intrude or anything. Hearing only the occasional swish of water, he tried the door which was unlocked.

He knocked quietly and opened the door before an answer. “Hey, sis?” he said stepping in and closing the door behind him.

“What’s up, bro?” she said from the tub behind the wall.

“Lily fell asleep, and I didn’t want to wake her, so she’s here.”

“Oh. Trying for morning sex now?”

Cory groaned and replied, “No.”

“Cory, my big brother, you have to relax. I can’t believe you left her hanging today. So, what happened?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” he said embarrassed.

“Really? Even to me?”

“It’s too embarrassing.”

“She’s offering herself to you, stupid. She’ll wait for you, but it’s really not going to make either of you happy. I know we made a promise, but we were younger and naïve. IT’s not a realistic promise now. I had given thought to giving it up to Dallas. I’m glad now I waited, but it was probably more sheer luck than anything. You’re not going to break my heart if you… do it with Lily. The truth is probably you’re breaking her heart by not. But it’s your decision.”

“I know,” he said, sighing. “And thanks for not giving me grief over the… well, you know.”

“You owe me. It’s a little sister’s sworn duty to tease and torment their big brothers and porn, that would have been a doozy. But to be honest, I occasionally borrow them. It’s hard to explain,” she said embarrassed.

“Don’t bother, Lily already did it and I understand. It’s actually the same for me. I look at them and think of Lily. The stupid thing is, I could actually be looking at Lily… But it scares the crap out of me.”

Kayla giggled and said, “You’re stupid. Go wake her up and get you some.”

“No, she needs sleep more. Let her get a good night’s sleep.”

“Hopefully, she will,” Kayla said, serious.

“Thanks sis, for everything.”

“You’re welcome. Gimme a minute and you can have your turn.”

“Want me to lock the door on my way out?” Cory said jokingly.

“No, you’re too late for that. Guess I forgot to lock the door in the first place. Unless you plan on talking about sex some more. Then I might need a second go around. Yeah?”

“No, I’m leaving, geez. You might beat me yet horndog.”

“Out,” she said standing up.

At the splashing water sounds, Cory left the bathroom to give his sister some privacy and went back to his room to get a change of clothes. Coming back out of his room he met Kayla in the hall.

She had dresses in shorts and a t-shirt and stopped n front of him. “My knight,” she said thinking about what Lily had said to her.

Cory was lost, as usual, as she gave him a hug, careful of his ribs, and kissed his cheek. She stepped back and he looked at her questioningly. Shaking her head, she said, “Just know we love you. He took a shower, dressed, and slipped into his bed, trying not to wake Lily, and falling asleep quickly.
