Chapter 8, Last hope

Wuz and Dereus clashed as the fairies with their skills and agility both killed and capture hivelings. Wuz threw a punch only for Dereus to dodge it and then use one of his blades to slice at Wuz's head. However, it left no marking or scratch, but did send Wuz tittering back a few paces. the fighting between the hive and the fairies stopped as they watched the fight between their generals. Wuz went in for more attacks and yet every time Dereus dodged out of the way of each attack like as if he was predicting it. Wuz then attempted to punch Dereus only to destroy a pillar behind for Derus was already out of the way.

"When my sister said not to come here, I was actually a little scared. Nothing really shakes her, but now I see her fear was irrational." Dereus said with a smirk as he then began blitz around Wuz who tried attacking him only to be countered at every attempt. Wuz then stopped and focused. He looked around the room as he could sense Dereus moving around, Wuz then slammed the ground destroying it, causing for everyone to fall through to a lower level. Dereus attempted to grab a ledge from the previous floor, but Wuz grabbed his leg and dragged him down. He then jerked Dereus towards him and then spun around slamming the fairy prince into the ground. Dereus shook his head and wiped blood from his nose.

"Ow, ok, note less talking and more fighting." Dereus said as he then got up only to struggle and then realize his leg was still Wuz's clutches. Wuz then pulled Dereus and began to slam against the ground and all over. Dereus kicked and punched at Wuz, but to no avail for Wuz was not easily moved. Once he had you, you were in his grip forever. Some fairy archers looked down into the hole in the floor into the lower level where Wuz and Dereus were fighting and began to fire arrows engraved with Evela's light and pure goodness, the arrows stuck into his back and burned at his flesh. He threw Dereus to the ground and turned around to the archers to attack, Dereus then imbued his swords with his own light and then slid under Wuz and sliced at his legs bringing the giant down as archers rained more light arrows into his back pining the giant down.

In the sub-levels of the tower Bog and the Witch were slaughtering all in their path as they searched for the Dark One's prize. That was when the Witch turned around feeling Wuz's dark power diminishing.

"Wuz is in trouble." the Witch said

"We will not interfere, Dark One needs his prize. They will attempt to hide it and keep it away from him. We must remain focused." Bog said as he extended his fingers down the hall skewering ten guards on one finger. The Witch looked back one more time before the two continued their way through the tower's lower levels. Outside the Monad!Man and Nulog continued their battle, it was intense and hard fought. Other monad people and soldiers alike tried to aid the Monad!Man, but none were capable of doing so. The two powerhouses were moving much to quickly for their eyes to see. Nulog swung blow after blow and Monad!Man doing the same, eventually the two would clash again knocking them both down with each landing on their feet. Thats when a large thundering shake would occur at the tower.

"The ancients, I need to end this fast and help them." Monad!Man thought to himself as he then struggled to get to his feet and shake off his wounds and tiredness. Nulog cracked his knuckles doing the same.

Back within the tower Wuz had been subdued, to the knowledge of the fairies. They stood ready to fire another volley at any second. Wuz was on the ground exhausted, the light arrows in his back still poisoning him while Dereus stood nearby. He shook himself off and the walked towards Wuz.

"My lord stay back! Its dangerous it's still alive." said a fairy general

"Don't worry Yui, I got it." Dereus said as he then kneeled to the tired Wuz.

"What a pity, all that strength and brawn just so you can be kneeling to me. Your false king will be very displeased. Especially once he sees that I've captured one of his finest." Dereus as he then stood up.

"My lord we cannot take him back to Teseara! We would be wise to-"

"YOU WILL SPEAK, WHEN I ASK YOU TO! I'll ask for your word when I need it. We've done a great thing here. A fine prize to send back to my sister and to finally prove that I deserve to rule as king. A well-done victory, FOR FAIRY KIND!" Dereus shouted as some of the fairy soldiers cheered while Yui just looked at them all aware of the danger this would bring.

"We'll tie this freak up and put him in the deepest hole in Teseara and if we don't have one, we'll make him dig it." Dereus said, Yui couldn't take it anymore and flew down.

"My lord, Evela doesn't want this. We aren't even supposed to be here. This entire operation was a direct betrayal of her rule." general Yui said puffing out his chest, Dereus looked insulted that Yui would come down and argue with him. Wuz still exhausted looked down one of the halls his mind racing to thousands of different ways to escape the situation while the two fairies argued with one another. Wuz then punched the ground again shaking it and causing Dereus and Yui to stumble.

"FIRE!" shouted Yui, Wuz however then grabbed a fallen column and threw it at the archers knocking them back and then would make a loud thundering clap with his hands sending Yui and Dereus flying backwards from the shockwave. Before they could even react Wuz disappeared into smoke and then vanished out of sight. Dereus got up in a hurry

"DAMMNIT! HES GOTTEN AWAY! We'll go after-"

"NO! MEN! Secure the building and make sure the monads can get the artifact out of here." Yui shouted. The fairies looked at Yui and Dereus.

"Who are you to command my subjects? Hm? ANSWER ME!" Dereus shouted. Yui stood up to Dereus completely aware of what it may cost him.

"I am taking over this operation, prince Dereus, I must request for you to help Monad!Man wherever he is." Yui said, Dereus looked deep into Yui's eyes, but they didn't faulter. Both of them standing to each other like bears ready to brawl.

"Are you giving me, orders?" Dereus asked in a highly aggressive tone. Yet again though Yui didn't faulter and the fairy soldiers noticed his courage and then stood tall too no longer conflict on who to follow.

"It is" Yui said as he then motioned for the men to follow him into the tower, they followed him leaving behind Dereus. Dereus spit out some blood as he watched his men leave him and go off with general Yui.

Deeper into the sub-levels Bog and the Witch reached a heavily guarded room. inside it the ancients who were the oldest of the monads were prepping the artifact inside of pod to send to the tower of Hurazu inside the closet universe.

"Hurry, the anti-monad cannot fall in the hands of the Dark One at any cost." spoke Uragu the oldest of the ancients.

"Elder, they won't let us live if they know we don't have it." spoke one of the ancients.

"I'm aware, but this is vital. Send it NOW." shouted the Elder as all the ancients looked at one another and nodded, they began the process of sending the pod away. Thats when they could hear the slaughtering of the guards outside. They're hands got shaky and then sent the pod away, it flew straight out into the void and into the nearest universe and towards the tower of Hurazu.

"Its done elder, said one of the ancients." said a ancient

"Then the universes and order of things will be safe. Our only hope now is that hero will be born and destroy it. So long as the anti-monad exist the Dark One will still be able to destroy all that he wants." said the Elder as then the door to their lab was broken down by the Witch, Bog entered inside and pointed his finger at the Elder.

"Where is the anti-monad? Hand it over, NOW. The Dark One demands it." said Bog

"Far away from you and your false god." said the Elder, the Witch then used her magic to clear the room sending everyone, but Bog flying backwards. She walked around and scanned the room. She felt around the room and couldn't sense it.

"Its not here." the Witch said in a cold and dangerous tone, Bog then infuriated used his fingers and sliced apart two ancients as he marched over to the Elder and grabbed him by his coat, by the Elder showed no fear.

"WHERE IS IT!? WHERE DID YOU SEND IT?!" Bog shouted, yet the Elder said nothing thats when Wuz reappeared outside the room weakened as he slumped against the doorway.

"Wuz." the Witch said as she ran over and helped him stand.

"What happened?" the Witch asked

"...Fairies, they've arrived and so has the prince. Where is the anti-monad?" Wuz asked

"Fairies." Bog said as he threw the Elder down on the ground, the other ancients then helped him stand.

"Its gone, they sent it away." the Witch said

"Then we've failed, we'll retreat for now and regroup back with the Dark One." Wuz said, he then looked around and saw the ancients all huddled together.

" Take them, we'll have the Dark One weasel the answers out of them." Wuz said as he then listened down the hall and could hear the fairies and they're wings buzzing as they got closer.

"We need to go, Bog, collect Nulog and meet us back at the outskirts. Witch gather the hive." said Wuz as he disappeared. The Witch then summoned hivelings which then gathered the ancients and the Elder.

"Tell the others to retreat." the Witch told one hiveling, it saluted and then crawled out of the room. The Witch then disappeared with the ancients and Elder.

Back outside the Monad!Man and Nulog clashed once more until then they heard the horn of retreat from the hive and saw them returning back within the large open black hole they came through from.

"A retreat signal? THE ANCIENTS!" Monad!Man said as he then flew towards the tower leaving Nulog, Nulog looked as Monad!Man fled. Bog then emerged near Nulog.

"Give me the good news." Nulog said as he shook himself off

"We have the ancients and the Elder, we're taking them back for questioning." Bog said

"What of the artifact?" Nulog asked, Bog simply shook his head and Nulog sighed as he and Bog went through the portal too with Wuz and the Witch following as well.

the Fairies captured one of the hivelings which growled and scowled and bit at them. Yui and the others went inside and looked around.

"We were too late." Yui said

"Sir! There aren't any monads around. We believe the ancients may have been captured." said a fairy soldier, that's when they heard crashing as the Monad!Man came bursting from the ceiling outside the lab, wounded and exhausted.

"The ancients, where are they!?" asked the Monad!Man in desperation only to see the eyes Yui.

"No..." Monad!Man said as he fell to his knees.
