Chapter 74

Ciara nudged Acella from where she was standing. Acella really just wanted to run away from this situation and let someone else take the blame for her but Ciara will never let her do that.

She has to own up to what she did. "A....Axiel...don't blame Matthew anymore. It's my fault. I'm the one who tricked him and left" Acella said. She had her head bowed and did not dare to look into Axiel's face. Axiel turned to face Acella. He saw her standing with Ciara, Micheal and Miles Beta. He was surprised to see Ciara here with his sister but he didn't have the time to think about that now. He just wanted to make sure Acella was fine.

"Acella? What happened to you? Are you okay? You didn't get hurt right?" Axiel asked. He had a worried look on his face.

Acella felt conflicted when she saw this. For as long as she could remember, she had convinced herself of the notion that her brother didn't care about her. She really didn't know how to react when she saw him fussing over her so much.

...... "Acella tried to say something but she was tongue tied. What could she have said?

Ciara smiled at this situation. It seems that there is still hope for Acella's and Axiel's relationship. As long as the both of them start communicating with each other, things will fall into place sooner or later. "What are you saying? Tell me if you're okay! You don't know how worried I was about you! I thought that something bad had happened to you!" Axiel said. He had made a lot of enemies in his position as Alpha. He was really worried that someone will kidnap his sister just to get some twisted and perverted revenge on him.

"I...I am fine. But don't scold Matthew anymore. He isn't the one who is at fault here. I am the one who pretended to be asleep and then sneak out of the house. You should blame me instead of Matthew" Acella said.

Once Axiel had confirmed that Acella is okay, he felt the anger rushing back to him. Why won't Acella just listen to him? Why does she keep doing stuff that will just make him worry about her?

"You! Do you even listen to any of the things I tell you at all? I'm not locking you up here. You can go outside any time your want, but can you please pay attention to your own safety? What do you think I will do if something actually happened to you, Acella? You are my sister! Do you know how many people will jump at a chance to hurt you just to get back at me? Everything I'm doing, it's because I want to protect you. Can't you at least make things easier for me and protect yourself?" Axiel asked.

Acella wanted to yell back at him that she had not done anything wrong but then she felt Ciara's glare on her back. For some reason, she felt more compelled to listen to Ciara, more than Axiel even.

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Axiel. I wasn't thinking at all. Please forgive me" Acella said. She had never asked her brother for forgiveness, at least not since her parents death. The both of them just went ahead bottling up all the feelings they were feeling inside.

But today, Acella actually apologized. Axiel didn't know how he was supposed to continue to scold her after this.

"You know what? Just go upstairs to your room Acella. I don't know what to do with you. I know that we never got along before mom and dad's death but they are long gone now. We only have each other. Can't we get along? Do you have to do this all the time?" Axiel asked. He was tired, tired of having to be careful around his sister because he doesn't know what will

hurt her.

He just wants to have a healthy sibling relationship with her. Is this really too much to ask?

Acella sniffed back the tears that were threatening to drop. Her parents had always been a sore spot for her. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

She didn't like talking about them of having them mentioned by someone else.

Tm really sorry. I should not have made such reckless decisions. I'll be careful from now on" Acella said.

Axiel was suprised to say the least seeing Acella being so agreeable and apologizing to him. He thought that the both of them were just going to argue again if they got talking.

Axiel looked over at Ciara who had a knowing smile on her face. Does this sudden change in Acella have anything to do with her? How did she manage to do it when he has been trying for a long time with no luck?

"Just go upstairs. And as for you Matthew, you can leave now. Remember to keep an eye on her from now on. I don't want any more mistakes!" Axiel said.

Both Acella and Matthew left and soon it was just Ciara and Axiel in the room.

"Beta Ciara, please come take a seat. I have to thank you for bringing my sister home. The kid...after our parents death, she changed completely. She started getting in trouble and riling me up. I don't know how else I'm supposed to deal with her

Axiel said.

"You don't have to call me my title Axiel. We've known each other for so long. We can be casual with each other Ciara said. She still say down though.

Axiel took a seat facing Ciara. Thope you don't mind me asking but where did you see her today? Was she getting into some kind of trouble? Is that something I should be concerned about?" Axiel asked. Ciara could see that contrary to what Acella thinks, Axiel really does care about her a lot. But he doesn't know how to express his feelings.

And as for Acella, she had decided to live a closed off life, without letting anyone in.

"Actually yes, you should be concerned. I met her at the bar. And some asshole was taking advantage of her. I don't mean to exaggerate but if I weren't there at the time, I'm sure that he would have done whatever he wanted with her and no one would care" Ciara said.

Axiel frowned when he heard this. He was angry. Really angry. And not at Acella for leaving. For the bastard who had almost touched his sister.

"Do you know who this person is?" Axiel asked. No matter what, Acella is his sister. Since someone had dared to touch her, he will do everything that he can to make that person suffer, so that they learn their lesson,

"You don't need to worry. I'm sure that he won't be hurting any more vulnerable women in his life anymore. I already took care of him. I just wish...I wish you'd take more interest in Acella's life. I know that you care about her. I can see that for myself. But you need to show her. Acella, she's a closed off person. She won't change her mind easily when she's decided on something. You need to let her see your care." "And how exactly am I supposed to do that?"
