Chapter 43 

Meanwhile, in the Ziegler residence, Catherine was sitting in the main hall while looking out from time to time, asking. “Caroline isn’t back yet. What’s going on? Does anyone here know?” 

Carmen shook her head. “Mom, I met Caroline this morning and reminded her to go to the Queen residence earlier. I don’t know if she kept that in mind or not.” 

Roxanne echoed, “Caroline is arrogant, and it serves her right for Yasmin to teach her a lesson so that she can learn to stay in her lane and stop causing us trouble.” 

That did not sit well with Catherine, and her expression darkened. Seeing that, Jennifer quickly reprimanded, “Roxy, how could you say it like that? Since when is Caroline arrogant? She’s only doing that to defend Leo. Even if she raises a ruckus, I’d still support her if she’s doing that to protect Leo.” 

After Jennifer reprimanded Roxanne, she looked at Catherine and asked, “Grandma, don’t you agree? Caroline is great. I’ve never seen a stepmother who’s so loving and responsible. She treats Leo as her own son. Unlike someone here who does a terrible job as a stepmother for only caring about her own children” 

Jennifer deliberately targeted Carmen with what she said, and Carmen glared at her after hearing that. However, she could not refute anything, so she looked at David, her husband. 

David said. “That’s enough. Both of you.” 

Catherine said. “David, I still don’t feel right about this. Why don’t you go to the Queen residence and take a look? Help Caroline if she needs you. We must let the Queen residence know we, the Ziegler family, aren’t afraid of them. Also, we can contact some people if necessary.” 

“Understood, Mom!” David immediately responded. 

Just when David stood up, Benjamin came in from outside, looking irritated while snarling, “That woman, Caroline, has yet to apologize to them! How am I supposed to manage the company if she keeps it that way? Quinton Corporation’s stocks are plummeting to a halt already!” 

After he arrived inside and saw Jennifer and the others, Benjamin asked helplessly, “Is there anyone who can reach her? Just urge her to do something! Why did we even take her into our family? She’s causing our family so much trouble now!” 

Jennifer rolled her eyes and ignored his clamor. David was about to leave the house when a housekeeper rushed inside and said. “Mrs. Ziegler, Mr. David, Ms. Carmen, the Queen residence is here!”

Samuel’s words sent shock waves through the Ziegler family, especially Benjamin and Carmen. They could not believe their ears when Samuel said he was here to apologize in person.

The couple had lectured their son before arriving, so he said. “I’ll stop bullying Leon in the future. I’ll apologize to Leon in public tomorrow after arriving at school and tell him I’m sorry” 

They lowered their heads and apologized. Although the others had yet to understand what had happened that completely changed the Queen residence’s attitude, they understood they had to bring it to an end now that the Queen residence had apologized. 

Catherine walked over to them and said, “Mrs. Queen, you and your son don’t need to be so polite. We’ve received your kind apology. Since the kids attend the same kindergarten, they will be great friends from now on and put this behind them. Also, the Ziegler family and the Queen residence have been friends for generations. We still need to support each other and develop together in the future.”

“That’s right. We must leave now.” 

Just like that. Samuel and his family went back. The Ziegler family watched them out. 

After they had left, the Ziegler family then returned inside and started discussing the matter. 

Jennifer was curious. “I was dumbfounded when the Queen residence came in person to apologize: I thought they were here” to settle scores with us!” 

“I know. Didn’t they tell Caroline to go apologize to them before the clock strikes 12?” Catherine was also baffled. 

They still could not understand the reason behind this. David said, “Whatever the reason, this matter is finally over since the Queen residence came and apologized.” 

Benjamin no longer had the reason to throw a tantrum, but he wondered, “What did Caroline do to make the Queen residence do this? How did she manage to get Samuel to come and apologize in person? How?” 

No one knew the answer, not even Carmen. She and Savannah were expecting to watch a good show, yet nothing had happened, and they were not entertained. 

For such a big deal to be settled this effortlessly, Jennifer was excited. “Grandma, I’m sure Caroline went to the Queen residence and explained everything. Chief Queen is reasonable enough to come and apologize in person. What did I tell you? Caroline is the lucky star of our family. I knew she could solve the crisis!” 

Catherine nodded. “I agree. It’s a blessing Quintin married her, and it’s even a bigger blessing for her to become part of the Ziegler family! All of you must be nice to Caroline from now on.” 

The others fell silent. Then, Michael came inside and asked if lunch should be ready. 

“Wait for Caroline,” said Catherine. 

Carmen was upset. It had only been a few days, but Catherine was already siding with her granddaughter–in–law. The world became realistic and cruel to Carmen now as Catherine asked everyone in the family to wait for Caroline before they could have lunch just because Caroline solved this issue. 

She had enough of this already. 

The Queen residence followed through with their apology by pulling the plug on Quinton Corporation. Samuel also came forward personally and made a public statement, clarifying the news that they could not implement the cutting–edge technology of the 8G chips was just a rumor. 

He also made sure to mention the cutting–edge technology of the 8G chips was already in the experimental stage and was expected to be launched soon. His statement also stated that the government was very optimistic about the project and hoped people would stop spreading the rumors around. 

After the release of his official statement, Quinton Corporation’s stocks that were almost plummeted to a halt had rebounded again, with investors beginning to buy in one after another. 

In other words, Quinton Corporation had survived the crisis. 

Flynn also informed Quintin about the Queen residence’s apology and what had happened in the outside world. After hearing that, Quintin felt much more relieved. 

He had to admit Caroline really had the brain and brawn to settle this in an orderly manner. 

Thinking that she still had not returned, Quintin asked, “Is she not back yet?” 

“Yes. We can’t reach Ms. Lewis‘ number for now either.” 

Quintin was once again frustrated as he pictured her dating some random young man.
