He brushed away the tear from my cheek and held me close. He wrapped his arms around me, and his lips gently kissed my hair. I was totally overwhelmed by his words, but it didn't explain the rejection only moments before.

I pulled away staring up into his bright blue eyes. "But Joel, why did you stop? Last night was beyond perfect, I thought you would want to again."

I knew I wanted to.
