Strolling into the bathroom. Melody was slightly surprised. There were only toiletries for men the previous day when she came in. Now, there were two sets of toiletries. 

They looked like a matching set for couples. 

Melody was embarrassed as she thought, “Is there something wrong with everyone’s eyes in this mansion? Why would they conclude I have a relationship with the man?” 

Little did she know that she was the first woman to appear in the mansion except for the maids. 

The housekeepers had already reckoned Melody nearly as the lady of the mansion. The butler especially reminded the housekeepers that Melody’s situation was different, so they had to serve her with utmost care. 

Therefore, all the housekeepers regarded Melody as someone important even though she had only been in Cloud Mansion. for less than a day. 

After washing up thoroughly, Melody felt slightly troubled when looking at the pajamas she wore through the mirror. She could not go out in that outfit. 

The housekeeper brought her the pajamas the previous night while Melody was washing up. She did not know where her clothes had gone after removing them. 

Pulling the bathroom door open and walking out, Melody noticed the walk–in closet was silent. She mumbled inwardly. 

They are quite fast. 

Then, Melody headed to the closet and soon saw it was full of clothes and accessories. 

She did not expect the walk–in closet to be massive and filled with clothes. Before that, Melody had seen Margaret’s wardrobe in the Tutfin residence, but it was not even as big as one–tenth of the closet at the mansion. 

It appeared to Melody that Maverick was extremely wealthy. His clothes were the latest edition of the current season. Melody knew they were undoubtedly not cheap with a glance at the fabrics. 

Walking inside, Melody saw that men’s attire was placed on the left while women’s clothes were situated at the right of the 

closet. 

Glancing at the men’s attire, Melody felt a little depressed by the clothes as they only consisted of shades of black, white, and 

gray. 

Melody found a piece of seemingly ordinary clothing in the women’s apparel section. She did not go to the bathroom as she thought she was alone in the room and directly changed her clothes in the closet. 

However, Maverick did not expect to see the view of the woman changing her clothes in the walk–in closet as soon as he stepped in. 

Melody had already removed her top, revealing her clean and pretty back. She was about to take off her pants as her back. was facing Maverick. Watching her hands already placed on her pants, Maverick walked over and hugged Melody from 

behind. 

Then, he leaned forward to her car and whispered, “You are seducing me early in the morning, aren’t you?” 

Suddenly surrounded by the masculine scent, Melody was dumbfounded. 

Soon, she realized she had nothing except lingerie on her body. She immediately lifted her hands and covered herself. 

“Let me go!” Melody said as she struggled to escape from his grip. However, she was no match for Maverick, who had experience in special forces. After contending for a while, Melody remained in his embrace firmly. 

“Hey, don’t move. Don’t you know you can’t tease a man in the morning? If you start the fire, you will be responsible for putting it out, okay?” said Maverick as he lightly patted her behind. 

Melody could not care less about his words as she only wanted to escape his restraint. Thus, she continued to wriggle. 

Not long after, Melody stopped and dared not to move. She could feel his body part reacting because they were so close. 

She was not a teenage girl, and she knew what it was. At that instant, Melody dared not move a bit. 

Looking at the woman who froze in his arms, Maverick chuckled and realized only Melody could effortlessly stir up the desire within him. 

“Why did you stop struggling? Huh?” mumbled Maverick as his seductive thin lips inched closer to Melody’s ear. She could feel his warm breath beside her ear, and her tiny car quickly reddened. 

“L–Let go off me! You jerk! Pervert!” yelled Melody. 

“It’s not like we haven’t done it before. You looked quite comfortable that night,” replied Maverick. 

Hearing the man mentioning that night, Melody suddenly broke down, and her eyes were brimming with tears.

Chapter 13 

The emotions she endured for so long burst at that moment. Ignoring the situation she was in, Melody hegan to cry. 

As she sobbed, she stuttered. “All of you are bad guys! W–Why would you d–do this to me? I’m still young, and I still have a bright future. Now it is ruined!” 

When Maverick saw her suddenly bawling her eyes out, he felt utterly helpless. Even though he was used to handling severe occasions, he did not know what he should do at that moment. 

“Why are women so fragile? It was just her biological father who framed her. She can exact her revenge on him ten times. worse. Is it necessary to cry?” wondered Maverick. 

He forcefully turned Melody around and wiped her tears away for her. 

Realizing she continued to cry and had no intention of stopping, Maverick instinctively leaned in and kissed her as she was blubbering. 

As expected, the taste of her lips was pleasant. It was as if he had just tasted some addictive substance. 

“Mmph… Melody was unable to say anything as she was silenced by Maverick. 

She could only punch and kick the man, but it felt like a kitten was tickling his chest. 

Worried that she would hurt her belly, Melody dared not struggle too much. 

“I’ll stop you like this if you cry again next time, okay?” said Maverick. 

After the kiss lasted half a minute, Maverick backed away a little and panted slightly to adjust his breath. 

“You’re such an unreasonable person! I was changing my clothes when you suddenly came in,” complained Melody. 

“Then I’ll let you watch when I change my clothes next time,” coaxed Maverick as he went along with her words. While he was talking, he took the top she found and put it on her. 

Melody was rendered speechless as she mused, “There is no next time! Who wants to see him get changed? But looking at his figure, he might be in good shape.” 

Until Maverick fastened the last button, Melody finally returned to her senses and realized he had dressed her. 

“Are you going to change your pants yourself?” he asked. 

Melody’s face flushed red instantly after she heard his question. The man was satisfied as he noticed how her complexion. 

seemed better. 

“Fine. I’ll stop messing with you. I’ll leave.” With that, Maverick headed toward the men’s section. He took a black suit and a white shirt before leaving through another door. 

After confirming he was gone, Melody quickly removed her pajama bottoms and changed into pants. 

Then, she directly went out of the room after changing her clothes. It was her first time viewing the mansion.

Jenny was waiting at the end of the stairs as Melody went down the spiral staircase leisurely. Jenny quickly walked over when she saw Melody heading down the stairs. 

“Mr. Mills is waiting for you in the dining room, Ms. Tuffin.” As Jenny spoke, she led Melody to the dining room. 

Maverick was sitting upright in the main seat. The table in front of him was full of various types of breakfast. A maid was standing one meter away, waiting for his next order. 

The butler was also standing at the side. 

Noticing Melody entering, Maverick raised his head and said, “Come here.” 

As soon as he finished, the maid walked up and pulled out the chair beside Maverick. 

Hesitating for a moment, Melody directly pulled out a chair that was the furthest from Maverick and sat down. 

“I’m fine sitting here,” responded Melody.
