Chapter 20: Laikan World

[Luna]

"Who are you?" Claire asked while staring at the two handsome boys.

Their foreheads creased. "You don't know about us? That's odd. Everyone knows who we are!" replied the boy with brown hair. I think he's the brown wolf because the other guy has white hair.

We shook our heads. The white-haired boy remained silent while looking at us intently. In fairness, he is so handsome.

"Well, except us!" Claire replied and raised an eyebrow.

"What?! You don't know me? Unbelievable! I'm the one and only Prince Caleb Zobel of Sumo Palace! And this is Prince Zachary Frost of Icelania Palace!"

Tsk. What an arrogant prince.

"Oh, you're a prince?" Claire nodded and made a poker face, clearly not impressed.

I cleared the lump in my throat. "I'm Luna and this is Claire. We came from another dimension. Can I ask, what is this world?" I said, and they looked surprised.

"What? Impossible! How did you get here in our world?" exclaimed Caleb. His face lit up at the sudden curiosity.

"Uh, using the portal? Duh." I answered while rolling my eyes. Caleb scratched the back of his nape with a pout.

"How can we make sure you're not our enemy?" said Zachary with an icy expression. Sh*t, he has a manly voice but is so cold.

"Excuse me? Do you think we’re enemies? Hah!? Maybe you two are the enemy? And you're just pretending to be a prince? A wolf prince? Tsk." said Claire with a trace of irritation on her face. I fight the urge to laugh.

"Hey! That's one of our abilities! Only princes and princesses can transform into wolves!" Caleb growled.

Claire and I looked at each other with a meaningful glare. So Claire also has the power to transform into a wolf? What will Claire look like? I laughed mentally.

"Ows?" said Claire as she rolled her eyes. But I know she’s curious as well.

But we were immediately on high alert when we heard silent footsteps. It was so faint that a normal being wouldn’t notice, but we could still hear it, given our special abilities.

We looked at each other and sharpened our senses.

"I'm fine, Claire. Be careful." I said and immediately summoned an ice dagger as a counterattack. Dark blood gushed out from the enemy’s arm. I saw Zachary looking at me with a frown.

A lot of men in black clothing immediately surrounded us while carrying some weapons. Their eyes were bloodshot, like that of a vampire.

"You're cornered. You're going to die! Hahahaha!" a man said. His sharp fangs showed up. They are vampires indeed.

I smirked. Hah. The nerve of them to say that. Hmmph.

"In your dreams!" said Claire while smirking.

I threw an ice dagger at the enemies while Claire controlled the trees and punched the enemies, each of them.

I saw the two princes fighting as well. A sudden presence showed up behind me. I almost got stabbed by a sharp object, but I dodged it with ease.

I can kill them just by a snap of my fingers, but where's the thrill with that if I killed them without sweat?

Since I was used to fighting in close combat, I could easily defeat the enemy. When I looked at Claire's whereabouts, I saw her exchange attacks with the enemy. But she didn't notice an arrow pointed at her. But before the man could release the arrow, I teleported at his back and smacked his head, causing him to pass out. Since he tried to kill Claire, I angrily wrapped him in ice and froze him. Serves him right.

"Tsk." someone hissed. I looked at Prince Zachary and caught her glancing at me. I smirked.

I flew upwards and created ten arrows made of ice and pointed them at the enemies. They turned to ashes when they were hit straight in the heart. When I landed on the ground, Claire applauded in awe.

"You're really awesome, Luna!" I grinned at her.

The two princes just looked at us, and I raised an eyebrow at them.

"Ehem." I fake coughs to get their attention.

"Who are these creatures? Why did they attack us?" I ask.

They sighed and turned serious.

"They are our enemies from Shangdong Palace. They are a vampire and possess dark powers." We nodded. That's why those creatures are fast. They are vampires.

"You haven't answered our question yet. What is this place?" Claire asked.

"This world is called Laikan World. This world comprises 9 palaces, Sumo Palace, Icelania Palace, Shanzhin Palace, Yolania Palace, Shinyi Palace, Lushin Palace, Wumin Palace, and Shangdong Palace. The Wumin Palace and the Shangdong Palace are allied. They have been our fiercest enemies for the past hundred years." explained Prince Caleb.

There are many palaces here but I wonder why he only mentions eight palaces.

"You said there were nine palaces, but why did you only mention eight?" I ask.

"Yes, that's right. There are nine palaces. And one palace is the so-called Laikan Kingdom. It's the most powerful of all, but not everybody can enter there. Their security is tight. Only royals of some palace can enter, except for Wumin and Shangdong Palace." Prince Zachary also explained.

This place is also complicated. Claire and I will have a hard time finding her real family. If we need to check the nine palaces, we will do it just to see Claire’s family.

The two princes took us back to their place. Prince Caleb suggests we will stay at the Academy, but we have to enroll first.

When we came out of the forest, a town greeted us. Many people were walking down the street and they paid respect seeing the two princes. But they were staring at me and Claire. They seem to wonder who we are. A strange car pulled up in front of us and the two princes led us in. Their vehicle is unique compared to the mortal world. It doesn’t use any fuel but only water.

We remained quiet during the ride. No one broke the silence until an hour had passed and we were in front of a huge green gate with gold engraved on it with the word Laikan Academy.

When the gate opened, the car entered. The beauty of the school amazed me. The design of the school is unique and you can see the vitality because of the color. It comes in different colors and looks fun living here.

"This school is awesome!" Claire exclaimed, and I saw the two princes smiling.

We jumped down the car and immediately looked at the entire school with a smile.

The two princes allegedly guided us to the Headmaster's Office. The students looked at us as they whispered to each other. They probably wonder who we are and why we were with the Princes.

Caleb knocked on the door when we arrived at the HM office. The door opened, and we went inside.

"Headmaster, good day. We have someone to introduce you..." Caleb said.

I see a high-back leather swivel chair with its back turned. Gradually, the chair turned to face us and a very cute creature appeared.

"Big Bro Zach! Big Bro Caleb!"

"Zion?! Where's uncle?"

But the kid didn't answer. He was stunned while gaping at me and Claire. His gaze shifted from me and Claire. I giggled at the child's reaction. He looks about four years old.

"Big brother, are they a goddess?" We laughed at what he said.

"Hi, baby boy! You know what? You are so cute!" he smiled broadly and then got down from the chair and ran to hug me.

"You're so beautiful, big sister! What's your name? I'm Zion Zacharias!"

I chuckled. "My name is Luna Syesha McCleen!"

He turned to Claire and beamed.

"Hi, baby! I'm Claire Roque!"

"Hello, big sister! You know you look like Princess Catherine!" Claire and I looked at each other. We just smiled at the little kid and the sound of the door opening interrupted us. Maybe it’s the headmaster. He looks to be in his 30s.

"Oh, Zach, Caleb, what's up?" he looked at us and frowned. "Who are these beautiful ladies?" he added.

"Ah, Uncle, this is Luna..." Zach pointed at me, "... and this is Claire."

"They will enroll in the Academy, Uncle." the headmaster nodded in approval.

"Hi, I'm Zenon Zacharias." the headmaster introduced himself. "Which palace are you from?" he asked. The four of us looked at each other. And then the two princes nodded.

"To be honest, we're not from this world. I mean, only me because Claire is originally from here." I started. Their foreheads frowned. I hadn't told Zach and Caleb before, so they were surprised.

"What do you mean?" they both asked.

"I am from Moondrous World and I stumbled to the Mortal World. Then I met Claire. I thought she was just an ordinary human without power. But one night, her power awakened. Then I found out that she came from here, so I brought her here." I explained, and they couldn't believe what they heard.

"How did you get to the mortal world, Claire?" Headmaster asked.

"I don't know. I grew up there. If it wasn't for Luna, I wouldn't know my true origin." Claire replied.

We fell silent. I was the first to break the silence.

"We'd like to stay here, headmaster, until we find Claire's family..." I said while looking at him.

Silence enveloped the room, and only our breathing resounded.

Headmaster Zenon just looked at us and later nodded. Claire and I smiled.

"You two really look alike! I can hardly believe Luna has twins," said Queen Freya with a big smile on her lips.

"Has Luna been kind here?" I asked with a smile.

We are currently in her palace and the fairies serve me a drink. I don’t know what it is but all I can say is it tastes good. It is orange with glitters.

"Yes, she's very kind and smart," she said while smiling. I smiled.

"Queen Freya, do you already know the news about the upcoming war?"

"War?!" she gasped. Based on her reaction, she still knows nothing.

"Yes, it's only 4 days to go and the war between the Drazona and Enchantreia will begin," I explained.

"Then we'll help in the fight!"

I smiled because they can help a lot. Especially since they can heal wounds. Fairies have good healing skills, so they are of great help in the upcoming war.

During our conversation, she convinced me they would help treat the wounded in battle. Other fairies will fight as well. It was their decision, so I gave in.

I stayed there for two days and I decided to go back to the academy.

I teleported to our secret place. I saw Alesia leaning against the tree and closing her eyes. She looks tired.

"So far so good... and I miss you too!" I said and pinched her nose. I saw her face flushed red. She’s cute!

"There are only two days left and I'm nervous about what might happen..." she said.

"Don't worry. Everything will be alright but... I can't promise that no one will get hurt." She was saddened by what I said.

"Why is it that war is a must in this world? Are they that hungry for power? I don't understand..." she sighed.

We stopped talking when there was a knock on the door. We looked at each other, and Alyssa stood up to open the door. The guys got inside and their eyes widened when they saw me.

"Leenaaaa!"

My eyes widened as they all rushed at me. I avoided them and they ended up on the floor. I immediately teleported next to Alyssa. We laughed at their faces as their foreheads collided with each other.

"Hahahaha," Alyssa and I laughed. Their faces are priceless!

"It hurts! Huhuhu,"

"Sh*t!"

"F*ck!"

"Ouch!"

Because of what happened, they looked at me deadly and my eyes widened when vines circled me.

"Waaahhh, Ven! I'm sorry!" I said while pouting. She smiled like a demon. She pulled me closer to her and I sigh in relief when she removes the vines from me.

But suddenly, she pulled me with her and gave me a hug that made me laugh. The others joined all of a sudden, causing us to fall to the floor together.

We laughed as we got up.

"Where did you go?" Nicole asked.

"In Fairy Land..." I answered, and their eyes widened.

I told them that Queen Freya and I had a conversation about their clan helping in the upcoming war. And they are happy because they know fairies skills can help a lot during battle.

About a few hours passed, and they decided to go back to their rooms. Alyssa and I looked at each other.

We sighed and went to the bedroom.

I just lie on the bed while staring at the white ceiling.

When will Luna and I meet? I miss her already and I know I won’t be complete without her.

Do you miss me too, Luna?

I let out a deep sigh before closing my eyes.
